Samsung I7500 :: Not Getting Text Messages

I was running through some bits last night to try and squeze a bit more memory from my Galaxy. Mainly just the bits in the clearstock script.URL...This morning, I know at least 3 people have sent me text messages, which have not turned up. Of course we have had snow, so it my just be the wrong kind of snow on the cells. Is anyone else on O2 having this problem or can someone confirm the process that should be running to check for SMS's so I can see if I broke somthing.

Im' looking to backup certain parts of my phone in case of a firmware upgrade goes haywire. Also, those are the things i want to keep... I'm looking for a way to save my text messages, my spelling dictionary and the browsers stored passwords aswell as the bookmarks. I know there are apps that does this, but I'm intrested in the "manual" way. anyone who can fill me in which directories to backup?

On O2 UK, APN settings look OK and I have good signal... but whenever I send a picture message it sits there sending for ages and recipients get multiple copies.
This is using Handcent SMS on the GalaxHero ROM, but I was getting the same issue on stock II5.

Although the promise of an Android phone is still exciting to me, I have to admit my first experience is leaving me less enthused. I was finally able to do the magic 15 second driver install and got 1.6.3.3 installed without any seeming issues. Since then it's been a long road. 1. The phone overclocks at 610, but definitely is unstable at 710. 2. I get constant FC messages. In accordance with a posting I found somewhere I got MinFreeManager and changed the defaults to: Foreground 8 Visible 10 Secondary 10 Hidden 24 Content 26 Empty 24 and that seemed to help. I also am using ADW, and wiping the Launcher.apk in /system/app seemed to help. But it's still a problem. 3. Audio and Bluetooth are problematic. I wiped the default Music.apk and tried Meridian which does seem to deal with the headphone bug. But mysteriously Meridian often plays one or two songs and then just stops. And Bluetooth A2DP is erratic and full of gaps. 4. All of these would be surmountable if it actually worked consistently as a phone, and that's were things that getting bad.......

I did attempt to use the search feature here but didnt come up with the results I was looking for (or maybe I used it wrong?) I ask the following questions because unfortunately, I dont have good eyesight.
1. Regarding font size. I realize there is no current setting for font size on this phone (that I know of) does anyone here know if the upcoming 2.1 update will include that?
2. I know there is a text size option for the browser. However, it doesent seem to work on most websites I go to (like CNN for example) I try setting it at different sizes and nada. So far my browsing experience hasent been that good because of this (having to constantly strain my eyes looking at website text) Any tips on why the text size option doesent seem to work?
3. is there anyway to increase the text size of emails and text messages?

I have installed my 128 mb galaxy i7500 galaxo 1.6.3 ( with new patch)
I see some lags between switching programs and wait close apps messages..
I think everyone see such mesegase...
I tried to use beutiful widgets or some other widgets but my processing power gets high (also battery usage) and force close messages are make me nuts.
But then I thing it must related to ram issues (after copilot usage) becouse we have limitted ram.. my firend have a hero and she uses copilot faster like google maps...
So I installed root required memory programs like autokiller & minfreemanager.. and readjust memory values...
I make
Foreground 8 mb
Visible App 10
Secondary server 12
Hidden app 24
Content Provider 26
Empty app 24
When I make this changes my app launcher and other programs works faster than before and the transitions are better much better than before and less force closes...
I write it becouse I am very happy now... & just kind of information for the pros ...
Also I found problems ( no widgets or apps running behind) looking from System pannel monitoring is off
- Auto Brightness option doesn't work after restart (stays same)
- when Orientation option is selected the battery consumption is more or much more (maybe calculation)
- when the Bluetooth wifi and gps options are seleceted (means open) battery consuption or calculation is less than close...
- Bluetooth stereo has problems... buttons play pause not working stable
- Wifi doesn't connect after disconnected for a while... (screen policy set to when screen turns off)
Also advanced launcher is buggy ..
if drakaz can install adw launcher .... I am very happy ( also we can able to update it from market) becouse if i use it or other launchers dial pad contact list comes later or take time...
Android keybord don't have Turkish characters like Ş,Ğ, I, ş, ğ, ı if it's possible it is very good for us to have...

Is it possible to change this? It cannot be changed through notification ringtone menu; all that succeeds in doing is changing tone for other notifications like email etc. Have tried to select other notification tones, but it is the "tada" tone that always comes up when SMS is received. Can the tone for receiving SMS be changed, and if so, how?

