When I get picture texts, it comes up with a play button in the message thread. Clicking it will 'play' the image for 10 seconds, and I found out I can tap the screen and hit pause to look at the pic longer... but I can't figure out how to save the image. I've tried:
holding finger on the play button in-thread
holding finger on the image
hitting the menu button on either page
with no success.

I can receive texts just fine but I can't send for some reason.Any ideas why this would have stopped working?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using the handcent and is there any way to lock texts from being read by certain contacts..besides using blacklist? blacklist doesn't let you know when you get a text from the person. is there any way to just lock the text from being read in case someone has your phone with a pattern or something WITH it letting you know you got a text from them?also is there any way to create a folder and lock pictures in there with a lock pattern or code/password?any when making a lock pattern, is there any way to remove the emergency call button? or has anyone found any app that has the same feature without the emergency button?
View 5 Replies View Relatedi am trying to update my moment to 2.1 and i make it all the way through the update process until i press start download. after i press start download it says ready... on the status bar. i left it for about 90 mins and nothing changed. i have done this 3 separate times with the same result each time. i will be thrilled with any information that might help me for i desperately crave 2.1!!!

View 31 Replies View RelatedMy contacts are all setup as area code+xxxxxxx. I'm using the stock messaging app on my Moment. I get a text from someone in my contacts and reply to it. The text bounces back as not being in the ten digit format.
Is this because of the way the sender has their number configured or have I failed to setup texting correctly?
I called Sprint and they suggested a hard reset but I think the rep was clueless.
Trying to download and save files off the net, whether from ftp sites or sites, getting an insufficient space error. I have 533MB free on my SD card and 308MB free on the internal storage.
View 1 Replies View Relatedperhaps a bit of a newbie question - but having some issues with inline pictures with the email application. I am on Gmail....and using the email application. When I go on the phone using the browser to gmail I can see the pictures, when using the email app I cannot. Two questions.
1. Is there a difference between the email app that comes with the phone and the Gmail app. I have a Gmail email address and no other email accounts.
2. Are there other apps that are better about inline images?
I've been searching on this forum for hours now and can't seem to find any information on a work-around for cropping images for the wallpaper on my Samsung Moment. I've tried "Wallpaper Set & Save" and it just crops it automatically. I just installed the ADW Home Launcher and I can get up to 7 screens on it... but for some reason, my phone still wants to perform as if it's running on 3 screens. So it just automatically crops it.

I'm also trying to add my own custom images that I've put on the card and every time I set them as my wallpaper they seem soooo zoomed in? I've tried resizing them from 1600 to like 480xwhatever and I still get the same results.

I am working on an application that downloads images from a url. The problem is that only some images are being correctly downloaded and others are not. First off, here is the problem code:

So what I have is a method that takes the url as a string argument and then downloads the image, converts the HttpResponse stream to a bitmap by means of the BitmapFactory.decodeStream method, and returns it. The problem is that when I am on a slow network connection (almost always 3G rather than Wi-Fi) some images are converted to null--not all of them, only some of them. Using a Wi-Fi connection works perfectly; all the images are downloaded and converted properly. Does anyone know why this is happening? Or better, how can I fix this? How would I even go about testing to determine the problem?
I want to add images to gallery view after downloading them (like in android market application). All examples of gallery uses images stored in drawable folder. So how can I add images to gallery when image gets downloaded??

Every time I go to download my photos from my phone (both SD card and internal), I end up downloading thumbnails and images from websites I've visited as well as people's avatars from foursquare. I end up having to delete hundreds of images every time I want to download my pix.
Any idea how to disable the downloading of the web stuff? (Can the phone differentiate web image from photos I've taken from the camera?) I've tried from both the phone side and the computer side and I can't figure it out. Also, is there any way to get my phone to stop storing these web images? I don't think I need them, do I? (I'm a newbie smartphone owner if you couldn't tell!)
Since 2.2 I have been unable to download anything and only get an error message after it takes you to the download screen. This is happening on the stock browser as well as skyfire. Am I missing something? This worked fine in 2.1.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got some photos stuck in an MMS that I tried to download before I realised that I didnt have the correct MMS APN settings in (due to swapping to the Modaco ROM). The correct settings are now in but the MMS is stuck at "downloading" status. Is there any way I can rescue it, there is no forward option and I've successfully sent and recieved MMS since.

I would love to try out the Samsung Moment, but don't have the $$ to just go out and buy one.My hero comes with all it had when new, plus I have an extra battery for it I will add to the deal. This hero has only been used for about a week, and while using it, it "lived" in my Blackberry Tour holster to give it maximum protection. Don't get me wrong, webOS is clean and has a lot of potential, but for now...lacking would be a good (albeit understated) word to describe it. I want to jump the Pre ship for the Samsung Moment, but one thing I keep reading about the Moment is bothering me - everyone says it doesn't have multi-touch. However, I recently read that multi-touch is something Android doesn't yet support. This knowledge was previously unbeknownst to me since I haven't used an Android device since the G1 first launched. Since the Moment uses a standard Android build, the OS wouldn't allow multi-touch even if the phone were capable of it. So my question is: Does anyone know whether or not the Moment is capable of multi-touch? If it's simple a shortcoming of Android, I can deal with it since I know Android 2.0 should finally support it.

The call comes in, I hear the ringtone but no matter what buttons I press, the phone won't respond. I have to wait until voicemail kicks in or the call has ended.
I called Sprint technical support and they're going to send a new (I hope it's new) phone. I hate to set up the phone for the third time. Is there a fix or should I just bite the bullet and get the new? phone? Has anyone had this problem?
What experiences have you had with replacement phones from Sprint?
Should I be worried about getting a lemon phone?
Does setcpu speed up the Moment at all or is its only real use for downclocking to save battery?

I currently have a voice plan, with sprint, for my dying LG Musik and my father's Palm Centro and am seeking to replace my Musik with a Samsung Moment. I have an upgrade available on my account, however I don't want to get locked into a data plan, since I rarely spend any time away from Wifi.
Does anyone know if there is a way for me to use my upgrade to aquire the Moment without commiting to the data plan?
set up the wifes new moment her gmail still says 109 unread I went intp gmail on the pc and marked all as read then refreshed on the phone, no luck, tried going to manage apps and clearing all gmail and refreshing, still no luck short of one by one deleting all 109 any way to fix the count?

A lot of the apps are on the I phone and I touch which is pretty cool. But can anyone tell me if it is possible to maybe change the phone kinda like jail breaking? Is there anyway of making the Moment a wireless tether for internee?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMost every other "issue" to this phone has been a non-issue for me to this point.However, the one feature Samsung really screwed us on is the voice capabilities of the phone.I think they are tied to the Nuance system and therefore unusable by other apps like google voice search and where.I hope samsung or sprint writes a live search app for this phone.I bought the phone with the expectations of this phone being capable of voice commands without being limited by nuance.

The biggest concern I have is how fast will the Moment be rooted. Its sounding like they are close with the Hero, and once that is done will that make it easier for someone to figure out how to root the moment? Or is it like starting from scratch from phone to phone? Im also a bit concerned that no one at XDA will be helping with the process since the moment is not an HTC phone. I had a Treo800 when it first cameout, and it seemed like it took FOREVER for roms to make it way to that device. Any thoughts?
