Just posted on XDA by designgears : I897ucjh7 - not froyo, - xda-developers. Looks like it's the final test firmware before the official release. Word from those that have flashed is that they are getting a GPS lock, Indoors. Also, it Looks like updates to the phone will be done with Kies, not OTA. Also has been said that it's pretty quick and the lag issue has been addressed.

One thing that I really like about the phone is the ability to play music from my phone to my car stereo via Bluetooth because it has the A2DP. No wires and I can control the music ON the deck itself instead of the phone. I've updated the phone with the leaked froyo about 2 days after it was leaked. I noticed that I couldn't play music from my phone to my car stereo anymore via bluetooth. I am able to take calls fine via bluetooth while I am driving, it just won't play any music.

View 14 Replies View RelatedSo I just got done installing the leaked OTA and rooting my phone, but now I've read conflicting reports that when Froyo comes out in a couple weeks, I won't be able to install it without going back to stock 2.1. Even worse, going back to stock means erasing all the data and apps on my phone. I was under the impression that one could use Titanium backup to make sure all apps, data, and settings can be re-imaged to the phone, but then I realized that Titanium only works if you have root, which I won't if I go back to stock. But when the official update comes out, how do I install it without losing all my data? Why can't I just install it on top of the rooted OTA update OS?
View 20 Replies View RelatedHaven't heard much lately regarding this topic, I hope people don't let Samsung off the hook. We need to keep the pressure applied until something is delivered. What bothers me the most is, if the Epic has the GPS fix, why not the rest of us? Goes to prove that the GPS issue might still be being worked on and Samsung/Sprint are just trying to calm fears.

Downloaded the update yesterday, GPS is no better (another thread-s), but I can't access the LBS test mode via *#*#1472365#*#*.
Does anyone have another method, or some sort of workaround?
This is my first post and I am new to Android so excuse my ignorance if this is well documented and common knowledge. I have a stock ADP, firmware 1.0, no updates no mods and of course I want to get the latest features such as voice control, latitude etc, and so begins the fun. Why is there nothing official that can be easily found which states what is going on for people that own the ADP? I must have read dozens of articles showing update procedures and claiming to have leaked OFFICIAL developer updates and only recently did i find 2 thread that eventually end with something stating there is NO official update for developer phones yet.
I have 2 gripes about this:
1. Why no official and clear statement from the development team to clarify this before people start scrambling desperately to install leaked versions that are false? (I know I almost did) 2. Why as a developer do I have to wait for features that are already available to end users?
Picked up a Milestone today, firmware is 2.1 update 1, build number shols_u2_02.31.0. I just wanna check I've got an official firmware version on board and not a rooted version, so I can get the official updates when released. Anyone know how to check the details?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOK, after being on the phone with AT&T for 2 hours and being conferenced call with Samsung this is the result:
Samsung claims that *3282# is the Samsung code to lower the notification volume.
Samsung claims that they are now aware that *3282# is the AT&T code to check our data usage.
Because of this conflict, they claim they will send an OTA fix; but will not state when that will be.
AT&T has been receiving many complaints regarding this problem. Samsung claims they have never heard of this before. Apparently they forgot to log in my call last week?
Pls advise me the best unofficial firmware update to download. Froyo based.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Cognition build of the 2.2 Leak (beta v5.5) on my Captivate at the moment. Haven't had any problems thus far, and am loving it. But I noticed something odd today. I had to install the .apk of the android keyboard that's floating around the forums. And I noticed that haptic feedback on keypress doesn't work. Anybody else have this problem? Know a solution?

The only bug I notice is when I disable BT it mentions something about a SIM card.
I just wanted to know it there was any differences. Is it worth rolling back to 2.1 and downloading the official 2.2 that was released OTA?
View 9 Replies View RelatedOne thing some of you over-clockers may not be aware of is, the over-clocked kernel that you flashed to your DROID is based off of the 2.0 kernel. Some folks are reporting issues again that were present before the 2.0.1 update i.e. crackling audio, LED and keyboard back-lighting dysfunction, etc. Actually, I have yet to experience any of these issues.
This isn't bad news, mind you. Just a little something that we can look forward to as the new & improved kernels become available. I still have high hopes that the official 2.1 release is going to be a very optimized ROM/kernel for our beloved DROID. And when that kernel gets over-clocked.
UPDATE: I have since removed the CompCache from my DROID. I would get reboots when I tried calling anyone.
I wanted to compare the results of the two different methods of installing this update.I wiped everything by installing the leaked RUU 2 days ago and I must say my phone's performance has significantly improved. My quadrant score went from 525 (stock) to 1365 (after installing the leaked Froyo) neither score was rooted.Scrolling seems much faster and the optical pad is a lot smoother.I'm hearing some people who installed the OTA saying that their phone has been laggy and hangs when scrolling.I've been running the official Froyo for the past 2 days and haven't experienced this.Can we get some feedback from some people who have installed the RUU vs OTA.

View 9 Replies View RelatedNow that we are on 2.1, Juice Defender works on our phones. I have been running it for a couple days, and I think it is helping. Still need to do some better calculations. Once loaded, I did shut off Power Manager, as I think they conflict on some of the settings. Anyhow, has anyone else loaded it on the official 2.1 release? What's your experience?

I was told that the reason that I keep seeing the "No update file exists" message when I check "update firmware" is because I have the latest version.
At some point my phone was updated without giving me a message. I did notice the red and blue arrows yesterday. But there was no message. My SD card mounted and dismounted on its own and gave an error message, and then all references to the error and SD card disappeared.
If your phone is/has exhibited this sort of behavior, you may already have the update.
