The shiny silver bezel around the mini USB charging port on my phone cracked and came off. No idea how it happened but about half of it is missing. I have insurance on the phone but i was wondering if this would warrant being able to return it?

In the midst of this crappy day, I dropped my Hero and cracked the outer screen. Where can I buy a new casing to replace the one I just broke? I've searched around but have found virtually no places that sell a basic faceplate.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI did some searching in the forums and could not find an answer to this. I realize it's not a major problem but it is something that is driving me nuts. This is my first Android phone and I just got it, was previously using WinMo. In my email I was able to set it so that when I was viewing an email and decided to delete it while viewing it, I would go directly back to the inbox but my Hero automatically goes to the next email on all accounts. How or can I change this?
Also, is there a way to set email so that I have a choice of which email I want to open by a list (similar to an account picker?)
How do I erase all data or do a hard reset?

Bourne to Blog: Negotiating with your Mobile Phone Carrier. I wanted to upgrade to an Android phone, but this would require a "data plan". Some time ago, I was told that since I wanted to keep my plan, I could add unlimited data for an additional $30/month and keep the plan. However, about a month ago, I emailed customer service wanting to do this with the Android phone. They told me can't do this with the Android phone, you'll have to switch to data plan (essentially losing my plan).
So, here's what I did: My dad got me an Android on his "Family Plan" along with my step-mom and step-sister. To add me onto his plan is just an additional $20 per month. So, this made the most economical sense (since I wasn't about to give up my old phone and plan).
I just cracked my screen pretty bad on my Hero. I have Cellular South and am wondering which screen I need to buy. I've looked around and it seems that there are different ones.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMorning, I dropped my HTC Hero yesterday, and although it has a tough silicon case on it unfortunately the screen has cracked top right. At first I thought it was a hair on my screen, but hairs normally blow away So you can get an idea of how thin this crack it. It goes from top left to center left.
While this doesn't seem to have had any impact on the use of the phone (for example, touch sensitivity still works in that area and the screen is perfectly usable) I'd like to replace it.
Now this phone is under a business contract account with Orange UK, but if my employer doesn't have insurance for it what options are there to replace it? I've seen there are 2 parts, the actual LCD screen and then the touch overlay on the top. I don't believe the LCD screen is damaged since it would be far worse, it just looks like the glass has cracked. Can this be replaced?
I had to drive an hour away to pick up my evo because everywhere within a reasonable distance was sold out, but i finaly caved in. I have barely a light leak under my home buton (somewhat thankful that this is my only problem haha) but i like things being perfect and i want to start exchanging evos until my standards are met. But i would like to know if i have to drive an hour or if i can drive 3 mins to the one down the block.

View 12 Replies View Relatedjust wonder if you all could take a quick look at your camera bezels around the lens for me. when i look at mine, in the top leftish part there is a small gap between the lens and the bezel. almost like the bezel it self is not completly round. seems like enough space for dust or foreign matter to get in. is it just mine? are all your glass flush on the bezel? just don't seem right. if i take the battery cover off, and press down on the bezel it makes it flush.. but is the bezel supposed to float like that? you think htc would just mail me a new bezel to stick on there? it only seems to be held on with glue of some sort. does any of this make sense at all?i have now put a small dent in the bezel from putting slight pressure on it with my finger nail.

View 2 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?

If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?
