After unplugging my phone from usb charge, the usb icon in notification bar never goes away? When I pull the bar down it says usb connected when it clearly is not. Not sure why this is happening.

I just got my captivate about a week ago and have been having issues with my alarm clock. I set my alarm to wake me up every morning. Some mornings I am up before the alarm goes off so I turn it off, or atleast I think I turn it off. When the alarm is on I see the clock in the notification bar. So when I wake up I click the clock icon and turn off the alarm. I no longer see the icon on the notification bar but the alarm seems to go off anyway. The repeat for the alarm is set at "once". I just go in every night and turn it on. It just seems to go off anyway even when it is turned off earlier in the morning.ks

View 10 Replies View RelatedSo when I get a new email from my gmail account, the icon appears on my drop down menu. When I click the notification it brings me to the email, but the notification remains at the top of the bar until I click it again, which brings me to my inbox. This is not really a big issue, it just kind of gets annoying clicking every email twice. Any solutions?
View 2 Replies View Relatedso i have the samsung behold 2 and i need a bit of help. im using chompsms instead of the basic messaging & whenever i receive an sms, two notifications go off. one from the basic messaging and one from chompsms app. i've looked thru my phone for hours trying to figure out how to turn of the basic messaging notification icon but i couldn't find it. can someone please help because it's getting so annoying and i want the basic messaging notification icon to go away & just have the chompsms notification.

ODIN showed PASS in the window but the phone refuses to boot up. It remains frozen with the SAMSUNG sign. Recovery mode is not working either.

This causes my phone to get very warm and the battery to lose about 1% per minute. In order to get it to stop I have to reboot. I can't figure out what is causing this issue. Does anyone know why my GPS icon on the top toolbar of my phone would be running randomly? I have no apps running that would require it to come on and the only way to get it to turn off is to power the phone down and then turn it back on. It doesn't bother me.but I do believe it is running my battery down faster then normal.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I have had our captivates for just over a month and have loved the device despite the few minor issues that we've experienced with them. I check the boards daily to see all the latest, but didn't see anything on one issue that i am experiencing.
When using the camera to take pictures of my infant son, if i try to take a picture, then another and sometimes a third (infants are hard to keep still for a picture) without closing the camera application, a few times i haven't been able to press the take picture button and have noticed a "lock" icon on the camera screen, then can not exit the camera app at all and need to power off the phone, then bring it back up. Does anyone know what causes this and if it's something that i am doing unknowingly when bobbling the phone trying to positing him for the picture?

It has no notification attached to it, restarting the device doesn't make it go away and neither am I aware of any app installed that could have caused this. Due to the resemblance the icon bears to the ICS logo, I thought it might be some system-based event (something like an android anniversary date or whatnot), yet it persisted through GMT midnight, which makes it seems less likely then it did when I found out. I tried an image-based search for any images and screenshots containing the said icon, but came out empty-handed. As Henzman said, it's the new icon of the Power Toggles app.

Samsung claims that *3282# is the Samsung code to lower the notification volume.
Samsung claims that they are now aware that *3282# is the AT&T code to check our data usage.
Because of this conflict, they claim they will send an OTA fix; but will not state when that will be.
AT&T has been receiving many complaints regarding this problem. Samsung claims they have never heard of this before. Apparently they forgot to log in my call last week?
I have a problem with getting my samsung captivate to go into download mode, when i hold my volume buttons then put in my usb cable in the phone it just shows a battery charge icon instead of download mode.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have AT&T with the Samsung Captivate.I came from an original iPhone The iPhone was having lots of issues such as getting a new voice mail notification but no missed call, or I would get a missed call and they said they left a voice mail, but I would get no voice mail notification.Texts were hit or miss and my wifi didn't work...and I guess that isn't really relevant to this conversation.Anyway, since AT&T finally put a decent android phone on the market, I got the captivate on Monday. Right out of the box it said I had 1 new voice mail. I check my voice mail and it says I have no voice mails. 2 days later it still says I have a voice mail, but when I check i don't. This is very frustrating. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can fix this problem? One thing I was thinking is that on the iPhone system I have a voice mail that I never checked and the captivate is reporting on that, but I'm not sure if that's really how it works.

I if use my Finger to swipe down, it still drags down the notifications, but I still can't see the time, battery, etc.
Is there a way to get a pop up notification for a text? Or something like on the iPhone where it notifies you that you still have unread msgs on the app itself? My problem is I clear the Notification bar and don't realize i have a text and then never see them.
