Trying to download and save files off the net, whether from ftp sites or sites, getting an insufficient space error. I have 533MB free on my SD card and 308MB free on the internal storage.

Some time ago...I estimate a week at most, I received an error when simply saving a file from my Browser, stating there was not enough space to do so. Knowing my phone had mre than adequate space, I presumed it was just an error with my browser.
Trying again with a different internet browser, I was met again with the same dilema. To make matters worse, I cannot permanently delete picture files from the default viewer on my phone. Queerily, I can delete them, only to have the pictures return hours later. To make my situation more unusual; Upon viewing the SD card mounted on my laptop, I can move, add & delete any form of files with ease. Even saving/deleting other files using different apps (Videobox, for example) gives me no hassle whatsoever.
One solution I'm willing, but at the same time reluctant to try is to reset my phone entirely to it's factory default setting (prior to backing up all of my SD card's data, of course)
Since 2.2 I have been unable to download anything and only get an error message after it takes you to the download screen. This is happening on the stock browser as well as skyfire. Am I missing something? This worked fine in 2.1.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been having 3G issues on my captivate for a while. I can browse the web just fine and email, text, mms all fine. But downloading apps or things that need continuous internet download (i.e. speed test) will start then stop very slowly. The 3G window in the status bar will then flash occasionally but primarily stay unlit. I've hoped that it would continue to download, but after leaving my phone with the screen off for over an hour with an app downloading (only 2mb) gone from 20kb downloaded to 50kb and my battery went from 80 to 30. This happens for every app I attempt to download over 3G (wifi is perfectly fine) no matter what the size. Any idea why it seems to put the download into the background. I'm currently running cognition mod v2.3b2. This has happened on all versions of cognition I've had. I'm pretty sure it happened while I had stock 2.1 also.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi am trying to update my moment to 2.1 and i make it all the way through the update process until i press start download. after i press start download it says ready... on the status bar. i left it for about 90 mins and nothing changed. i have done this 3 separate times with the same result each time. i will be thrilled with any information that might help me for i desperately crave 2.1!!!

View 31 Replies View RelatedWhen I get picture texts, it comes up with a play button in the message thread. Clicking it will 'play' the image for 10 seconds, and I found out I can tap the screen and hit pause to look at the pic longer... but I can't figure out how to save the image. I've tried:
holding finger on the play button in-thread
holding finger on the image
hitting the menu button on either page
with no success.
I just switched from AT&T to sprint and I am having a hard time downloading SMS messages. I can send them but everytime I hit the download button for a message I get an error message saying that download was unsuccessful. Does anyone else have this problem? Could it be because I am a new customer and this is the first day?

So I'm at work (I'm in the Army), and someone who recently got a Droid was asking about not being able to browse the web while in the middle of a phone call. Someone else who had an iPhone said they could do this. But the person with the Droid tested it, made a phone call and was not able to bring the browser up.
View 20 Replies View RelatedHas anyone here had experience with Sprints internet speed slowing down? I have 2 Samsung Moments and the internet speed was great for months. A couple weeks ago they both slowed to a crawl. I have noticed that this is in the area that I live (Chesterfield, MI) and if I am in other areas it works pretty well. As soon as I get home it is crap. No Pandora, nothing streaming works for crap, and even basic pages like Craigslist take a minute or so to load.
An internet speed test usually shows around 100 or less kb/s for downloading and 200-300 for uploading. Download speeds were at least 500 before this snafu.
Maybe a tower out or something? I thought of calling Sprints customer care, but from previous experience with real technical questions, I don't think I will get anything more than a "company" answer.
anyone else having this problem? using 2.1 under caulkin's kernel. it seems like I can kind of overload the phone doing too much and the mobile network connection on my phone will disappear completely. this is while downloading something that may download too fast, sometimes it happens loading .GIF images too. I'll have to restart the phone to get the internet back. this happens no matter if I'm using wireless, USB or bluetooth tethering.

Recently, when I was using the browser or anything that uses the 3g connection, it would just stop communicating and nothing would get loaded. If I waited a while (an hour) it would sometimes come back or I would have to do a reboot in order to get back the connection. Anyone else running into this problem? What should I do?

Holding volume down camera and end wont do anything but maybe 1 out of 100 times. When it finally gets to the download screen the updater just sits and says ready and never downloads. Then after a minute of that the phone exits that screen automatically and just goes to a charging screen. PLEASE HELP my phone isnt even a phone currently it will do nothing.
Every time i try and look for and update like PRL firware or anything i always get an error message saying there is no network connection. and this also happens when i run the devices self service 1.1. But the thing is right after i try one of those things i wait a minute or so then open up the browser and have a fine a connection.

1. With your JAD & JAR files, go to: Get APK and convert to an APK file
2. Save your APK file onto your SD card
3. Download AppManager (one word) or comparable program that allows you to install from your SD card
4. Install Java J2ME Runner App
5. Using AppManager, install the created apk file from your SD card
Your file should be found both in your main folder; as well as in the J2ME's "App Manager". You may need to play with the configuration to get the program to fit alright. I have Auto detect Game Canvas clicked; but have had to change it for a few games.It's not perfect, but it seems to work alright with some of my old java games.
I first reported this error msg here I am getting this error msg while replying to a threaded txt msg it happens at random sometimes but on the average between 7-10 msgs deep. I cannot make any sense of this because if it was a format issue of how I have my contact entered then why would it allow me to respond to the msg until I get the error. I know looking at the image below you cannot see my previous replies but trust me I am able to reply to txt msg's. I will mention this I do have my line blocked so my contact entries are as follows *821732-555-5555 mobile pager 732-555-5555 <<This is the one I txt to the other number example is the one I select for when calling the person so the number is unlocked.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i have had the Moment (on Sprint) for a while now, and there is one problem i can't seem to fix. The phone seems to constantly drop the area code off of ALMOST all messages I recieve from just one specific contact. So when I go to reply to that person, i get a 9230 error (not using a ten digit number) and i have to go to my contacts screen and choose to send a new message from there. Anyone have any ideas to fix? I have tried clearing the cache and using a different SMS software, all with the same problem.

Can i safely delete files through my pc's file manager (while tethered) rather than through the phone it self, files such as pictures and music? In the Android music player, many of the albums (classical, mostly), were all jumbled together in an "Unknown artist" file. The instruction book for the phone says I should not use my computer to create new folders, or rename folders, on the SD. HOw, then do I delete and rearrange music files? I don't see a prompt for creating folders in the app on the phone.
