I was wondering does anyone know if it possible to download and install the playNow application for the X10.The playnow application has been removed by my operator and replaced with there music application.I don't want to debrand the phone so I was wondering if there any way to get this application.

Anyone has problem with their PlayNow in X10? Mine quit the very first time I launch the app. Since then, message will pop up every once in a while saying "The application PlayNow (process com.sonyericsson. playnowstore.android) has stopped unexpectedly. Pls try again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedTwo weeks ago I bought my new X10 and tried to install PlayNow. But PlayNow demanded an upgrade and started without the chooses of applications. It started always with the music selection and I havn't any chance to select another categorie. I made a software update for the firmware. I reinstalled PlayNow. But nothing changed. I have the german version and the mobile isn't branded. Furthermore the firmware is 1.6, baseband version 1.0.14 kernel version 2.6.29-rel with build number R1FA014.Please can you help me to get this application running?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI updated to R2BA020 firmware and then the PlayNow app disappeared. Originally the FW was xxxxx14, and that had PlayNow which I have used and downloaded a few apps from already. But after the new FW update, the PlayNow app has gone. Does anyone know how I can get it back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got the X10 not long ago. Literally only a week ago to be honest. I could have sworn I saw the playnow service on there when I first booted it up. I performed an update like I was told by my provider (Rogers here in Canada) and it said there were no new updates. But when I looked just the other day the Playnow icon is missing from the Application folder. which describes others loosing the Icon as well. I've walked through it and I'm not finding it.The last post suggests going to http://m.sonyericsson.com/sam-resetplaynow through the mobile browser on the phone. What I get is a message from the sony ericsson site stating that the page has been moved or no longer exists.Is there a way to get this service back without unlocking my phone? I'll unlock it if I have to, but I really hope its not necessary.

I know that you can create folders on the home screens, but this isn't what I want to do. I would love to be able to create a folder that I can dump all of the programs I will never use but which Sony will not allow me to delete, (you know the ones - moxier etc!!)

For the last few days I have disabled task killer, and since then haven't killed a single app. First day the phone got leggy and I had to reboot, but since then no issues. Ive installed a memory meter and it got right down to 10% available memory before it got leggy. now it averages about 35% free memory (92mb) Ive read that frequently killing background apps is not really good for the operation of the phone? Should I Install a Task Manager/Killer on My Android Device? This sounds true, or am I being suckered into the media, Should I rather leave all the apps running in the background? When I did have Task panel running most of the apps where on the auto kill list, but when ever I open task panel, all these apps are listed under active apps, but are all highlighted in red. Any idea as to why? Are these apps actually being killed or is this whole app killer a farce?

I wonder because my old phone (Nokia 5800) allows one to have more than one application open at the same time, and it has a function to enable one to check what's running and to close anything that you don't want to run. Is it the same on the X10? If it's only possible to have one app open at the same time, that answers my question, I suppose - if I open another application, the previous one will be closed. That seems to be the case, but I checked the other day what was consuming so much battery and it turned out to be a game (Labyrinth Lite) which seemed to be running in the background. I've deleted it now, but I'd like to have a clearer understanding of how to check easily what is open.

Is it just my phone or every time I attempt to take a picture it takes quite sometime after I take the picture the actual moment the picture is captured? not to mention the lag between pictures, the lack of burst mode, and another thing that is quite annoying why does the image in the camera gets so DARK when you press the camera button to focus? the image on the screen should represent the actual photo your capturing not some dark version of it one or two seconds after you click/touch the screen to capture the picture.

(I was on WiFi) This morning, I pull down the Activity bar and see that the phone thinks the Download is still continuing. I couldn't see anyway to force quit other than turning off the phone. Phone works great etc etc BUT I have a tiny problem, I can go out for the day and leave my phone at home, I'll get back and it'll say "11 Updates found" for my applications. Which i'm fine with but, as i'm not connected to a WiFi, it uses my mobile internet to connect and find these "updates" which starts eating my phone credit. I'm tired of leaving it. My phone recently decided to upgrade me from R2BA024 to R2BA024!!! (go figure), and completely wipe the usability of all my apps and settings. Now I find that, after reinstalling, the apps (espcially the widgets) like 3G Watchdog, google finance etc. don't work at all. From a file manager, I can see that there appears to be multiple folders for applications, so when my phone was "flashed", stuff was left behind that appears to interfere with my current configuration. The phone's widgets were working a treat until bloody SE PC companion screwed me over.
So, is there such software available? If not, would anyone know if doing this manually is such a good idea (strikes me as kind of a-kin to manually updating a PC's registry)?
Or failing all this - I guess it's a case of restoring the phone back to original factory settings, and starting yet again!
