i am trying to update my moment to 2.1 and i make it all the way through the update process until i press start download. after i press start download it says ready... on the status bar. i left it for about 90 mins and nothing changed. i have done this 3 separate times with the same result each time. i will be thrilled with any information that might help me for i desperately crave 2.1!!!

I've got some photos stuck in an MMS that I tried to download before I realised that I didnt have the correct MMS APN settings in (due to swapping to the Modaco ROM). The correct settings are now in but the MMS is stuck at "downloading" status. Is there any way I can rescue it, there is no forward option and I've successfully sent and recieved MMS since.

After the person hung up, I saw that the first call I made was on "hold", so I switched to it, and tried to hang up. But the phone would not hang up. Noting I did would end the phone call. I could use the dial pad, I could go to the home screen, but the phone call would not end. I held the "end" button down and nothing happened, and I couldn't get out of the phone call. So I finally popped the battery cover, and pulled the battery to reset the phone.

I removed GoogleTalk which seems to be the route of the issue and now I can't seem to get it back. Also, ever since then I get the following error message upon booting: "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. dumpstate_app_201008021101_com_google_process_gapp s.log has been saved. Use *#9900# to copy out log." I'd rather not have to factory reset since I'm already rooted and was just getting things the way I liked them.

View 31 Replies View RelatedWhen I get picture texts, it comes up with a play button in the message thread. Clicking it will 'play' the image for 10 seconds, and I found out I can tap the screen and hit pause to look at the pic longer... but I can't figure out how to save the image. I've tried:
holding finger on the play button in-thread
holding finger on the image
hitting the menu button on either page
with no success.
Trying to download and save files off the net, whether from ftp sites or sites, getting an insufficient space error. I have 533MB free on my SD card and 308MB free on the internal storage.

View 7 Replies View RelatedFor those of you familiar with this problem, it's when your Moment's signal bars displays an "x" but is stuck in AIRPLANE MODE. When you hold down the END button to pull up the 3 item menu you see this (note that it says AIRPLANE MODE IS ON):
Silent Mode
(Sound is ON)
Airplane Mode
(Airplane Mode is ON)
Power Off
So I battery pulled the phone...didn't work. I then did the VOLUME UP/CALL/END button hold down trick to bring up the root menu and did the Master Reset (which took my phone back to stock + wiped out all of my apps and data so BACKUP YOUR PHONE FIRST):
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Baseband Version: S:M900.8.OS.DI06
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
Build Number: ECLAIR.DJ07
...didn't work
I then went into the root menu again and did the REBOOT, still nothing
I then proceeded to get mad and hit the phone a few times and BANG, the signal came back and has been back since (2 days running).
Is there something in the hardware configuration I can change to fix this lock-up issue? If I open up the phone, is there something I can do to fix this? Please someone help...obviously my solution won't last as a fix
I really wanted to get the Samsung Moment and was planning to get it on November 1st, but because the uncertainty of the feasibility of upgrading to Android 2.0 I decided to wait. With all the hoopla about Google's new GPS navigation software for Android 2.0 I don't want to risk being left behind, who knows what else I would be missing out in the future if I am stuck with Android 1.5. The perfect Android device for me would have a Snapdragon 1 Gz processor, run Android 2.0 (preferably stock), have a physical keyboard and would be for either T-Mobile or Sprint. Android 2.0 and the carriers are non negotiable, everything else I may be willing to give up.
I'll take Android 2.0 with a custom GUI if I have to, although I would prefer stock. I think I read somewhere that the Sony X3/X10/Infinity will use the T-Mobile 3G bands and will run Android 2.0 with a custom GUI. It doesn't meet all my criteria but it is the closest I can find of all the rumored or announced Android phones (the hardware is nothing to sneeze about, by the way). If the Sony device is really for T-Mobile and is running 2.0 then it looks like this will be the one for me. Can't wait for Sony's big announcement next week.
My samsung moment (NOT rooted with 2.1) gets stuck in a boot loop when I restart it. After about 10 mins the lock screen comes up and if I unlock it quick enough the phone runs fine but if I dont unlock it within a certain period of time it will just go back into booting up and go back to showing the samsung logo.
The phone has been running very sluggish since Ive been experiencing this and Im about to do a factory data reset but I dont feel like reloading all my apps and redoing all my settings. Does anyone know of a way to fix this without resetting the whole phone? anyone else experiencing the same thing? any help would be appreciated. Im about to get a blackberry, I love the android when it works but it just seems the slightest adjustment to the phone sends the whole thing haywire. Living with this aggrevation is becoming not worth it.
I have loaded the Dolphin browser as my default browser and the google homepage is stuck in Spanish. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times and nothing changes. The only way to view it in english is to scroll down to the bottom of the google homepage and press "Google.com in in English". Once I close the browser and come back its back in Spanish. Any ideas or suggestions?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to download Life360 & it's stuck in downloading mode when I try to download it throught the play store. Nothing ever dowloads, I just see the horizontal bar with the download indicator "downloading".
When I try to get it downloaded from my computer to my phone by sending the link, I click on the link & get the message that it is already installed but then it starts trying to download the app with the message "Waiting for Wi-Fi". I don't use Wi-FI and I never knew this needed Wi-Fi to download. I dont' care to be charged for Wi-Fi.
How can I get this downloaded and why would I get a message that it is installed but get the above happening (i looked everywhere on my phone & it's not installed)?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried flashing a stock Android 4.2 JB ROM that seems legit. After flashing, I rebooted my device and saw the standard Nexus boot animation. So far, I though all was well. It's not. My phone has been stuck in this constant booting state for hours. I pulled the battery after an appropriate amount of waiting and held down the power and volume down+up button. Instead of booting into Fastboot mode, it went straight to Odin Mode. All I can do with my device is boot to Odin Mode or watch the Nexus boot animation over and over again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy captivate seems to keep freezing when doing things, most notably when I goto my downloads on the market, using Zedge to download a new wallpaper or using juiceplotter and just opening it, I get a black screen and it sits for a period of time approx a min or two...anyone else having these types of issues. I did do a factor reset this morning and also installed adw.launcher, but it still does it when using those programs and some others just can't remember which ones right off hand. thanks!!
