Every time i receive a text in Chomp, i also get a notification for a blank message.
Has anybody else had this problem?
Also, just sent a friend a text, and they received it 3 times... i only sent it once... thinking of ditching chomp...
Anyone else had similar problems?

Starting yesterday I have been getting duplicate text messages sometimes 3 of the same one. I've been using sms popup for over a week now and haven't had a problem until yesterday. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem and If they have sms pop-up or is it a Sprint or Hero thing? TIA for any insight or solutions.

View 11 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post here. Got my Desire recently and i am loving the phone. Like other i was having battery issues but following the advice here i was able to extend the battery life considerably, so im hoping someone here may know something about an issue om having.
Im using the Handscent app for text messaging. However over the last week or so when i go to open a new message, the application freezes and shuts down. When i go to open it again all my messages are deleted. They are also missing in the standard messaging app that came with the phone.
Has this happened to anyone else? If it did did you find a way to stop it happening?
Is there a way to stop my text messages appearing in my status bar and on my unlock screen? All I want is an icon and a sound!

I started getting duplicate sms messages in both handcent and the stock text messaging app. So i wiped data/cache and tried it again and got the same thing. So today i downgraded to 2.3.13 to see if it would fix it...same issue. Can anybody tell me why im getting duplicate sms message all of a sudden?

I was able to get this far (with some help) but I'm a little stuck. When you click the screen to display a new word, how can I make sure the word hasn't been displayed from the array already. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using Handcent for awhile. Recently been having problems with duplicate messages in Handcent. I think it started when I switched to Koush's Rom, but I can't swear to it. I use Google Voice for all my calls and text, but I send and receive my text via Handcent using my GNumber. The default client has the duplicates tos, so I don't think it is Handcent's fault but either the phone is somehow duplicating the message or the problem is with GVoice when it forwards the text to me. I can send texts just fine and no one has complained to me about recieving double texts, so I believe it is only my incoming messages. It also isn't 100% of the time, but I would say around 80%.

This is using Handcent SMS on the GalaxHero ROM, but I was getting the same issue on stock II5.
I'm using HTC Mail synced with my gmail account. When I compose an email or reply to an email, I seem to send duplicate messages. Does anyone know how to correct this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis behaviour started some 2-3 weeks ago. I tried to analize what have I installed and only thing that looked like doing this was Wavesecure so I unistalled it (I had it blocked via autostarts anyway). But it didn't stop.
I'm actually not sure if it really sends any SMS. When I power on the phone and enter the PIN it shows me a "bubble" popup saying "Sending". None of my contacts reported receiving any SMS. I even tried to block "Messaging" from running at startup. Now it stoped but as soon as I start Handcent it shows the "Sedning" again. I tried to find any drafts that I may have left behind but I couldn't find any. Is there any solution to this? Handcent isn't the problem since I had it for almost 2 months without any issues.

I want to be on GV 100% (voice, txt, whatever else GV provides) the problem wiht this so far is that i get duplicate text messages - which is annoying the reason for my frustration as i see it is that GV is not as integrated into the phone the same way voice calls are - when you dial out, it goes out through my GV number, not my number from my carrier now, i could send a txt to someone using google's GV widget, but the problem with that is i lose the ability to click on the Messages button in the contact's info page (see pg 36 in the manual) and see my entire text history with that client bummer however, as a result of this whole stock-message-app-draining-the-battery "thing" i've jumped onboard the handcent bandwagon turns out, handcent stores its messages in the phones database/memory/whatever so that the text history is retained and accessible via that Messages button in the contact info page! nice! now.. if only you could send OUT to GV's system through these 3rd party messaging apps (thus avoiding GVs app and its inability to save/store txt msg history in the contacts page), we would be set!
Well, today i learned that when a person sends you a txt through the GV service (ie - they send you a text to your GV number), it appears to you as a 406 area code (see here - read TuXian's post) and furthermore, you can save that number in the contact's info page and send to that person using that number its not "perfect" because its not "seamless" -- the end user has to THINK - and DO SOMETHING for this system to work which is okay for us "techies" and "enthusiasts" - but for the general public, that's not gonna cut it but it seems to work at this point either HTC needs to improve teh Sense UI to incorporate content generated in the GV widget/app, or google needs to store its data in the Hero's file structure.... but this is definitely "kludgy" and they will need to a better job if they expect to rival apple and the iphone in a meaningful and significant way (ok, where did that little rant come from!)
I'm getting this problem constantly where I send someone a text and they recieve a blank text next to my name. I can see the text in my chat but they cannot.

