Does anyone know how to install creatouch w/o playnow? I had playnow before the update but now its gone and I cant seem to find a way to install the app, any suggestions?

View 2 Replies View RelatedGot a ping last night to say that there was an update available (yay!). Went through Sony Update Service and it downloaded 154MB of update and then applied it. On restart the only difference I could see was that there was a new app - Creatouch - and what appears to be a library file (com.sonyericsson...) in my app list. So two questions:
1. How come that Creatouch - which app management claims is less than 4.5MB - needs a 154MB download? What else was in that update (there's no release notes I can find for it - which would have been useful)?
2. Is there anyone in SE that I can send feedback to (Jeff/KrazyD - maybe this is question for you?). Obviously something's not right in the update if it's putting a library file into the applist where users might try and run it. I did try that (being nosy) and got an alert dialogue "The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" (which I've not done)
I thought this might be the long-awaited 2.1 update - but post install my phone's still at 1.6 (build R2BA020).Still maybe this is preparation for 2.1 and at least this update came direct from SE, rather than having to wait for my teleco to look at it.
I couldn't find Creatouch™ application in my phone. I just brought it, and its in Singapore. So may I know how do I get this Creatouch™ application on my phone?

View 3 Replies View RelatedTwo weeks ago I bought my new X10 and tried to install PlayNow. But PlayNow demanded an upgrade and started without the chooses of applications. It started always with the music selection and I havn't any chance to select another categorie. I made a software update for the firmware. I reinstalled PlayNow. But nothing changed. I have the german version and the mobile isn't branded. Furthermore the firmware is 1.6, baseband version 1.0.14 kernel version 2.6.29-rel with build number R1FA014.Please can you help me to get this application running?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI updated to R2BA020 firmware and then the PlayNow app disappeared. Originally the FW was xxxxx14, and that had PlayNow which I have used and downloaded a few apps from already. But after the new FW update, the PlayNow app has gone. Does anyone know how I can get it back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got the X10 not long ago. Literally only a week ago to be honest. I could have sworn I saw the playnow service on there when I first booted it up. I performed an update like I was told by my provider (Rogers here in Canada) and it said there were no new updates. But when I looked just the other day the Playnow icon is missing from the Application folder. which describes others loosing the Icon as well. I've walked through it and I'm not finding it.The last post suggests going to http://m.sonyericsson.com/sam-resetplaynow through the mobile browser on the phone. What I get is a message from the sony ericsson site stating that the page has been moved or no longer exists.Is there a way to get this service back without unlocking my phone? I'll unlock it if I have to, but I really hope its not necessary.

So after getting back from my short vacation I decided to write a step-by-step guide which also includes screenshots to make it easier for you First of all I will explain how to install the original HTC keybaord, then I will tell you where to customize your own HTC keyboard for those of you that prefer it customized How to install the HTC keybaord on your Xperia X10Before you start, make sure your phone is set to allow apps from unknown sources. To enable this, go to Settings > Applications and make sure Unknown Sources is checked 1. Download the HTC Keyboard here2. Open the zip archive and copy the files to your desktopAT&T users will not be able to install this keyboard using steps 3-8 as they cannot side load apps. When I download it, the X10 says Google is "protecting" me by not allowing me to install any app that is not from the App Market. I don't want to be "protected"! Is there any way to turn this message off? The only reason I got this Sony, instead of an iPhone, is because Apple won't let you choose your own browser. I thought if they wanted to control the phone that much, they wanted the phone more than I did, so I got a Sony. Is that also true of Sony? Is there another brand of Droid that isn't so "protecting"?

View 2 Replies View RelatedPlease bear with me as I am a recent convert to Android having been with Nokia and their Symbian system for years It's soooo outdated compared to Android I have been trying to install both the Swype beta apk & the HTC keyboard apk files onto my X10 for the last couple of days. I followed the instructions to get the file on my SD card and when I go to try and install it (using Astro) the phone keeps on asking me if I want to install it . I have the option in 'Unknown Sources' ticked to allow installs NOT from the market. I was going to format the SD card to see if that helps but I don't know if that will lose any system files vital to the phone. Strange thing is that the ADW Launcher installed fine and I didn't get that from the market.
