I am using Galaxy for last couple days and if is a very good phone except couple things for me.
Is there a way to customize or add ringtones to the Notification Sounds?
This phone has lousy calendar which do not even sound notification at or before appt time

I want to move an ogg notification to the Epic's internal memory so it will play when the SD card is mounted, but I can't move it to the /system/media/audio/notifications folder. I think it's due to NAND not being unlocked? I have root access. tried creating a /media/audio/notifications folder in internal memory and I could move the file to that folder, but neither rings extended nor ringdroid will see it in that location. Is there someway that this is possible, or do we have to wait for NAND unlock? Surely this is an issue that lots of other people have had.

The notification sound comes through both my headphones and the rear speaker. What's up with that, I'd like for all sound to come through the headphones when they're plugged in.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI always create calendar appointments with an alarm. A few days ago I went to Settings/Sound and Display/Notification Ring tone and set it to "on time". Maybe a day or two later I created my own notification ring tone and set it in settings. The ring tone works fine in Astrid and Nudist. However, the calendar notifications still use the "on time" ring tone. I even tried changing the notification ring tone to "tweeters" but calendar still uses "on time", even after multiple reboots.

I honestly don't know exactly how or when it was that I managed to do it, but I assume it must have been during the last couple of days when it was connected to my PC - I must have just deleted a folder by mistake. Schoolboy stuff really! If there is no way of getting the original HTC sounds back, does anyone know of a free/non-subscription service where I could source some alternatives? I just want a standard "ring ring" & "beep" rather than some sort of crazy frog shenanigans.

View 1 Replies View Relatedso I was clearing up some room for a new app and went through managing apps and deleting some and clearing some caches. And now, I can't select any of the normal ringtones on the phone for my notification sounds. When I go Personalize > Default ringtone > select ringtone. It comes up saying 'Phone Ringtone' With options of OK and Cancel. It gives me no choice of any of the old normal tones the phone had before....what the hell is going on. Same for text noises btw.

Is there such a thing as an app that plays a custom notification sound (mp3) chosen at random from a group of sounds? For example, if I have several different mp3 sound bytes of different people saying "You've got mail", is there an app that will randomly choose one of those sounds to play whenever I get mail?
(I've got a great notification mp3 right now but I could see it getting annoying to hear over and over again, so I'd love it if it was different from time to time)
I noticed that when the phone goes into deep sleep mode I don't seem to get my notifications. Anyone have this problem and know how to solve it? I will go to bed and not know that I get a text or email until I wake the phone up. Thank you for your help. I just got the samsung moment

Every time I want to set a custom notification I get this list of Samsung sounds to choose from, instead of being asked, for instance, where I want to find the sound.
My friend, who has an LG G2 running Android 4.3 gets the following when he clicks on notification sound in Whatsapp:

I then thought to install an app that controls all notification sounds, kind of like Lightflow does notification LEDs. I found MegaSound and tried that. Gave it permission, went in, tried to set a custom notification sound for Whatsapp and was shown the same list to choose from.
Before I updated I was able to choose a wma/mp3 sound from my files on my phone to use.
can you have separate sounds for email and txt messages? Currently seems to be lumped together.

If I'm using the internal speaker, the notification plays, but the music or podcast is still audible. Is everyone else having this happen, and if so, is there a workaround?

On the iPhone, there was an option to select different text notification sounds for different contacts. Bob has sound A, Carol has sound B, etc. I haven't found that option in the S3. Do I need to create Groups and then assign the Group a specific sound for text messages? With over 1200 contacts, I would like to choose one text sound for friends, another for clients, etc.
Once i updated to 2.1 i seem to loose my notification sounds from time to time. i don't know what is wrong with it. i have to restart the phone to get the sound to work again

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to JH7, and realized that I can no longer use my own specific audio files as ringtones anymore...its only letting me use the stock ringtones. When I go to Settings > Sound and Display > Voice call ringtone , the only ringtones I can choose from are the ones that came with the phone. It's the only thing that pops up. Theres nothing for me to click anymore that lets me search my android system for audio files.

When I navigate to the MP3 that I want as my ringtone, I tap the menu button to find the "Set as" option, but that option seems to have been removed altogether! Am I missing something here, or have AT&T and/or Samsung decided that we're not allowed to set our personal MP3's as ringtones and therefore are forced to either do without, or buy them from wherever? View 9 Replies View RelatedI have no SD card yet (its on order now) but I have 20 tones already that I downloaded from Zedge - can I use them now for sms and ringtones without the card then just add them to the physical card once it arrives? I have tried but with no success. I am able to play them in the player just not assign them as. My only guess is it is because I have no SD card yet. View 10 Replies View RelatedI have looked and cannot find the answer to this puzzle. The other day my wife came home and said that while she was talking on the phone she got a text message. She has a "Joe Dirt" sound notification for it and said that it began to play loud in the phone while she was talking. The other person could not hear it but she could. Today I am using RingDroid to make a ring tone and I get a call. The screen switches over to answer or not answer with no other options meanwhile the song is still playing. I figure if I answer the phone the call will over ride the music... wrong! As soon as I answer the music stops in the speaker and starts playing through the ear piece really loud. I can barely hear the other person through the music so I put them on hold while I try to navigate back to ringdroid which has vanished so I can push stop. While I'm trying to get back to it, it finally stops because it was set to play for 30 seconds. I go back to the call and ask if they heard that and they say no. This has to be fixed. What do I need to do?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe reason I KNOW its not me changing these ringtones in all of the assignable designations for media files to be played for the ringtones and such is that I have not a single of my music files within any of these settings as an option to assign in the first place. They are showing up randomly. This morning I awoke to Rock n Roll by Led Zeppelin, and earlier today a friend called my whose ringtone was changed to 99 Red Balloons.
Let me reitterate; I have never assingned a music track as a ringtone, alarm, or notification. The previous ringtone still exists in my library and is functional IE; i can reassign the same ringtone to a person again. I THINK that only ringtones which are NOT DEFAULT are changing. I do have an abundance of navigation (gps, turn by turn, ect), some news, a widget for quick settings (wifi, bluetooth, ringer on/off, gps), Music (shazam, pandora tunee music, The house FM christian radio) Astro file manager, Emulators, facebook integration.I have noticed some coming on by themselves. Ill try to note when I have done nothing to activate them.