Alright call me cheap, but I only have the $5 250 messages on my plan but it suits me just fine I never go over.Well i just got my bill and wouldnt you know I went over by almost double. Turns out more often then I thought I was sending blank texts and double texts. People weren't saying anything to me because they thought that it was just user error but when it kept happening people finally started saying something to me.Its not worth trying to argue with verizon over it, its like $14, so I will just up my plan a bit, but just watch it.For some of you its moot because you have unlimited, but for those that dont just thought I would share.

However every time I open up the SMS app and try and search for a contact it display each contact about 5 or 6 times. I have checked the people app and I am certian that there no duplicates. I don't use facebook so no contacts there and I dont sync gmail contacts. remove these duplicate entries

Now while I have hidden the sim card contacts so everything looks ok on the people screen, if i go into a contact and look at what it is linked to there is 3 versions of the contact all on the phone and all just with the number. Is there an easy way to sort this out? or should I just delete all my phone contacts and import from sim again?

In my contacts, I've got it set to only show Phone contacts, and I've hidden Sim/Gmail contacts. I've also linked all my contacts with their Facebook profiles. So in my contacts list (People), it's fine. However, when I go to messaging and start typing a name in the To field, there's a duplicate of everyone. As far as I can see, there's no similar "hide SIM" option etc for the texting/calling, so I'm just wondering how to sort this? I saw someone to try deleting all phone contacts and just using your SIM contacts but to be honest I'd rather not do this, since I like to just use my SIM contacts as a basic backup if you get me.

One of the problems that i have been having is that when i start a text message and go to put the contact in all of my contacts are duplicated, even though this is not the case when i open up the People folder. Is there any way that i can get this to return to normal? Each of the duplicated contacts in the messages widget has a blank face next to it and the other has a picture of what looks like a sim card.

Is the phone faulty or is there some setting that I can change. I downloaded ChompSMS hoping that would fix it, but it doesn't appear to. When I open my text messaging program, many times it will send a blank text to the last person I texted. The other day, I turned the phone off and turned it back on and it sent a blank text at the exact time I turned it on.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Desire has suddenly stopped recognizing my 4GB SD Card today. Just says it's blank and needs formatting! When I try to access the card via my PC it just wants to format it but when I bring up the format window the PC only sees 30MB and a format of FAT. The Properties show it formatted as RAW. The Error Notification I get is: Blank SD Card - SD Card blank or has unsupported file system. Is my card fried or is there a way out of this?
View 35 Replies View RelatedThe thing is that time to time my device does not respond to screen touch. For instance: then there is an incoming call it stays blank and I can not see who is calling and at the same time not able to answer it.
Touching the screen does nothing, only after pushing hard buttons, I am able to terminate the call. Also, when I am trying to access the OS from sleep mode by pressing the power button--there is no home screen--it stays blank. The only thing it does---the lights go on the home, menu, back and search buttons.
I did contact ot HTC help service and they told me to try to use the device in safe mode for two days. (this should terminate all 3rd party applications, that might cause the issue). Its my first day that I am use is in the safe mode and so far I do not experience any problems.
I do suspect that the reason of my problem could be the task killer that I am using in order to eliminator some programs running in background. But I did try out several task killers so far, however the issue remains the same
