I'm using the Cognition build of the 2.2 Leak (beta v5.5) on my Captivate at the moment. Haven't had any problems thus far, and am loving it. But I noticed something odd today. I had to install the .apk of the android keyboard that's floating around the forums. And I noticed that haptic feedback on keypress doesn't work. Anybody else have this problem? Know a solution?

One thing that I really like about the phone is the ability to play music from my phone to my car stereo via Bluetooth because it has the A2DP. No wires and I can control the music ON the deck itself instead of the phone. I've updated the phone with the leaked froyo about 2 days after it was leaked. I noticed that I couldn't play music from my phone to my car stereo anymore via bluetooth. I am able to take calls fine via bluetooth while I am driving, it just won't play any music.

The only bug I notice is when I disable BT it mentions something about a SIM card.
Just posted on XDA by designgears : I897ucjh7 - not froyo, - xda-developers. Looks like it's the final test firmware before the official release. Word from those that have flashed is that they are getting a GPS lock, Indoors. Also, it Looks like updates to the phone will be done with Kies, not OTA. Also has been said that it's pretty quick and the lag issue has been addressed.

I can turn on "also vibrate" and it works, but when I am in normal mode it rings AND vibrates. Any way to make it work they way I want it?

The SYM button and the one to the left of it are blanked out - meaning they are just black boxes and clicking/pressing them does nothing. 1) My ringer, when someone calls me, starts off quiet for a few seconds then goes to full volume. The ringtone I have doesn't do that by itself, it must be a setting. Is there a way to make it ring full volume as soon as someone calls me?
2) Is there a way to make the phone vibrate when receiving a text message either while the phone is on vibrate or on normal volume.
Is there any difference because i noticed that there are a couple bugs(swype is a little erradic, missing apps). So is there a difference and also will i be able to update to the official froyo if already on the leaked version?

I am currently using the Android Keyboard but I want to use the Samsung Keyboard because it fixes common typed errors (although the Android Keyboard Settings says it does too, but it doesn't) However, when I switch to Samsung Keyboard, every letter I press it makes an awful clicking popping noise. I know there is no setting under Samsung Keyboard Settings for Sound on Keypress but there is one under Android Keyboard. I have turned it off but the Samsung Keyboard keeps making the clicking/popping noise.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhy in the world would they release the Samsung keyboard without the ability to distinguish between search textboxes and URL textboxes. I recently switched from my favorite keyboard, Swype, to the Samsung keyboard which I noticed did quite well with fixing any typing errors I made because of non-tactile buttons. Any way, every time I go to type in something to search for...I get the keyboard with the "www." and ".com" instead of the space bar. Do I have to switch to the Android keyboard or is there a way to get past this problem?

I found out how to add stuff to the stock android dictionary, but I added stuff I meant as just a test and now I don't know how to delete them.I posted this on xda but haven't gotten an answer yet. View 1 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else finding that their keyboard lags when typing moderately quickly? I am using the Android keyboard and for the life of me I can not type "might" without it hiccuping and only getting "miht", "miht", "miht".
I've turned off the suggestion bar, auto-completion, and system sound...but still the keyboard is awful. It has been the same way with both of the Captivates that I've had.
What is this short vibrate while punching the number using keypad. Tried unchecking haptic feedback as well as unchecking touch input. But it still has not resolved the issue.
