View 9 Replies View RelatedIs this plastic really necessary? My brother says it helps protect the back of the screen from the slide out mechanism.I'm asking because some of it is starting to come off through regular use and I'm wondring if it's gonna be a problem if it is necessary and it all comes off.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased my Incredible only a few weeks after it was first released.Love it haven't had problems like a lot of the other people here when they first bought it.Anyways I love my phone. What I don't love however, is the freaking case I purchased when I first got the phone. Was a verizon snap on hard cover broke recently.Being the clutz that I am, I left the phone on my lap while in the car, and when I stepped out I forgot it was there and BOOM, clanked on the concrete.Have some abrasions on the shiny black plastic around the screen.I was wondering, is there anyway to fix this, or have it repaired? anything?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAnybody know for sure whether the Moment's screen is glass or plastic?I've looked around for the answer, but there seems to be conflicting reports. So far I'm amazed at how scratch resistant the screen is.Still pristine after heavy usage, so I'm assuming it's a glass screen. But I haven't been able to find any definitive source.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt fell off the bumber, no insurance, it got rolled over a few times. It still works fine, but the screen is completely shattered. I got a new one off ebay, actually did good, kept looking and got a brand new one, with the front cover (didn't have to separate the LCD from the glass) for $79. When I was taking it apart, instead of peeling up the whole information sticker off of the EMI shield, I peeled the thin layer of plastic off of it. My question is, is the metal that the information label is stuck to the EMI shield by itself? I would think that it is, but I want to make sure that the sticker is not some type of special material that has something to do with electromagnetic interference, and that by not putting the sticker back on I am subjecting myself or someone else to EMI. I know it is a weird question, but I'm just curious, does anybody know the answer? Here is a link to the part I am talking about.

View 1 Replies View Relatedjust wonder if you all could take a quick look at your camera bezels around the lens for me. when i look at mine, in the top leftish part there is a small gap between the lens and the bezel. almost like the bezel it self is not completly round. seems like enough space for dust or foreign matter to get in. is it just mine? are all your glass flush on the bezel? just don't seem right. if i take the battery cover off, and press down on the bezel it makes it flush.. but is the bezel supposed to float like that? you think htc would just mail me a new bezel to stick on there? it only seems to be held on with glue of some sort. does any of this make sense at all?i have now put a small dent in the bezel from putting slight pressure on it with my finger nail.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I bought my LG ally and the sales rep walked out with a bunch of cases and asked my favorite color. I chose the clear one. I love the sales rep to death cause he is actually a really good friend, however, I don't feel safe with the cheap-feeling plastic case. Its the clear one that flexes alot and stuff. DOes it really protect it?I had the body glove on my old env touch and, while working on a 3 story roof on the phone, dropped it and it landed straight on concrete. Walked down, picked it up and finished my call. On the other hand, I drop my ally out of my car on accident and the case simply falls off.if theres no benefit, i'm just going to take it off as it looks dumb.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Galaxy S came with a little piece of sticky plastic, with a cut-out hole for the lens itself, that covered the camera bezel.I assume this was just to prevent the silver bit getting scratched in transit, and not for anything important like keeping dust out of the housing, etc?I only ask because I assumed it was intended to be removed, but it was quite tricky to get off. So when I finally did get it off, I suddenly wondered if I should have done.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI had my X sent to me through the mail, which I've never done before. Always I've bought my phones in a store so the phone unboxing and set up has always been done for me. Since there was no instruction booklet I was left to my own devices. There was a little piece of plastic in the back that was marked pull or lift, so I did, thinking it was some sort of protection for the inerds while shipping. Pulled it completely off and then put the battery in. Now I think I've come to realize, that was to make pulling out the battery easier.
My question is this, is the sole purpose of that piece of plastic for pulling the battery out, or is it also protective layer between the phone and the battery? Should I get it replaced? Or am I fine leaving as is and it just being a pain to pull the battery out?
So I noticed some (protective) plastic on the back of the sliding screen today. I gave it a little flick to see if it was meant to stay, but it peeled right off. Seems to be part of the plastic films put on before shipping. Can't believe I haven't seen this in over 2 months (of course I rarely slide it open).Sliding mechanism is much smoother now and certainly not loose. It has also opened up a whole new Droid Feature: It is so shiny and reflective on the back of the slider now, if you get lost in the woods and are out of cel reception, you can use the back of the slider to reflect the sun and signal the rescue plane while still playing your favorite game to pass the time Droid does Survival tool!
View 30 Replies View RelatedWhen I bought my Captivate at the AT&T store, they tossed in a free case, which they put on the phone before I could even hold it . This transparent Plastic thing is evil, by which I mean I can't get it off. I'm afraid to take a screwdriver to it because I don't want to risk scratching the phone (that was why I got the case in the first place). Does anyone have experience with "incipio" plastic case? Do you know how to get it off safely? Can I take it in the store and have them do it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe plastic edge that runs around the lower part of the slider on my phone is a bit loose right next to where you plug the micro USB into the phone. It's very minimal, just a little bit of give that you can't actually see but if you press against it there is a slight clicking noise from the plastic edge moving slightly.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMore specifically, the rubber/plastic edge that runs around the keyboard the the edge of the keyboard itself (the piece without the letters). I got a tiny bit of super glue on that rubber/plastic (I'm sure it's plastic but it feels kind of rubbery) edge. I'm debating about trying to remove it (it's almost unnoticeable, except to me, meaning I'll notice it constantly ).I know acetone will remove super glue. I've heard that rubbing alcohol can too, which is why I would try it first (it's less caustic than acetone, less chance of damaging the plastic). Is this a bad idea? Also, if rubbing alcohol works, would the alcohol that's on alcohol wipes (like the screen cleaner wipes) work as well? They're both isopropyl so I don't see why it wouldn't (the concentrations may be different, that's the only thing I can think of). Never applied either of these two things to plastic so I'm not sure what will happen.
