Aug 2, 2010So I understand there are known issues with the Market getting stuck at "Starting Download" but here's my problem. I removed GoogleTalk which seems to be the route of the issue and now I can't seem to get it back. Also, ever since then I get the following error message upon booting: "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. dumpstate_app_201008021101_com_google_process_gapp s.log has been saved. Use *#9900# to copy out log." I'd rather not have to factory reset since I'm already rooted and was just getting things the way I liked them.

Jul 24, 2010My captivate seems to keep freezing when doing things, most notably when I goto my downloads on the market, using Zedge to download a new wallpaper or using juiceplotter and just opening it, I get a black screen and it sits for a period of time approx a min or two...anyone else having these types of issues. I did do a factor reset this morning and also installed adw.launcher, but it still does it when using those programs and some others just can't remember which ones right off hand. thanks!!

But there has to be an update for google maps by now.We are at 3.1.2 i think.When i search for google maps in the market, i get everything but google maps.I was trying to get infinity web browser as well, and this never shows up for me. But it is in the market.Just as Google's website says that google maps is on the market, and they dont offer a download.So, is sprint/Samsung blocking stuff in the market? do we have our own special market or something? I'm not seeing to many apps that say "must have root access" either.

Mar 30, 2010I have only had my phone for a few days and i'm starting to have some problems with downloading apps. At first I had no problems I downloaded 8 or 9 of them and they installed fine. Then I was not able to download anymore. Each one I tried to download said "download failed and did not install. When I looked at my status bar it showed 10 or 12 apps that did not download. So I did a factory reset and cleared everything out and started again. The same thing happens I get 5 or 6 and then the rest give my error saying not downloaded and not installed. So again I did a factory reset and tried again and came across the same prob. I got a few and then no more. I do not have a data plan yet. So I'm just using the wifi in my house. The ones that did not download i left them over night thinking they might get done by morning but no luck.

Sep 3, 2010i took the captivate on the road and used it as navigation. it worked great for the first 3 hours of the trip, reception or not. i was amazed until i received a notice that my phone internal app memory is low and i need to uninstall my apps. theres no way my memory should be full because i've checked it every few days and i've had 1.6 gb free. all of a sudden i've got 126mb. i'm guessing that Google maps had downloaded the maps in advanced and had just filled up the internal memory. unfortunately i have no clue how to clear the maps. until i can figure this out i cant receive emails, or texts or any messages because the memory is full. does someone know how to clear the old maps from the navigation app? i'm on the road so i havent been able to look at it extensively. i will research it more when i get a chance and post anything i find.

Nov 3, 2010I have been having 3G issues on my captivate for a while. I can browse the web just fine and email, text, mms all fine. But downloading apps or things that need continuous internet download (i.e. speed test) will start then stop very slowly. The 3G window in the status bar will then flash occasionally but primarily stay unlit. I've hoped that it would continue to download, but after leaving my phone with the screen off for over an hour with an app downloading (only 2mb) gone from 20kb downloaded to 50kb and my battery went from 80 to 30. This happens for every app I attempt to download over 3G (wifi is perfectly fine) no matter what the size. Any idea why it seems to put the download into the background. I'm currently running cognition mod v2.3b2. This has happened on all versions of cognition I've had. I'm pretty sure it happened while I had stock 2.1 also.

May 17, 2010While playing around with Titanium, I was prompted to enable USB Debugging. I remembered having turned this on pre-2.1 for PDANet. However, when I plugged my phone into my PC via USB, it didn't recognize it. So I thought maybe I'd reinstall PDANet to get whatever drivers it loaded to use the USB in Debug mode. I did that, and installed the Samsung USB driver it says to install, but it keeps telling me during PDANet install that it doesn't have the driver. Anyone have any advice here?

Nov 1, 2010I'm running BB v.05 w/ Chevy no 1 ulowV 1.0Ghz Whenever I switch batteries or restart my phone, a lot of my apps need updating (updates that have already been downloaded). Also, Beautiful Widgets and the southpark photohunter (something a friend tried to download for a reason unknown) are in a constant state of downloading. When I try to cancel the downloads, market simply offers the "Sorry! the application market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again." pop up.Along with those problems, I tend to get a security update change notification at least 2 or 3 times for the email application (not the google one) every time I restart my phone.After searching forums the first day I encountered these problems (when I got the bb update) I decided to just ignore the problems until people had time on their own with their new setup.
