Samsung I7500 :: Way To Save Text Messages - Spelling Dictionary - Browsers Stored Passwords?

Im' looking to backup certain parts of my phone in case of a firmware upgrade goes haywire. Also, those are the things i want to keep... I'm looking for a way to save my text messages, my spelling dictionary and the browsers stored passwords aswell as the bookmarks. I know there are apps that does this, but I'm intrested in the "manual" way. anyone who can fill me in which directories to backup?

I was running through some bits last night to try and squeze a bit more memory from my Galaxy. Mainly just the bits in the clearstock script.URL...This morning, I know at least 3 people have sent me text messages, which have not turned up. Of course we have had snow, so it my just be the wrong kind of snow on the cells. Is anyone else on O2 having this problem or can someone confirm the process that should be running to check for SMS's so I can see if I broke somthing.

I have a Samsung Moment SM900. I see that there's a software update for my kind of phone. It states that all of the things I have on my cell will be deleted or erased so it would be best to back up some things that I may want to save. I have a text message from a friend asking to borrow money and that they will pay it back. I want to keep all of the details from that message thread just in case. I can copy and paste it to my notepad or I can forward it to my email address but neither of these have the vital information such as the day and time these messages were sent to me. I have a 16GB memory card in my phone but I can't do anything but mount or unmount it. Is there a app where I can save my text messages to either my card or computer? I want to update my phone but don't want to lose the old stuff that may be erased or deleted.

Once again, I must do a hard reset on my Samsung Moment. I love and hate this phone! My calls started randomly going directly to voice mail, then they all went directly to voice mail. Yesterday I couldn't make or receive any calls! They got that fixed today with a reprogram process, BUT, now I cannot connect to the Internet!
How do I forward/save, whatever, my text messages? Can I save them somehow to the SD card and remove it? Can I forward them to my email (without using the Internet?).
I have the messaging program that is standard, plus I use Chomp SMS mainly.

Is it possible to have all SMS (text messages) automatically stored to the SD card? I recently had to reflash my ROM and as such have lost all the messages I had stored - about 800 or so from my partner and a few semi-important ones from both work and my basketball coach.

How are security credentials/passwords stored on android phones? Are they encrypted or in other way secured in case of i.e. theft, or do I need third-party applications to secure my phone?For example, if my telephone gets stolen, would it be possible to easily get access to stored browser passwords, my google password, app passwords (e.g. login to cloud services).Are these in some way encrypted and tied to PIN, unlock code or other are they completely "in the open"?

I'm beating my head against the wall on this one. Every time I swype "how's", it suggests "hows" and "how's" doesn't appear as an option no matter how many times I manually type it in. Also, to add to the annoyance, I cannot successfully delete the non-word "hows" which suggests it's in the stock dictionary. Why? It's not even a word, and I should be able to delete words even if they come by default if I don't ever use them. This is so annoying. I use "how's" all the time and yet Swype is utterly useless for it. I have to manually type it every time. What a speed-bump.

From what I am reading I take it you can not save single text message?
If thats so then why when I try and delete one it has an option to delete locked message?
What is a locked message?
On my old phone I could save/lock a message and it would not delete unless I unlocked it.

I am trying to get a custom ringtone I made free online from a text message. I can play the ringtone from the text but can't figure out how to save it. I press the menu button and it just takes me back to the text. Any ideas?

I am wanting to save a few text messages on my Droid 2 but I can't find the option to save them. Like on the Droid 1 you can just long tap the message and lock it. I really need to lock these messages. If its impossible to lock text is there an app I can use?

Is it possible to save a picture that is sent to you using the stock messaging program on the Droid? If not what is a good replacement app will let me do this? When creating shortcuts to call or message someone is there a way to get rid of the M (H, W, etc) that is put in the upper left corner of the icon on my screen? I don't mind the little phone or convo. icons in the right corner but the M is just too big and covers up a good bit of the icon

I've got a 16gb micro SD card, and other than music and some pictures i've not really got a lot on it. My internal memory has almost been used up though, and I think this has something to do with my text messages. I was wondering if there is a way to directly save them to my micro SD card, instead of the internal memory? One of my friends, who also had a Hero, had too many text messages and her message app wouldn't open and kept crashing. I don't really want this to happen to my phone.

I've got a big big Problem. I can not save the settings of my APN. It is not a question of handling - I know where the menu button is :-) But after entering the APN-Settings and pressing the button "save" the Settings were not saved. Does anybody know how to save the APN-settings?

I am trying to find a way to stop text history being stored in the history screen not in the actual text message screen, anyone found a way to do this? I know I can untick boses but everytime you go out of the history screen and back in the blooming boxes are ticked again.

Ever since I got unlimited data plan my battery life reduced by 60%. Before I would charge my phone once in 3-4 days, with 3g on all the time I could barely go through one day.
"Data On Demand allows you to save battery by turning off your (2G/3G-) data connection manually or automatically if your device goes to standby-mode (display turns black)."
The best features of this prog is that when u put it on auto mode it will only disable 3G when ur phone goes to standby mode thus saving u a lot of battery.

On O2 UK, APN settings look OK and I have good signal... but whenever I send a picture message it sits there sending for ages and recipients get multiple copies.
This is using Handcent SMS on the GalaxHero ROM, but I was getting the same issue on stock II5.

Although the promise of an Android phone is still exciting to me, I have to admit my first experience is leaving me less enthused. I was finally able to do the magic 15 second driver install and got 1.6.3.3 installed without any seeming issues. Since then it's been a long road. 1. The phone overclocks at 610, but definitely is unstable at 710. 2. I get constant FC messages. In accordance with a posting I found somewhere I got MinFreeManager and changed the defaults to: Foreground 8 Visible 10 Secondary 10 Hidden 24 Content 26 Empty 24 and that seemed to help. I also am using ADW, and wiping the Launcher.apk in /system/app seemed to help. But it's still a problem. 3. Audio and Bluetooth are problematic. I wiped the default Music.apk and tried Meridian which does seem to deal with the headphone bug. But mysteriously Meridian often plays one or two songs and then just stops. And Bluetooth A2DP is erratic and full of gaps. 4. All of these would be surmountable if it actually worked consistently as a phone, and that's were things that getting bad.......
