Samsung Captivate :: Market Getting Stuck When Start Downloading

So I understand there are known issues with the Market getting stuck at "Starting Download" but here's my problem. I removed GoogleTalk which seems to be the route of the issue and now I can't seem to get it back. Also, ever since then I get the following error message upon booting: "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. dumpstate_app_201008021101_com_google_process_gapp s.log has been saved. Use *#9900# to copy out log." I'd rather not have to factory reset since I'm already rooted and was just getting things the way I liked them.

I've got some photos stuck in an MMS that I tried to download before I realised that I didnt have the correct MMS APN settings in (due to swapping to the Modaco ROM). The correct settings are now in but the MMS is stuck at "downloading" status. Is there any way I can rescue it, there is no forward option and I've successfully sent and recieved MMS since.

Just got my Incredible and really loving it but there's a small bug in the market app.The apps I download install fine, but they stay stuck at the currently downloading section at the top. Is this happening to anyone else?EDIT: Uninstalling market updates, deleting cache + reboot fixed it.

i am trying to update my moment to 2.1 and i make it all the way through the update process until i press start download. after i press start download it says ready... on the status bar. i left it for about 90 mins and nothing changed. i have done this 3 separate times with the same result each time. i will be thrilled with any information that might help me for i desperately crave 2.1!!!

Was updating my SGS when it got stuck on the screen where Android is digging in the dirt and says Downloading... do no turn off target.
Windows is also giving me an error "The Program can't start because RAPI.dll is missing from your compter. Try Reinstalling the program to fix this problem"
I tried reinstalling Kies but nothing happens.... Why oh why couldn't Samsung have just let us update OTA.....

I have only had my phone for a few days and i'm starting to have some problems with downloading apps. At first I had no problems I downloaded 8 or 9 of them and they installed fine. Then I was not able to download anymore. Each one I tried to download said "download failed and did not install. When I looked at my status bar it showed 10 or 12 apps that did not download. So I did a factory reset and cleared everything out and started again. The same thing happens I get 5 or 6 and then the rest give my error saying not downloaded and not installed. So again I did a factory reset and tried again and came across the same prob. I got a few and then no more. I do not have a data plan yet. So I'm just using the wifi in my house. The ones that did not download i left them over night thinking they might get done by morning but no luck.

i took the captivate on the road and used it as navigation. it worked great for the first 3 hours of the trip, reception or not. i was amazed until i received a notice that my phone internal app memory is low and i need to uninstall my apps. theres no way my memory should be full because i've checked it every few days and i've had 1.6 gb free. all of a sudden i've got 126mb. i'm guessing that Google maps had downloaded the maps in advanced and had just filled up the internal memory. unfortunately i have no clue how to clear the maps. until i can figure this out i cant receive emails, or texts or any messages because the memory is full. does someone know how to clear the old maps from the navigation app? i'm on the road so i havent been able to look at it extensively. i will research it more when i get a chance and post anything i find.

Recently rooted, bloatware gone. 1 click lagfixed and loving it. I tried to receive a pic from a buddy today in a text msg and it showed he sent it. It was 32k, said downloading. Never got the pic. What's up with that?

My captivate seems to keep freezing when doing things, most notably when I goto my downloads on the market, using Zedge to download a new wallpaper or using juiceplotter and just opening it, I get a black screen and it sits for a period of time approx a min or two...anyone else having these types of issues. I did do a factor reset this morning and also installed adw.launcher, but it still does it when using those programs and some others just can't remember which ones right off hand. thanks!!

So I just rooted. I am looking for the sweet apps that everyone talks about busybox, SetCPU, Root Explorer, Titanium Backup, WiFi and Wired Tether, etc. Do I have to sideload these, can I find them in the market? Do I need to download something special from the market?

I have been having 3G issues on my captivate for a while. I can browse the web just fine and email, text, mms all fine. But downloading apps or things that need continuous internet download (i.e. speed test) will start then stop very slowly. The 3G window in the status bar will then flash occasionally but primarily stay unlit. I've hoped that it would continue to download, but after leaving my phone with the screen off for over an hour with an app downloading (only 2mb) gone from 20kb downloaded to 50kb and my battery went from 80 to 30. This happens for every app I attempt to download over 3G (wifi is perfectly fine) no matter what the size. Any idea why it seems to put the download into the background. I'm currently running cognition mod v2.3b2. This has happened on all versions of cognition I've had. I'm pretty sure it happened while I had stock 2.1 also.

so on top of getting a free version of Quickoffice, we also now have Desk Home and Car Home for the captivate.The Desk home is much like the screen you see when the original Galaxy S was put in the Home station and car home looks very handy to see and works, of course, in both landscape and portrait mode.

Everyone knows that At&t is probably the worst major carrier in the US to be on if you want an Android device. So there has to be a reason you are praying Samsung announces the issues with the Captivate are fixable, or you would have jumped ship by now to have dozens of choices at the other carriers. For me, my wife just got her first ever iPhone and she refuses to try anything else. She's a big fan of the "Sims" type of games and Android doesn't have many of those games in the Market yet. It doesn't make sense money wise to have us on different carriers. So I'm stuck with At&t and a Captivate that I wish could perfrom to it's potential. Anybody else in a similar situation? Maybe it's spouses, kids, or even work related?

My battery is not very good and have to use task advance to turn them off all the time. I notice everytime I turn on the phone a bunch of app also start such as messenger, paypal, voice, fring etc.. so the first thing I do after turn the phone on was using task advance to kill all those apps. Is there a way to prevent them from auto start?

I was rebooting my phone today and it every time I try it gets stuck on The Galaxy S logo with the big flashing "S" on the screen. It acts like it is going to boot up but just after the ATT screen and the boot sound it gets stuck. I did the one-click-lag-fix about 2 weeks ago and the phone has been running smooth ever since. My wife and daughter are on the road so not having a phone really stinks right now.

I'm doing my usual pushing buttons. I dl'd the manual but can't figure this out. I have on the main screen an option of 5 different things: wifi (on/off), bluetooth (on/off), something, something, screen brightness. I think I toggled it on but don't know how to turn it off now.

Is this possible? Many times my phone is in a holding frame of some kind (cars) and the button on the side isnt easily accessed. Is there an app or a way that a simple tap on the screen can activate the phone instead of requiring pushing the button on the side?

I installed wireless tether to test it out. Worked great. Now I am stuck on the aforementioned obtaining address. I've powered cycled plenty, removed battery, uninstalled wifi tether. Really don't want to a factory reset.
