How do you uninstall the apps from sprint? I did not see an easy way to do this under applications in settings? A lot of these apps I do not want, but certain ones do not want to uninstall. Any ideas?

Is there any way to remove pre-installed programs?
For example, the following programs were pre-installed:
Amazon MP3
Footprints
Teeter
And maybe some others.
I've just tried:
Settings | Applications | Manage Apps
And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.
Is it possible to remove, delete, uninstall, or get them off the device?
Is there any way to remove the pre-installed Sprint programs?
Sprint TV
Sprint-Nextel
NFL
Nascar
Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.
I came to the conclusion that i have too many apps, lol. so i went to start deleting some of them through the market>my downloads, and uninstalling them one by one. I was just wondering if there is a way to mass uninstall these apps instead of one by one...?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI was attempting to install the android sdk to my PC so i can push a file to my phone. i downloaded the android sdk from the website and unzipped it to my desktop. i ran the .exe setup from my desktop but i read somewhere that the folder was suppose to be put in the C: directory so i panic and canceled the installation process so now i think it partially installed. i went to my control panel and tried to uninstall but i didn't see any android or sdk program installed. anywhere know where else to look?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am currently running DC1.0 and I installed an old version of spare parts from my SD using appInstaller then used aTrackDog to find a newer version and installed that over it. Well I had 2 spare parts installed and I installed one of them that was made in 2010, but the other one was apparently made in 2008 and I can't uninstall it. I even went as far as going into the recovery screen and using the wipe feature only to reboot and find the application STILL on the phone... I don't remember the application being installed with the rom so even then, I should be able to uninstall it after the wipe.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI REALLY need some assistance, think I screwed my phone, really want to avoid a hard wipe. I installed Lock bot the other day, has some issues with dual lock layers (i.e. the lock bot app wasn't disabling my HTC lock so I had two unlocks.). emailed dev and he sent me a beta version to hopefully correct issue. I only received an apk file from him. FYI I am on fresh 1.1, rooted. I used the kitchen to puch this file: "LockBotPro_1.10.0_beta.apk" to /system/app. The install went successfully, but later after a reboot I face a HUGE issue. The lock bot app is hanging upon reboot and will not unlock. At first I thought i would still be okay, I had ATK and Advanced Task manager both running at start up, so I can enter both of them through my notification drop down menu. I used both to kill the task-to no avail it is still locked. I tried to use advanced task manager to uninstall lock bot - to no avail, it cannot be removed. Then I tried to pull back the file through kitchen, to no avail.

I'm new to Android. Just got a HTC Hero yesterday, with the latest update of 2.2.
A couple of questions I can seem to find answered anywhere.
1. I can't figure out how uninstall apps.
2. I can't figure out how to set apps to auto-upgrade or what the function is to update all simultaneously. i've seen screenshots from others phone showing the "update all" function in Market. But it doesn't exist in mine. I'm wondering if that's because it doesn't exist for the Hero?
Does anyone knows how to remove sprint apps like NFL and NASCAR? I heard that all you need is to root phone.

It certainly seems like it is removed. But, when I go to the Market to try to reinstall it, it as listed as "installed" in the Downloads section. When I click on it, both the "Open" and "Uninstall" buttons are grayed out. So, I can't even reinstall it.
The app is Yellowbook (US Yellow Pages Search).
Is there some residual file on my phone that I might be able to delete with ES File Explorer or via adb?
Is it possible to put the Sprint apps on the SD card post rooting, and if so, is there anywhere I could look for a walk-through or some pointers?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs anyone aware of a listing of apps that require Android 2.1 to run (e.g. apps like Google Goggles, etc.)? I've searched the threads here at Android Forums and elsewhere and haven't been able to find such a list or site.
Now that I upgraded to 2.1, I'd like to "see what I've been missing" and take advantage of the new OS.
I rooted my sprint HTC hero and installed CM6 on it the other day, and everything is working great... except voicemail. I was using the Sprint VVM app, and that worked, but I got that annoying SMS message with each new voicemail, so I decided to switch to Google Voice (for voicemail only). It seems to work, except when my friends (who also have Sprint) call, and I don't answer the call, they either get a fast busy signal or they hear a voice say something like "Call cannot be completed. Goodbye" and then it hangs up.
Calling from land-lines and other cells seems to work ok? I just enabled Google Voice today, so do I need to wait a certain amount of time before it works Sprint to Sprint, or? Has anyone else seen this before? I should mention, it only happens on unanswered calls. If i dismiss the call before it's done ringing, it properly goes to google voicemail.
The great thing about android is that a lot of the apps in the market are free. It's wonderful to have the opportunity to try and use so many useful/entertaining bits of software. However I also recognise that money makes the world go round and in order to support developers then those that can afford to make the contribution should do the honorable thing.I'm just about to receive my first paycheque since the christmas holidays and I think its about time to upgrade to the paying version or donate to the developer of various apps that I've been using for about a month.So here's my list of apps which I'm going to be giving my hard earned money to.Robotic Guitarist - guitar app 0.99 Euro Solo - another guitar app 1.50 music online - music $7.99. There's a couple more that I'd have liked to donate to, but doesn't seem very easy at the moment. Perhaps there should be something in the settings menu for most applications which automatically links to a place for users to donate.

View 33 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?

If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

I'm trying to find FlightTrack and I'm told "There are no matches in Android Market for the search: flighttrack." When I go to the developer's site and scan the 2D barcode and follow the link I'm told "There are no matches in Android Market for the search: pname:com.mobiata.flighttrack"
The developer is talking to Google about it. In the meantime, can some of my fellow Hero owners who took the recent update see if they can see FlightTrack in the Market and report it here? Then I'll know that the problem is either limited to my phone or is a general one for Heros.
Atrack Dog doesn't work too well in 2.1. I have 2.1 and the OTA patch for it. What is the best app updater now in 2.1? I like staying on top of the versions for the applications in my hero. What are you guys using.
