Does anyone know if it's possible to disable the vibration feedback from the Samsung keyboard? Disabling haptic feedback works, but that effects the entire phone (i.e. long presses and home keys).

Can u set two different vibrations for haptic feedback and ringer vibration or are they tied to each other? I cant figure out how to set haptic to low and ringer vibration to high.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNoticed since I work in a rather quiet environment. During office hours I need to keep it on vibrate mode. When the phone vibrates during a call, it causes a severe rattling noise when the phone is in my hands or if the bottom is not resting against a hard object. Removing the battery compartment cover and repeat, and the rattle is non existent. With the battery cover on, the rattle can be diminished by pressing firmly on the top section of the cover.

Haptic feedback is checked yet there is none. I have rebooted and pulled the battery to no avail. My phone is useless in vibration mode since it no longer vibrates.
Anyone have a clue why this would have happened? One minute it was working the next it wasn't.
Such that it is only on for the navigation buttons (capacitive touch buttons at the bottom) and not anywhere else (i.e. not on the keyboard)? I prefer typing without haptic feedback but I don't want to turn it completely off because it becomes even harder to see if a bottom navigation button responded with it off.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've put together an update that will remove the haptic feedback on the Eris when you press the dialer keys (it does still make the sounds though). It works great for me but I was wondering if someone else could test and let me know how it works for them. All the credit for the method goes to JsChiSurf at xda-developers who figured out how to do this for the Hero. I just decompiled the HtcDialer apk from the latest Eris 2.1 leak (Leak 4?) and applied JsChiSurf's method to it (adding a return-void to the vibration function). Just load the zip from your recovery image. This does not delete any of your data. However, please, please do a nandroid backup before you use this. This is my first attempt at creating this sort of thing. Comments and criticism welcome.

Just got my captivate and have one problem. Sometimes when touching the haptic menu button (first from left), i get a double vibration. Like it senses my first touch but vibrates second time right away. I do not get this constantly. But it happens all the time when i first touch the home button then the menu button. Does not happen with any other button.

Whenever I press the "t" on my virtual keyboard, I am constantly getting the "r" or "y". Rarely am I getting the "t". It seems like sometimes I press the "t" and I don't get any haptic feedback. If I continuously press any other letter, I get that letter. But with the "t", it is mostly "r" and "y".
I went to the Verizon store and they noticed the problem, but said only that I should do a factory reset which I did after organizing apps I have downloaded, with no resolution. And the first thing out of their mouth was if you get a replacement, it won't be a new one. Being with Verizon for over 8 years, I understand that since I've had bad Blackberries in the past, but I have also found that the so called refurbished ones have worked flawlessly. I went ahead and had them send one out to me.

One thing I can't figure out is how to disable the default email viewer? I am getting 2 notifications every time a email comes in. I get one in my gmail launcher and another in the notification bar. So far I've only done mild browsing/email and navigation off wireless, yet I've already used 67 Mb in 4-5 days. Anybody else having similar experiences?
I've tried the APNDroid widget set to "Red", but when I disable Wifi, the 3G icon pops right up in the notification bar and 3G seems to work normally. I've also tried the JuiceDefender "Toggle Mobile Data" and tapped it to make it yellow "ON", and again the 3G pops up when I disable WiFi. Anybody having any luck disabling 3G? Also, it would be nice to still get push gmail, which seems like it wouldn't using much data.
I've noticed when the phone goes into standby mode (press the right power button), the 3G eventually turns off. Is there a way to prevent that from happening? I'm assuming I can't get any notifications (i.e. Instant Messenger clients, Google Voice, etc.) while the 3G is off, but not sure. I'm also assuming 3G goes into sleep mode, as when I power the phone up I don't see the 3G icon (is that assumption correct?).
