I know it may be minor but I wish the my Captivate could edit how times the phone vibrates for calls, sms, calendar etc. I have my phone in my pocket ALL the time and always have it on vibrate cuz i need it that way. maybe someone will create something to edit the vibrate feature.

A few hours after I have installed the Behold 2 Stock ( No Twiz w/ Root & Busybox ) w/ Update, my wifi stops working. I'm not sure if there is any connections. My connection will turn blue, but it won't connect. I tried restarting the phone, restored the connections, and set up wifi again. I've turned wifi on and off multiple times.

View 3 Replies View Relatedmy wife evo rooted w/ s-off, its been rebooting alot today. she's on baked snacks 1.8. I just moved her files to the sdcard and uninstalled the hack adobe player for hulu and put the original on. I then rebooted the phone and now it shows the HTC EVO white screen, it then vibrates quickly 5 times, go to a black screen and w/ a green flash. I then went into recovery and clear the data, reboot but still 5 vibrate and nothing. I tried going into recovery again to do a nandroid, but it doesn't go into there either.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo its been about a month and a half that I've had my captivate. I've had a few problems with the phone and have searched them, I have found most have the same problems but no one gives any answers to what you can do to fix it.
Problems:
.phone restarts at random times until the battery is taken out and put back in
.text messages delete at random times
.phone does not sync with Facebook
.it does not retrieve e-mails
.gets a bit laggy at times for a 1gHz processor
.seems like the side buttons seems a smashed in and do not "click" properly
Does anyone have any answers to these problems?
Also I wanted to do a factory restore so how can I save my files/ contacts/ etc before I do this to see if it fixes any of the problems.
How to backup my phone would be great..
Whenever Titanium Backup runs one of the scheduled backups, the screen no longer times out. It will dim, but never go off. This isn't just while the operation is running, either. For instance, I had a scheduled operation this morning at 4 a.m. At 7 a.m., the operation was completed, but the screen was still on (albeit dimmed). The only way the screen time out starts working again is if I kill Titanium via System Panel. Is this normal?

It used to be that when I type out that character string I don't even have to press talk; it would automatically open the settings. Now the text string just disappears.
i have my captivate, and i checked the box to vibrate when i receive a text message. however, it only lights up and no vibration occurs.

But I noticed something odd today. I had to install the .apk of the android keyboard that's floating around the forums. And I noticed that haptic feedback on keypress doesn't work. Anybody else have this problem? Know a solution?
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe first couple of times I connected my new Captivate to my PC via USB, it worked fine. I was given the notification to mount and view my files, and I was able to access everything. This morning, I plugged my phone in, and told it to mount in the notifications, but it did not appear on my PC. When I unplugged it and tried it again, it was not recognized at all as a USB drive.
Notes:
-I am using the "internal SD card". I have no external microSD to use at the moment.
-The phone charges when plugged into the computer, but does not mount.
-I have tried reinstalling the USB drivers via links found on this forum.
I would like my phone to vibrate when I receive a text or email while it is in vibrate mode. It only does so when a call is being received. I can turn on "also vibrate" and it works, but when I am in normal mode it rings AND vibrates. Any way to make it work they way I want it?

Kies now just sits there saying Connecting to device, but will not connect.I have tried this several times and cannot get it to connect. Even tried restarting the phone and my computer.

