On O2 UK, APN settings look OK and I have good signal... but whenever I send a picture message it sits there sending for ages and recipients get multiple copies.
This is using Handcent SMS on the GalaxHero ROM, but I was getting the same issue on stock II5.

I have this really weird problem and I'm burning to find out whether anyone else had it. Sometimes SMSs get sent twice! I don't think it is because I have accidentally added the recipient's number to the number field twice.
View 16 Replies View RelatedThis behaviour started some 2-3 weeks ago. I tried to analize what have I installed and only thing that looked like doing this was Wavesecure so I unistalled it (I had it blocked via autostarts anyway). But it didn't stop.
I'm actually not sure if it really sends any SMS. When I power on the phone and enter the PIN it shows me a "bubble" popup saying "Sending". None of my contacts reported receiving any SMS. I even tried to block "Messaging" from running at startup. Now it stoped but as soon as I start Handcent it shows the "Sedning" again. I tried to find any drafts that I may have left behind but I couldn't find any. Is there any solution to this? Handcent isn't the problem since I had it for almost 2 months without any issues.
I'm running II5, rooted.
I've recently got a Samsung Galaxy S.On my old Nokia, I used to be able to send and read SMS messages on the PC Sync software.Is it possible to send SMS messages from my PC via the Galaxy S, or even just via Android in general?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my samsun captivate a week ago and i love it! but lately its been sending old messages that i haves sent before to people without me sending them. i look in the text log and the messages are there like if i had sent them but didnt. sometimes the messages that got sent on its own dont show up tho. why is my phone doing this? should i take it back to at&t and get another one? help. i really love this phone and dnt want to get rid of it

Today I recieved a SMS from my wife and i had an option to use voice to send my reply. I don't get that option when I start HandcentSMS nor do I when I use the stock messaging app. Anyone know what app my phone might be using that has the voice option?
View 6 Replies View RelatedJust got my 1st smart phone last week (Desire) and to be honest i am still not sure what to think of it. One of the problems that i have been having is that when i start a text message and go to put the contact in all of my contacts are duplicated, even though this is not the case when i open up the People folder. Is there any way that i can get this to return to normal? Each of the duplicated contacts in the messages widget has a blank face next to it and the other has a picture of what looks like a sim card.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIve noticed that when I send a text and the phone is out of signal, it just says, "FAILED" and calls it a day. I miss my blackberry in this respect, it would wait until it DID have signal and then would automatically resend. Is there any way to set this phone up so it automatically resends when I get signal back? I do get it sometimes where it says that its saving the texts until signal is rereached, however, lets say I get one bar back, well the phone "sees" that Im getting signal, tries to send, and then fails, and then calls it a day....

I was running through some bits last night to try and squeze a bit more memory from my Galaxy. Mainly just the bits in the clearstock script.URL...This morning, I know at least 3 people have sent me text messages, which have not turned up. Of course we have had snow, so it my just be the wrong kind of snow on the cells. Is anyone else on O2 having this problem or can someone confirm the process that should be running to check for SMS's so I can see if I broke somthing.

First, it only lets me send to 10 contacts, but more importantly when I sent it the message shows up 10 times in same window. I could see he was online and so could he, and he could receive the messages I sent him. However, I couldn't receive any messages he sent me (which was unfortunate since I set up a really cool Beach Boys ringtone to go off for gchat notifications...). View 10 Replies View RelatedAlthough the promise of an Android phone is still exciting to me, I have to admit my first experience is leaving me less enthused. I was finally able to do the magic 15 second driver install and got 1.6.3.3 installed without any seeming issues. Since then it's been a long road. 1. The phone overclocks at 610, but definitely is unstable at 710. 2. I get constant FC messages. In accordance with a posting I found somewhere I got MinFreeManager and changed the defaults to: Foreground 8 Visible 10 Secondary 10 Hidden 24 Content 26 Empty 24 and that seemed to help. I also am using ADW, and wiping the Launcher.apk in /system/app seemed to help. But it's still a problem. 3. Audio and Bluetooth are problematic. I wiped the default Music.apk and tried Meridian which does seem to deal with the headphone bug. But mysteriously Meridian often plays one or two songs and then just stops. And Bluetooth A2DP is erratic and full of gaps. 4. All of these would be surmountable if it actually worked consistently as a phone, and that's were things that getting bad.......