On i7500, is there a way of turning off or on notifications for
* Text Message
* GoogleMail
* Email (IMAP)
* Other
What I really want is a (configurable) notification sound for Text messages, and different sound for gmail/email, and be able to turn all independently on/off. I found the Generic Email (Menu->Account Settings->EmailNotifications) which can turn this on/off, but not configure the sound. Quite happy with the default, installed Text app so can this be done without having to install other apps, if not, which apps will allow me to to do this. Does anyone know how to save your call and text history so that you can reload it after a factory reset. I find it very useful to be able to look back over my text history. Sadly I lose this when I update my phone and do a factory reset.

I have a Samsung Moment SM900. I see that there's a software update for my kind of phone. It states that all of the things I have on my cell will be deleted or erased so it would be best to back up some things that I may want to save. I have a text message from a friend asking to borrow money and that they will pay it back. I want to keep all of the details from that message thread just in case. I can copy and paste it to my notepad or I can forward it to my email address but neither of these have the vital information such as the day and time these messages were sent to me. I have a 16GB memory card in my phone but I can't do anything but mount or unmount it. Is there a app where I can save my text messages to either my card or computer? I want to update my phone but don't want to lose the old stuff that may be erased or deleted.

I have had my captivate for a couple weeks now and everything has been great. All of a sudden today I stopped receiving text messages. I can send them just fine. Nothing incoming though. I checked the max per thread and all that stuff.

I only have the 200 text message plan, and with my old phone I didn't really text much. But now that I've learned how to use swype, I find myself texting a lot more. Is there an app that I can set a limit on the number of texts in a time span?

I have an issue on my new Captivate where the text messages don't appear in order. It seems it only sorts them by a minute time stamp versus seconds. It's not an issue if they are more than a minute apart, but if I get a text say at 4:30:01 and send a reply at 4:30:15 and get a reply back at 4:30:45, it will put my outgoing text on top followed by the 2 text I received below that. Where it should be received text, reply text, and receive text. Not sure if that made sense or not, but if you were to number them 1,2,3 in order of actual time, it's listing them in 2,1,3 order. It's not a huge deal but it's annoying to me. My iPhone did not do this. Is there a fix for this?

It seems I cannot receive texts today.I rarely use this feature but was informed by a friend that he had texted me and wondered why I did not respond. The last time I used this feature was about a month ago.Logging into my Sprint account, it appears Sprint has updated their website to include something called ZipText.This is new to me but may not actually be new. It appears to be set up to forward any texts it receives by default and the messages I expected to see did not appear there. In fact no texts appeared there.So is anyone experiencing problems receiving texts? I have tried powering down and up my phone.I have successfully sent 2 texts to different people but I do not receive their replies or new messages.I cannot see a setting that would cause this.I have gone into the "Messaging" application to send texts.

the messaging process froze when I tried to read a text using Social Hub. A force close didn't seem to make any difference clicked back to the home screen, powered off, waited a minute and restarted.Everything started up fine. Went back to Social Hub only to find that ALL my text threads are gone.E-mails are fine, but all my texts are gone.I know there is no way to undelete text messages, but technically I didn't delete them. They must be stored somewhere. Is they anyway to retrieve them or has the system "deleted" them? Only had the phone just over a month *sobs* - I got rid of my iPhone (which successfully kept every message ever despite several crashes)

So today I went to my messages and noticed that all of my old ones were gone. I have the Delete Old Messages option off. Is there another setting somewhere that I am missing? Does it just delete all messages no matter what once it gets to a certain capacity?

Anyone have this issue where some people do not get your sent text messages? I seem to receive text messages without problems but sending text messages does not get to certain people. One colleague at work who is on ATT can send me a text but does not receive mine in return. Similar stories for some other contacts of mine and some are on Verizon as well.

Ive noticed that when I send a text and the phone is out of signal, it just says, "FAILED" and calls it a day. I miss my blackberry in this respect, it would wait until it DID have signal and then would automatically resend. Is there any way to set this phone up so it automatically resends when I get signal back? I do get it sometimes where it says that its saving the texts until signal is rereached, however, lets say I get one bar back, well the phone "sees" that Im getting signal, tries to send, and then fails, and then calls it a day....
