Can someone help me. I turned on the playnow in mediascape and now it always force closes because of playnow. Is there a way to turn off playnow or fix the problem in anyway? A hard reset maybe?

I upgraded firmware to R2BA023 yesterday and everything seems to work fine until today.
Whenever i open mediascape, i get 'the application playnow (process com.sonyericsson.playnonowstore.android) has stopped unexpectedly, please try again. i have tried these options below but nothing works
- from manage applications
. mediascape --> clear data, clear cache, force stop
. mediascape plug-in manager --> clear data, clear cache, force stop
. playnow --> UNABLE to clear data ??
- recycle phone a few times --> power off and on
- delete task manager to make sure this app is not auto-killing mediascape
I get the force close pop-up everytime i launch mediascape. i supposed i can do a HARD reset, but i try to avoid this as i have to re-install everything.
For some reason, everytime I try to access my Mediascape it gives me an error message saying that "The application Playnow(process com.sonyericson.playnowstore.andriod) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Then it makes me force close. I have tried to reset the phone to factory setting as recommend by sony and it is still not working. Can anybody help?

Other than using Astro, anybody know other ways of Bluetoothing a file?
Love the X10 but cannot get mediascape to work, get force close message each time. Sony not responded to any of my emails and when I called they were not that helpful, could only suggest I restore to factory settings. Do not really want to do that.

View 3 Replies View RelatedTwo weeks ago I bought my new X10 and tried to install PlayNow. But PlayNow demanded an upgrade and started without the chooses of applications. It started always with the music selection and I havn't any chance to select another categorie. I made a software update for the firmware. I reinstalled PlayNow. But nothing changed. I have the german version and the mobile isn't branded. Furthermore the firmware is 1.6, baseband version 1.0.14 kernel version 2.6.29-rel with build number R1FA014.Please can you help me to get this application running?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got the X10 not long ago. Literally only a week ago to be honest. I could have sworn I saw the playnow service on there when I first booted it up. I performed an update like I was told by my provider (Rogers here in Canada) and it said there were no new updates. But when I looked just the other day the Playnow icon is missing from the Application folder. which describes others loosing the Icon as well. I've walked through it and I'm not finding it.The last post suggests going to http://m.sonyericsson.com/sam-resetplaynow through the mobile browser on the phone. What I get is a message from the sony ericsson site stating that the page has been moved or no longer exists.Is there a way to get this service back without unlocking my phone? I'll unlock it if I have to, but I really hope its not necessary.

I wonder because my old phone (Nokia 5800) allows one to have more than one application open at the same time, and it has a function to enable one to check what's running and to close anything that you don't want to run. Is it the same on the X10? If it's only possible to have one app open at the same time, that answers my question, I suppose - if I open another application, the previous one will be closed. That seems to be the case, but I checked the other day what was consuming so much battery and it turned out to be a game (Labyrinth Lite) which seemed to be running in the background. I've deleted it now, but I'd like to have a clearer understanding of how to check easily what is open.

When I help the name for a while, a menu would pop up and as soon as I entered view contact details, it forced closed. View 6 Replies View RelatedI just rooted my X10 mini pro today using the one touch root app, but i'm having really bad/annoying problems with it only things i have removed or changed is i removed some of the telstra apps that came on it and the games that had expired before i bought the phone.
But now i cant install anything from the app store because it force closes every time i try, it froze up on me earlier and the only way i could get it back was to pull the battery and since then none of the google app suite work, i tried to hard reset the phone back to factory by booting holding the app+back+power keys but that only booted into safe mode, i cant find any restore factory settings option anywhere.

But when I do this there is no Sony Ericsson option.
I was surprised that SONY is not providing a software which enables the user to sync the Xperia X10 mini pro directly with your computer (e.g. Outlook).
After wasting a lot of time I generated an account at Sony webpage and managed all my accounts including "birthday" but now I found out that the
phone is not creating a corresponding calendar entry and therefore my phone is not reminding me for any birthday.
So I did some modding (unfortunately) to the framework-res.apk file and it worked the first time and a few other times but then I changed something and now when I turn on the phone it freezes at the "Sony Ericsson" screen before the logo. What do I do?
I tried pushing the backup framework file but it says "failed to copy framework-res.apk to /sdcard/framework-res.apk: Permission denied
However, when I use adb devices, it does show my device as being attached.
So what can I do now?
I was also able to pull files...
Also tried manually putting the framework-res.apk in the sdcard and then using adb to copy it to the framework folder. Doesnt work. Saids that the directory cannot be open for read. I guess the device cant read the SD card until it boots up.
I saw that there are already a number of discussions about sony erricson synchronization but I cannot find one for this specific message: Synchronization failed. It wouldn't tell me why it failed, it just spits out that generic message after I click "Finish" in the Sony Ericsson Sync Client Wizard.
