I have downloaded HandcentSMS. Great sms prog. I use my swipe keyboard to send mostly. Today I recieved a SMS from my wife and i had an option to use voice to send my reply. I don't get that option when I start HandcentSMS nor do I when I use the stock messaging app. Anyone know what app my phone might be using that has the voice option?

Most every other "issue" to this phone has been a non-issue for me to this point.However, the one feature Samsung really screwed us on is the voice capabilities of the phone.I think they are tied to the Nuance system and therefore unusable by other apps like google voice search and where.I hope samsung or sprint writes a live search app for this phone.I bought the phone with the expectations of this phone being capable of voice commands without being limited by nuance.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my samsun captivate a week ago and i love it! but lately its been sending old messages that i haves sent before to people without me sending them. i look in the text log and the messages are there like if i had sent them but didnt. sometimes the messages that got sent on its own dont show up tho. why is my phone doing this? should i take it back to at&t and get another one? help. i really love this phone and dnt want to get rid of it

I have been reading all the posts concerning battery issues and have the same problems myself. I have tried numerous tips and tricks that i have read on this forum to hopefully increase my battery life. My post today is about how to forward a text message using the moment. I upgraded from an Samsung Instict and had no problem forwarding messages using the phone; however, I do not get the option to forward when i hit the menu key when looking at a text.

This is using Handcent SMS on the GalaxHero ROM, but I was getting the same issue on stock II5.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIve noticed that when I send a text and the phone is out of signal, it just says, "FAILED" and calls it a day. I miss my blackberry in this respect, it would wait until it DID have signal and then would automatically resend. Is there any way to set this phone up so it automatically resends when I get signal back? I do get it sometimes where it says that its saving the texts until signal is rereached, however, lets say I get one bar back, well the phone "sees" that Im getting signal, tries to send, and then fails, and then calls it a day....

First, it only lets me send to 10 contacts, but more importantly when I sent it the message shows up 10 times in same window. Is that normal for android or is there some way to change that and is there something better out there to send mass texts?

It works perfect, but how can I send audio from the Music Player or from when I am playing a movie? Do I need an App to do it or is there a setting that I am missing somewhere? I could see he was online and so could he, and he could receive the messages I sent him. However, I couldn't receive any messages he sent me (which was unfortunate since I set up a really cool Beach Boys ringtone to go off for gchat notifications...). Then all a sudden when i went back to text someone else my whole thread was gone and all my messages had been deleted. Then I try using the stock messaging app and obviously all my threads are deleted but messages send twice, any suggestions?

View 13 Replies View RelatedFor anyone getting "server problem" when attempting a voice search with 2.1, it appears to be a issue with random existing gmail accounts. This feature never worked for me with the 2.1 beta. When I flashed the release, I tried every one of my 6 existing gmail accounts with no love, then I created a new account on the phone and wahlaa voice search works. Now all I have to do is export my contacts and calender to the new account and contact beyondpods author to get a new key.

I have gone through and edited the contact list and even wiped the phone out. once the contacts were gone the voice control system started up with no issue. Is the problem linked to the number of contacts and if so is there any work around?

I don't talk on the phone while driving (and sincerely wish you didn't either). While playing around with 2.1, I gave Nuance a try and I'm baffled. Has it always been this bad? Even with 1.5? I got near 100% incorrect when trying to make a call. Only once did a name I said get into the 3 name list, and it wasn't even the right person. What did I do wrong? If I didn't do something wrong, what possible use does this app have?

Im using DE03 Noobl's 1.2.3 Rom along with the Stock template DE03 and ADW Launcher. I think it may be the stock template causing this?

It states that all of the things I have on my cell will be deleted or erased so it would be best to back up some things that I may want to save. I have a text message from a friend asking to borrow money and that they will pay it back. I want to keep all of the details from that message thread just in case. I can copy and paste it to my notepad or I can forward it to my email address but neither of these have the vital information such as the day and time these messages were sent to me. I have a 16GB memory card in my phone but I can't do anything but mount or unmount it. Is there a app where I can save my text messages to either my card or computer? I want to update my phone but don't want to lose the old stuff that may be erased or deleted.

The last time I used this feature was about a month ago.Logging into my Sprint account, it appears Sprint has updated their website to include something called ZipText.This is new to me but may not actually be new. It appears to be set up to forward any texts it receives by default and the messages I expected to see did not appear there. In fact no texts appeared there.So is anyone experiencing problems receiving texts? I have tried powering down and up my phone.I have successfully sent 2 texts to different people but I do not receive their replies or new messages.I cannot see a setting that would cause this.I have gone into the "Messaging" application to send texts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI searched all through the board and couldn't find anything on this problem: When I'm talking to my wife on my Samsung Moment, she often complains she can't hear me. She says, "speak into the microphone!" Even if I speak directly into the hole in the bottom of my Moment, she still says my voice is muffled and she can't hear. When I switch to my bluetooth earpiece she hears me perfectly. I use my bluetooth all day long (this is my work phone), but then after hours, I prefer to ditch the ear-itating earpiece.
Three questions:
Is my Moment's mic busted?
Is my wife hard-of-hearing?
Must I permanently insert my earpiece, babel-fish style?
With the 2.1 update, are there any apps that can replace the sucky Nuance Voice control?I like the new Google voice search that came with 2.1.why cant Nuance work that well?Google never gets it wrong. I have trained the Nuance app, tried every setting it has and it still SUCKS.If I hear, "Did you say?" one more time I am going to scream!

I've got a Samsung Moment that had 1.5 on it for about 4 months and had Google Voice working on it just fine. Great, loved it.
I recently updated to 2.1, and everything works great on the phone EXCEPT Google Voice.
I go through the steps and it tells me "We have a problem! Your phone number could not be verified. Please try again."
I've tried a BUNCH of time, rebooted, uninstalled/reinstalled, everything I could think of.