Then all a sudden when i went back to text someone else my whole thread was gone and all my messages had been deleted. Then I try using the stock messaging app and obviously all my threads are deleted but messages send twice, any suggestions?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using Handcent for awhile. Recently been having problems with duplicate messages in Handcent. I think it started when I switched to Koush's Rom, but I can't swear to it. I use Google Voice for all my calls and text, but I send and receive my text via Handcent using my GNumber. The default client has the duplicates tos, so I don't think it is Handcent's fault but either the phone is somehow duplicating the message or the problem is with GVoice when it forwards the text to me. I can send texts just fine and no one has complained to me about recieving double texts, so I believe it is only my incoming messages. It also isn't 100% of the time, but I would say around 80%.

I've been using sms popup for over a week now and haven't had a problem until yesterday. I see some lags between switching programs and wait close apps messages..

I tried to use beutiful widgets or some other widgets but my processing power gets high (also battery usage) and force close messages are make me nuts.
But then I thing it must related to ram issues (after copilot usage) becouse we have limitted ram.. my firend have a hero and she uses copilot faster like google maps...
So I installed root required memory programs like autokiller & minfreemanager.. and readjust memory values...

When I make this changes my app launcher and other programs works faster than before and the transitions are better much better than before and less force closes...
I write it becouse I am very happy now... & just kind of information for the pros ...
Also I found problems ( no widgets or apps running behind) looking from System pannel monitoring is off
- Auto Brightness option doesn't work after restart (stays same)
- when Orientation option is selected the battery consumption is more or much more (maybe calculation)
- when the Bluetooth wifi and gps options are seleceted (means open) battery consuption or calculation is less than close...
- Bluetooth stereo has problems... buttons play pause not working stable
- Wifi doesn't connect after disconnected for a while... (screen policy set to when screen turns off)
Also advanced launcher is buggy ..
if drakaz can install adw launcher .... I am very happy ( also we can able to update it from market) becouse if i use it or other launchers dial pad contact list comes later or take time...
Android keybord don't have Turkish characters like Ş,Ğ, I, ş, ğ, ı if it's possible it is very good for us to have...
When I receive text messages they are coming in both the OEM messaging app as well as the HandScent app. I have Handscent set as my default messaging app but I still get the notifications in both apps. I have Droid1, rooted using HandScent for texting. How do I stop messages from going into the OEM messaging app?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to be on GV 100% (voice, txt, whatever else GV provides) the problem wiht this so far is that i get duplicate text messages - which is annoying the reason for my frustration as i see it is that GV is not as integrated into the phone the same way voice calls are - when you dial out, it goes out through my GV number, not my number from my carrier now, i could send a txt to someone using google's GV widget, but the problem with that is i lose the ability to click on the Messages button in the contact's info page (see pg 36 in the manual) and see my entire text history with that client bummer however, as a result of this whole stock-message-app-draining-the-battery "thing" i've jumped onboard the handcent bandwagon turns out, handcent stores its messages in the phones database/memory/whatever so that the text history is retained and accessible via that Messages button in the contact info page! nice! now.. if only you could send OUT to GV's system through these 3rd party messaging apps (thus avoiding GVs app and its inability to save/store txt msg history in the contacts page), we would be set!
Well, today i learned that when a person sends you a txt through the GV service (ie - they send you a text to your GV number), it appears to you as a 406 area code (see here - read TuXian's post) and furthermore, you can save that number in the contact's info page and send to that person using that number its not "perfect" because its not "seamless" -- the end user has to THINK - and DO SOMETHING for this system to work which is okay for us "techies" and "enthusiasts" - but for the general public, that's not gonna cut it but it seems to work at this point either HTC needs to improve teh Sense UI to incorporate content generated in the GV widget/app, or google needs to store its data in the Hero's file structure.... but this is definitely "kludgy" and they will need to a better job if they expect to rival apple and the iphone in a meaningful and significant way (ok, where did that little rant come from!)
So I just got off a half hour conversation with AT&T and We cant figure out for the life of the phone, why MMS messages cannot be sent. Although, when they did send me a small AT&T logo I did receive it. And When I sent that to myself, it did send and I received it again. I then took out my SIM and put it in my BlackBerry 9700 and MMS sent find and received fine. Any size picture. I then took a picture with the camera on the Captive in Fine, Normal and Super Fine. And each picture I tried to send to myself. Each said Compressing picture and when I go to send it, it stays on sending. That guy got so fed up he told me to Google it lol. So I did, and I see some others are having the same issue.
View 38 Replies View RelatedI did a search on this and didn't come up with any hits for the inc.If I want to send a long message (over 160 characters) I use to be able to send as mms on my bb and it would not break the message up into seperate messages like it did on regular sms.How do I do this on the Inc? I looked for a mms option when texting and didn't find one. I am using Handcent and shapewriter for a keyboard, but also looked on the stock messaging app and didn't see one there either.
