I updated to R2BA020 firmware and then the PlayNow app disappeared. Originally the FW was xxxxx14, and that had PlayNow which I have used and downloaded a few apps from already. But after the new FW update, the PlayNow app has gone. Does anyone know how I can get it back?

View 3 Replies View RelatedTwo weeks ago I bought my new X10 and tried to install PlayNow. But PlayNow demanded an upgrade and started without the chooses of applications. It started always with the music selection and I havn't any chance to select another categorie. I made a software update for the firmware. I reinstalled PlayNow. But nothing changed. I have the german version and the mobile isn't branded. Furthermore the firmware is 1.6, baseband version 1.0.14 kernel version 2.6.29-rel with build number R1FA014.Please can you help me to get this application running?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got the X10 not long ago. Literally only a week ago to be honest. I could have sworn I saw the playnow service on there when I first booted it up. I performed an update like I was told by my provider (Rogers here in Canada) and it said there were no new updates. But when I looked just the other day the Playnow icon is missing from the Application folder. which describes others loosing the Icon as well. I've walked through it and I'm not finding it.The last post suggests going to http://m.sonyericsson.com/sam-resetplaynow through the mobile browser on the phone. What I get is a message from the sony ericsson site stating that the page has been moved or no longer exists.Is there a way to get this service back without unlocking my phone? I'll unlock it if I have to, but I really hope its not necessary.

Handscent SMS was workign fine until suddenly all my sms's dissapered from both the original/stock messaging app and from the additional Handscent app I downlaoded. Does anyone have any idea? Many have reported on other sites they have had this problem on "Android" phones especially on the 1.6 Versions. It is not nessarliy Handcent SMS related as some people's dissapered from the stock app.

I can see them in their raw form by long pressing the smiley face on the number pad, but I'm not fluent in smiley language! and also, not all of them translate anyway; I can't get the angry face anymore for example.
Is there any way of getting the smiley page to work as it did on 1.8, where the More button would bring up the pictures? (can you tell I have a banging headache this morning, having trouble with words.
On Android 1.6 I was using Timescape as my home screen. Now after installing the 2.1 update I can't set Timescape as my home screen.

So, the files are still there. Is there a way to show the folders and files, because testdisk renames all the files.

i found out that the update to 2.1 is here on three uk now when i try to update my phone using pc companion or SEUS it freezes my computer. i get to the point were i turn the phone off and turn it back on holding the back button but nothing happens and my computer just freezes up any help with this one? i am on sony ericsson x10

As you've probably guessed this is regarding not having the G mail account details to unlock my phone. I have looked through the threads on this site (amongst countless others) and nothing has been overly helpful so I figured I'd just ask Basically, I have locked myself out of my phone and can't remember the G mail details required to unlock it. Most people keep replying with "Do a software update using PC Companion" but this doesn't make sense to me as you need to have your phone unlocked to be able to connect your phone to it so that doesn't work (unless there is something painstakingly obvious that I'm overlooking?) I've done the obvious things; taking out the battery, taking out the SIM, trying every single email/password combination I've ever used but nothing is working.

When I call people sometimes every things fine, other times I need to hang up and call again because they cant hear me. Sometimes I need to call 3 or 4 times until they can hear me. I took it back to the shop where I got it and they thought it might be a software problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem? So I connect my phone to my PC to transfer the Angrybirds apk over. Then it says updates available. Foolishly, I take the update, follow all the instructions and now - it seems I've lost everything.
No contacts, no apps, no history, no ADW launcher with all the lovely themes and widgets and all the set-up I spent ages doing,...
What's going on? Have I lost it. Nothing much recovered when I tried to restore a back-up. Need to google register everything again.
I can see folders for apps that I had in the PC companion; but I can't seem to recover anything.

I have now managed to update my phone. I hadn't realised at first that I had touse the update service software, rather than going through the phone or PC Companion. Still on Android 1.6, of course, but now have baseband version 1.1.25 and kernel version 2.6.29.
At first glance, the phone doesn't seem to have changed as lot. My contacts and applications are all as they were, as far as i can tell. The only change I have seen is that I can now use a different theme for Timescape from the rest of the phone. I use the normal black background for most things, but I can use light blue, dark blue, orange, green or pink in Timescape now. I don't think I had a choice before.
Has anyone else who has been able to update noticed anythign else...?
