For some reason, I'm no longer getting the little envelope icon at the top left of my phone when I have new e-mail. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I have checked and the "email notification" is still on, so its not that.

when i send a message i sometimes have a small envelope on the left appear with a green 'i' in front of it. what is this for as the manual as usual doesn't seem to explain?

View 16 Replies View RelatedI couldn't find anything specific through a search, but whenever I get an email on gmail I get a white envelope notification. That is linked to the gmail folder. At the same time I get a black envelope with a white outline. I cannot figure out what email folder/widget/whatever it is linked to and I have to manually clear the notification.
Is there anyway to turn off the black envelope?
how to make the upper left usb icon to appear on my phone when connecting usb cable to my computer it wont appear but it charges the phone battery need support i think my phone dont have a usb driver how am i going to install?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the samsung captivate. When I first got the K9 mail it worked fine. But it seems that after an update a few weeks ago my new mail icon seems to be stuck. I do get my notification and when I check the mail, it does show new mail the first time. But after I check it and clear it from my mail, it still shows that I have 2 new message or so. The number keeps growing. Any way to clear this?

Its relentless and can only be cleared by dropping down the notification window and clicking on 'clear'. It looks like a small envelope but not very good graphically. I originally thought it was default app notification but its not. I'm rooted and have a custom rom installed. Someone please tell me how to stop it, I can't take it anymore.

Its a picture of a simcard with a small cog wheel in the bottom left of it.
I cant get rid of it and cant find anywhere a list of notification icons and what they mean?
I cant clear it, i can select the icon in the dropdown notification listing but it does nothing.
Anyone got an idea or a list of default notification icons and their explanations????

Question about Stock Mail (not gmail) app. First - I am rooted running Fresh 1.1 Rom. I have noticed that my mail client does not send/receive mail on it's set schedule. Sometimes it will check if the phone is awake, but otherwise it could sit in my pocket sleeping for three hours and never once send/receive.

I have tried removing my account/adding it again, it still only fetches the mails that where fetched before the 15th oktober.
I have the same mailsetup on my own computer, fetches new mails just fine, no problems.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed/paid for the PDANet on my Droid- and it works great! awesome! then after a bit of run time my phone 'locks' up... and i dont mean lock up like i have to hard restart it or it force closes... what it does is that the send/receive icon at the top it still shows I'm connected to the 3G, but the arrows are locked on send... and after about 15-30 seconds the send arrow clicks off and i can continue doing what i was previously doing...
any ideas on why this is happening?
my droid and pdanet are up to date, and my comp is running xp...
and i did try to contact the pdanet tech people... but after 2 days of waiting I'm getting kind of antzy on a fix.

Iphones and blackberrys all give you a notification when you receive a new email or a new facebook message. The galaxy s does nothing when you receive a new mail. In settings you can select a ringtone, set it to vibrate when you receive a message. But nothing happens. The only way to find out if there any new messages is by clicking on the email app ( in which i am using hotmail).

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive a voice mail, it shows up in the visual voice mail application like it always does. Everything is normal EXCEPT ... When I play the voice mail I hear nothing. The time bar moves as it is playing, but nothing can be heard. This has been happening for the past 3 days. I then have to access my VMs through the traditional "Dial #1" portal. I love visual VM though, and would like to fix this. Does anyone know what the problem might be and/or have had this problem before?
Note: I am not using a task killer, and I don't even have one downloaded on my UNROOTED Hero.
