May 25, 2010

i think my gt-i7500 is bricked. i downloaded the 1.6 firmware(.tar) along with ODIN.. set up the downloading mode and used ODIN to flash it to 1.6. ODIN showed PASS in the window but the phone refuses to boot up. It remains frozen with the SAMSUNG sign. Recovery mode is not working either.

Samsung Galaxy I7500 : Can Flash Galaxo 1.6.2 Or GAOSP Without ODIN Flashing Or Updating My Firmware To 1.6

Apr 23, 2010

Alright this may have been asked a few times, or maybe it could not of been asked. I just can't find the thread related to answering this question.
Okay so my question is, can I flash Galaxo 1.6.2 or GAOSP "without" ODIN flashing or updating my firmware to 1.6? and not then what consequences would occur if I don't flash firmware update before GALAXO 1.6.2 flash. My phone firmware version is I7500ZHJA1 and I believe that is the latest firmware for my region which is still Android 1.5.

Samsung I7500 :: Odin Not Working

Oct 18, 2009

So i downloaded Odin and "I7500XXII5-PDA-CL64494-REV5(VIA).tar" with the intention of overwting my providers startup ads and bloatware and saw in the instructions that I should delete the cache.img file in I7500XXII5-PDA-CL64494-REV5(VIA).tar. However when i did that and try to flash, odin reports: "Check image files!!"

Samsung I7500 :: Can't Flash With Odin

Mar 12, 2010

I'm having a problem with my phone, I've had 2 lines show up at the top of my screen in the past couple of days. They're both multi-coloured and definitely look glitchy. They show up even in boot screens, fastboot, recovery, etc. I thought it might have been a problem with Galax0 that I was running, so I tried to re-flash it with Odin, and Odin seems to finish, but the phone does not actually get flashed. It stays at my previous firmware, with all apps installed, but when it reboots with Odin, the screen doesn't work (except in between the two lines at the top, so I can just see the bar at the top). I pull the battery and reboot, and it works, but is very glitchy.

Samsung I7500 : Logging Into Hotmail Stuck At Sign In - No Picture

Aug 5, 2010

So I have a Samsung Galaxy, and everytime I use the regular browser to sign into hotmail it stays stuck at "https://login.live.com Sign In". It's a blank page when it finishes loading. It's been like this for about a week. So i tried the Opera Mini browser for the android, and I can't log in because it makes me retype in my username after I enter the password, so I cannot log in at all in the first place. There is no app for checking my hotmail except for Hot Email, which doesnt work. If I use the Mail app, it downloads my emails (I think) and I just want to check it right off the browser as usual, anyone having the same problems?.

Samsung I7500 :: How To Proceed Odin That Doesn't Involve Fresh Windows Install?

Sep 25, 2009

I'm trying to flash my new Galaxy using Odin (because I got it sim-free and I don't have the market). I'm doing this on WinXP inside VMWare on Linux, unfortunately. It had only this to say: <1> Added! <1> Detected!
That is, after I filled in the filename and pressed start, the two boxes went yellow and the timer began counting but there was no other output. I killed it after about 45 mins. I've tried this with the II5 (one file) and IH7 (multiple files) firmware versions linked to from this site. Now, I guess the obvious culprit here is VMWare, but it seems odd that it would find the device and then give up (and NPS and mass storage work as well as expected). Also, even if I don't connect the Galaxy to the PC, the only way I can find to leave the 'downloading...' screen is to pull out the battery - is that normal? I did try with native WinXP on an old laptop too, but it's a 7-year-old installation and it wasn't playing ball... so I'm hoping someone here has a suggestion for how to proceed that doesn't involve a fresh Windows install?

General :: How To Flash Samsung Galaxy S2 Via Odin

Apr 18, 2012

I have a question about the files being used to flash my Samsung Galaxy S2 via Odin.

I have already seen this link [URL]...

I am trying to flash the PDA, Phone and CSC back all to normal stock. I have downloaded a firmware and I only have one file with a .dll file. The one file I have is named "I9100BOKK1_I9100TMUKK1_I9100BOKJ1_HOME.tar.md 5" I have extracted the files from here also and it contains boot.bin, cache.img, factoryfs.img, hidden.img, modem.bin, param.lfs, Sbl.bin and zImage.