1) My ringer, when someone calls me, starts off quiet for a few seconds then goes to full volume. The ringtone I have doesn't do that by itself, it must be a setting. Is there a way to make it ring full volume as soon as someone calls me?
2) Is there a way to make the phone vibrate when receiving a text message either while the phone is on vibrate or on normal volume.
When i get a text message it vibrate for literally under a second. is there a way to extend this so i cam actualpy notice it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure when this started happening or if it ever even worked, but my vibrate notifications do not work for text messages or email (i'm using K-9). I've gone through EVERY possible setting, in the messaging app, in K-9, and the standard phone settings, to ensure that Vibrate Notification is indeed on, and yet it does not work. It doesn't matter if my phone is on Vibrate Mode, Silent Mode, or Normal Mode, no vibration notifications.
I've tried restarting the phone, nothing works.
My Haptic Feedback works perfectly.
I need a feature similar to the one in Handcent. Where i could make the phone vibrate multiple times for a long time. I got rid of handcent and am really missing this. Is there another app with just this feature?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat I would like to do is to run 2 instances of an application or more. The issue is that I am using an RDP program that allows me to attach to a single connection, the kick is that I need the ability to toggle between those machines and the app does not do that natively. I can also see it being useful for a situation when you need to toggle between two documents that are both open with the same application.
I know that it is really not made to do this natively but if there is are ROMs that include that functionality or a way to alter android to do this. In addition, it would be great to be able to tell the system which applications can and can't function that way.
I currently have a nexus 7, transformer prime and transformer infinity to test this with.
Has anyone else that has the Incredible been getting the same MMS multiple times on various occasions? For me, its appears to be random...although, now that I think about it, the two numbers that I notice it from I think are both AT&T...at least one of them is. Does anyone have any input on this?
View 13 Replies View RelatedIIUC, there should only be one instance of a given service, it is a singleton. However, my (audio engine) service gets instantiated multiple times, although I do nothing for it. When the service crashes (for example when I uninstall the app through adb), it gets scheduled for restart ("Scheduling restart of crashed service.. "). I understand this is an effect of the service being sticky. After that, when my app starts, it calls startService() and bindService(), and the service gets appropriately started and bound. But the service is then reinstantiated and onCreate() is called repeatedly, as many times it was scheduled for restart.
Each instance then wait for clients to bind and register, but onBind() is only called in the "main" service instance. The additional instances wait a bit for client to bind, and since that doesn't happen, they call stopSelf(). But stopSelf() has absolutely no effect in these "dead" instances, onDestroy() is never called.
The "main" service instance does work as expected, and when it decides to call stopSelf(), onDestroy() is indeed called. Worse, all these dead instances accumulate, they never gets destroyed. Therefore, their only possible end is a crash (which happen every time I launch/install through adb), and thus scheduled restart.
So that in the end I get many of these dead instances, which are restarted progressively once by minute approximately.
I would like to run multiple instances of same application for dev purpose. How does app define it's name in the system, through which of the files is that configured.

In this application i am using LocationListener class to update the location when the Location is changed.In each Activity i have different LocationListener to update location and do some specific work on updated location. But my problem is that when i am changing my location through DDMS , the LocationListener is being called of that current Activity as well as all the activities of the whole application where LocationListener has been defined. I don't know whether there should be one LocationListener for the whole application or for each Activity we should have different LocationListener.

I need to be able to schedule multiple Notifications at different times in the future.
I tried doing this with an AlarmManager, but that isn't suitable, for the following reason. From AlarmManager.set(): "If there is already an alarm for this Intent scheduled (with the equality of two intents being defined by filterEquals(Intent)), then it will be removed and replaced by this one."
Guess what, the sending intents are equal, apart from different Extra's (but those don't count for filterEquals).
So how can I schedule multiple notifications, which will still be shown when my application is killed (the whole reason I tried AlarmManager)?
So the situation is this, I have a ListView that is embedded in two LinearLayout ViewGroups to form a screen. BaseAdapter.get View() (the implementation of the ListAdapter) is typically called n times (where n is numElements) to render the screen. The problem I have is this set of calls is being repeated for every ViewGroup that the list is contained in...So for a Layout like this:
-LinearLayout --Linearlayout ---ListView
The adapters get View() is being called n*3 times (3 = 1 for the parent LinerarLayout, one for the child LinearLayout and one for the List itself).
This is obviously a problem when the items in the List are expensive to build (even with recycling).
So I'm looking for some guidance on this, as the documentation doesn't seem to note this behavior from what I can see.

Is there a way to assign multiple ringtones to each number, not to each contact? I have several contacts that have multiple numbers and would like "home" "work" "mobile" etc to all be different ringtones but still remain within the same contact.
