I'm using HTC Mail synced with my gmail account. When I compose an email or reply to an email, I seem to send duplicate messages. Does anyone know how to correct this?

I cant find an option to replay when I get an email from gmail.
Just noticed this within the last week or so. My unread count in the little green bubble for my email inboxes are off. It will have one number before I open my inbox and then another unread count within the app (before downloading any new emails). It then updates itself when I exit the messages app. Do you think it might have something to do with too many widgets on my homescreen? I don't have anything major...1x1 more icons, 1x4 smooth calendar, vibrate toggle, htc clock. Anyone else have this issue?

Calling is normal and internet works great. I've looked thru all the settings and restarted the phone with no luck. I'm not the primary account holder so I have to wait for someone to call Verizon for me.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently received my new HTC Incredible and connected to my exchange account. Everything thing seemed fine until people told me they had not received my emails. I checked and the emails were in my sent folder and appeared to have been sent. Looking into this further I was able to narrow the problem down to only NEW emails to an outside email address are not received. Any email that I reply to and any new email to someone on the same exchange server are received fine. Just new emails to an out side address are never received but are happily sitting in the sent folder.I deleted the exchange account from the phone and set it up again and had the same results. Pulled the battery, etc. I then setup my account on an HTC Hero and got the exact same results. As a side note the same setup on an iphone works fine.Searching around I think I may have narrowed the problem down to a pin issue between the HTC mail client and the Exchange Server but am not sure. Has anyone else had this issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using Handcent for awhile. Recently been having problems with duplicate messages in Handcent. I think it started when I switched to Koush's Rom, but I can't swear to it. I use Google Voice for all my calls and text, but I send and receive my text via Handcent using my GNumber. The default client has the duplicates tos, so I don't think it is Handcent's fault but either the phone is somehow duplicating the message or the problem is with GVoice when it forwards the text to me. I can send texts just fine and no one has complained to me about recieving double texts, so I believe it is only my incoming messages. It also isn't 100% of the time, but I would say around 80%.

This is using Handcent SMS on the GalaxHero ROM, but I was getting the same issue on stock II5.
I have not been able to send any email after rooting my inc. Have checked my settings. All seem to be correct.

I've been using sms popup for over a week now and haven't had a problem until yesterday. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem and If they have sms pop-up or is it a Sprint or Hero thing? TIA for any insight or solutions.

I am using the HTC mail app, to get emails from a Gmail account, which gets messages from a POP3 account. In Gmail online, I can send all messages as being sent from the Pop3 account. I cannot figure out how to do this with the HTC mail account, which makes it pretty useless. Anyone else using HTC mail and receiving and sending from different accounts? I've tried changing the outgoing server stuff, but I keep getting failed message sent errors.

1. Let it check the settings and it goes through fine.
2. Delete the POP/IMAP account off the Inc and added it back
Still can't get it to email anymore...
I want to be on GV 100% (voice, txt, whatever else GV provides) the problem wiht this so far is that i get duplicate text messages - which is annoying the reason for my frustration as i see it is that GV is not as integrated into the phone the same way voice calls are - when you dial out, it goes out through my GV number, not my number from my carrier now, i could send a txt to someone using google's GV widget, but the problem with that is i lose the ability to click on the Messages button in the contact's info page (see pg 36 in the manual) and see my entire text history with that client bummer however, as a result of this whole stock-message-app-draining-the-battery "thing" i've jumped onboard the handcent bandwagon turns out, handcent stores its messages in the phones database/memory/whatever so that the text history is retained and accessible via that Messages button in the contact info page! nice! now.. if only you could send OUT to GV's system through these 3rd party messaging apps (thus avoiding GVs app and its inability to save/store txt msg history in the contacts page), we would be set!
Well, today i learned that when a person sends you a txt through the GV service (ie - they send you a text to your GV number), it appears to you as a 406 area code (see here - read TuXian's post) and furthermore, you can save that number in the contact's info page and send to that person using that number its not "perfect" because its not "seamless" -- the end user has to THINK - and DO SOMETHING for this system to work which is okay for us "techies" and "enthusiasts" - but for the general public, that's not gonna cut it but it seems to work at this point either HTC needs to improve teh Sense UI to incorporate content generated in the GV widget/app, or google needs to store its data in the Hero's file structure.... but this is definitely "kludgy" and they will need to a better job if they expect to rival apple and the iphone in a meaningful and significant way (ok, where did that little rant come from!)
I have a server that uses User Agent header to identify the device that is connecting to it. But when i connect to the server using HttpURLConnection i get no User Agent header, but when i connect with the browser it sends the correct User Agent.
For testing i am using an echo server that replies with the headers it found on the request.
When i connect with browser i get: eg: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 1.5; en-fr; HTC Hero Build/CUPCAKE) AppleWebKit/528.5+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.2 Mobile Safari/525.20.1 Up.Link/6.3.1.20.06.3.1.20.0.
But when i connect by code with UrlConnection i get: User-Agent: UNAVAILABLE.
Does anyone know we i get different behaviors? How i can i connect in the same way the browser does?
What i really need is not only the User-Agent header, i also need some special headers (x-up-subno actually). This header is added by the APN of the operator, but for some reason when i connect by code that headers are not added to the request.

I just recently setup my email on my HTC Evo using the stock email client. I use Google Apps for my email and setup the email using IMAP. Everything appears to be working correctly.
However, tonight I noticed that the email client continues to create multiple 100+ folders called "inbox". When I click one of those folders there is nothing in the folder but it begins to download all the email that is on the server.
It looks like each time I open the email client another inbox is automatically being created. I deleted the account and started over and the same thing happens multiple inboxes are starting to be created again.
I decided I would delete the account in my stock mail client and recreated the account.
When I did this I opened the mail client and there were two inboxes from the start. Then the next time I opened there were3, then 4 and so on...It appears that every time the client opens it generates a new inbox.
Granted there is nothing in the inbox until I actually click and open the inbox when I do that the emails start downloading.
Again, using the stock email client. Setting up IMAP, using Google Apps with my own business domain for the email service.

Therefore I have to use exchange active sync to sync my work calendar whilst I am at work.
To access emails outside of work with have a email route setup and a external email host.
The short is I have to add 2 accounts under the same email address. One which will connect to the work network locally over wifi and the other that will just allow me to view work emails externally.
This has worked fine previously but since my phone has been updated to 4.4 kitkat when adding the second account it pops up with a error message about duplicate accounts.
How can i bypass this message and add the second account?
I have searched and haven't been able to find any threads with one of my issues, so I apologize in advance if I missed one. Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

View 4 Replies View RelatedOver the last couple of weeks, I've had some problems with Facebook for HTC (between contacts and FriendStream). Through performing some fixes, I've had to remove my Facebook account from the phone, and set it up again twice. Well tonight, after removing the account, I could not get ANY of my contacts to show up at all. This includes my regular Google contacts (not just the ones synced with FB. It looked like the phone was trying to sync and never loading when I opened the people app.Well, this went on for about an hour with no luck, even with rebooting several times. I finally decided to setup my Facebook account again. Sure enough, once I setup the FB account, all of my contacts showed up fine with no syncing issue. The problem is, now when I go into a contact that has no FB contact link, press the "link" icon on the top right, select Facebook, it lists multiples of ALL of my Facebook friends. Almost as if each time I setup my Facebook account again, it just re-imported all of my FB friends without replacing them.How can I delete these duplicates, or even all of my Facebook contacts / friends from my phone, and re-import them? Anyone else have this issue? It seems that removing my Facebook account from my phone not only causes problems with all of my regular Google contacts, but also doesn't delete the Facebook friends left behind on the phone.