How with these files and Odin do I flash all three parts. I can't see how to use these files on the above link with instructions for flashing and rooting.

General :: Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Odin Error

Mar 5, 2014

I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, 7" (WIFI-ONLY).

Firstly, let's start by saying that I ended up rooting it after a while because it got boring having the simple, unmodified android.

It seems creativity got the best of me, and I ended up wanting to switch back to my normal android days. The problems started when I looked for the ways to upgrade my device, and it sais my device had been modified (rooted). So then I tried deleting SuperSU, thinking that would unroot, but nope... I then went to my great friend, we all know as Google. I then found the firmware, however didn't notice it said 3G, not just WIFI.... and loaded it onto my tablet following the instructions leading me to use Odin. I now have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 WIFI only, with 3G Firmware.

After countless hours, days, and now weeks of trying to get it back to the normal firmware, all my attempts result in an error on Odin, and here's what I get:

First, I just load the .md5 file, and this happens.
---
<ID:0/006> Added!!
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> T210XXAMK5_T210OLBAMK1_T210XXAMK5_HOME.tar.md5 is valid.

[Code] ....

Now, what do I do to get my precious tablet back to normal? , since I have the 3G version, I'm required to have a sim card which I can't put in because there's no sim card slot (it's a WIFI tab). I can't even use WiFi, because it won't turn on without a SimCard.

General :: ODIN Won't Flash Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i

Jul 11, 2012

I bought my Galaxy Ace S5830i last month. I hadn't installed Samsung Kies until yesterday, when I launched it it prompted a firmware upgrade. First I tried to use kies to upgrade but whenever the upgrade process started (Kies started downloading the firmware files) my device automatically got disconnected..I tried reinstalling kies, restarting my phone but nothing worked.

I then decided to use odin(v1.87) to flash the firmware on my device but it kept failing at first step itself. Here's what it said :-

<ID:0/010> Added!!
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> S5830iXXLF3_S5830iODDLF1_RST_S5830iDDLF1_HOME.tar. md5 is valid.
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..

[Code] .....

The phone has been working as fine as ever. Kies never got to the step of INSTALLING the new firmware as whenever it started downloading the firmware files my phone got disconnected so no damage there.

With ODIN I entered download mode but here too it fails at the beginning, so I just switch off my phone and restart it and it works as if nothing ever happened (I've made several attempts)

Android :: Samsung Galaxy Spica Or Samsung Galaxy I7500

Jul 12, 2010

I was originally going to get either the HTC Hero or Motorola Droid but found out they are both CMDA. and the Milestone is out of my budget. People have been suggesting to get the Samsung Galaxy S, that's also out of my budget and looks too much like an iPhone. So i stumbled upon these two phones.I'm leaning more towards the Spica because it has superior battery life, and 800mhz compared to the 528mhz the i7500 has. and it can also play DivX.What's making it a difficult decision is the i7500 has an AMOLED Screen. It can display 16,777,216 Colors while the Spica can only display 65,536 Colors I'm not too sure if that will make a difference. Also it has 5mp w/LED Flash while Spica is only 3.2.One phone has a little of both. This will be my first Android phone I'm coming from a Sony Ericsson W995.

Samsung Galaxy S :: Unable To Sign Into Google Account

Nov 4, 2010

I bought a Samsung Galaxy S a few days back and was able to sign into the Android market via my gmail account. I even managed to download the BarCode scanner application. That's where the problems begun. Since auto-sync was on, all my gmail contacts were synced with my phone contacts. Now since I did not want to see my gmail contacts every time I try and make a call, I performed a factory reset on the phone (since there was no other way to get rid of all the gmail contacts at once). I then turned sync off and tried to sign in to my Google account, but it refused to do so. I get a message saying: "Unable to establish a reliable connection with server. This may be a temporary problem or your phone may not be provisioned for data services. Please contact customer care if the problem persists." I even tried connecting with sync on just for the heck of it but it still did not work. The Samsung Customer Care service in India is truly pathetic. They said that: "We do not provide support for such technical problem" Wtf? They then proceeded to give a regional center number, which when I called.
