I would like my phone to vibrate when I receive a text or email while it is in vibrate mode. It only does so when a call is being received. I can turn on "also vibrate" and it works, but when I am in normal mode it rings AND vibrates. Any way to make it work they way I want it?

i have my captivate, and i checked the box to vibrate when i receive a text message. however, it only lights up and no vibration occurs.

1) My ringer, when someone calls me, starts off quiet for a few seconds then goes to full volume. The ringtone I have doesn't do that by itself, it must be a setting. Is there a way to make it ring full volume as soon as someone calls me?
2) Is there a way to make the phone vibrate when receiving a text message either while the phone is on vibrate or on normal volume.
Not sure if this is an Android setting or a ChompSMS setting but does anyone know how to turn off the voice announcement when I receive a txt message?
It doesn't seem to be tied to the volume rocker as I still get announcements when set to completely mute.
when my phone is on vibrate, and i revieve a text, my phone lights up but it dosent vibrate and also, sometimes when i recieve a text it dosent go to the bottom of my text messaging list, it goes in the middle, so when i recieve a message, i have to look through all my messages to see which one i just recieved. i've noticed that the time stamp is incorrect on the messages sometimes, which my be the reason.

The software is all up to date, ive reset the alert tone in the notification settings, and im afraid thats all my knowledge used up. Ringtone sound is fine and it also vibrates for that.

At the phone start, deep sleep mode works fine, but as soon as i receive an email or SMS, the phone will never go back in powersaving mode. Just as if the service crashed and the phone still "Awake". I've tested several solutions and apps:
- Deep Sleep Battery Saver: Failed
- One power guard: Failed
- Powersaving tweaks from Pimpmyrom: Failed
Of course i've checked if a service or apps aren't involved in the problem, but there is nothing. I've checked with Betterbatterystats, wakelock detector...Deep Sleep mode just crash and never restart . And we are a several people in this case...

View 2 Replies View RelatedNoticed since I work in a rather quiet environment. During office hours I need to keep it on vibrate mode. When the phone vibrates during a call, it causes a severe rattling noise when the phone is in my hands or if the bottom is not resting against a hard object. Removing the battery compartment cover and repeat, and the rattle is non existent. With the battery cover on, the rattle can be diminished by pressing firmly on the top section of the cover.

But I noticed something odd today. I had to install the .apk of the android keyboard that's floating around the forums. And I noticed that haptic feedback on keypress doesn't work. 1) Vibrate on Notify: On
2) Vibrate on Ringer: On
3) Silent Mode: Vibrate
Is there any way to get an email or text notification once my phone is in sleep mode? If my phone is "awake" it rings but once asleep I don't get any notification. Also, if my phone ringer is set to vibrate is there any way to set my email/text notification to ring or does it have to be both vibrating or both ringing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a newbie to this forum, and hope someone can help. Have had the Captivate for almost a month now and am plagued by an annoying problem. I have set up email accounts connecting to a google-hosted email account via IMAP. I am finding that when replying to a received email, my reply goes out with redundant repetitions of the email address on the "to" line. Example: Email from soandso@gmail.com arrives. I click "reply" on the phone and the reply goes out to soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com etc etc *10 times*, instead of just once. It also copies me about 10 times! Is anybody else seeing this? I use this for work emails, so it looks very unprofessional like I am trying to spam my clients! I have another couple of days before my 30-day return period is up, so hopefully someone else know how to fix this. Is there some setting I am overlooking?

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got my refurbished Captivate in the mail today, charged and activated it as per the instructions. It worked just fine for about 30 minutes or so. I put on a few apps and showed them off to my roommate, and things were going fine. Then all of a sudden I couldn't send or receive phone calls, nor was I able to get/send text messages. With no pattern or logic I would go from 3g to edge to neither of the two symbols (just full signal strength) to the international no sign where my full bars just were. If I typed and tried to send a text while the no sign was visible it would send and receive texts as soon as I got signal back, but that would only last a few minutes.
I've tried hard and soft resets and restoring the phone to factory settings, all to no avail, as well as checking my message center number. I've looked around in the forums and can't seem to find anyone who has had this problem, and I was hoping someone would have some advice or could point me to a thread that I may have missed. I'd talk to AT&T but chat hours are over and I have to be up early for work tomorrow and need my phone for that, so I'm not sure I can ask customer service tomorrow beforehand.
So recently I havE had people tell me they tried calling me but the phone never rang or said I missed a call. I get the voice mail if they leave one but no signs of then calling besides that. I love my captivate but I have trouble sending and receiving pic messages too. I've never had any other problems either. Anyone know what may cause this? If its the phone will they replace it for free?
