Today, I was connected to my WiFi at home with my Nexus One. I had to reboot my router, and all of a sudden, the Nexus One doesn't connect to my WiFi. When I tell it to, it just says Connection unsuccessful, touch to try again. I tried reboot my phone and router again and also deleting the connection and connecting again, and nothing. It doesn't connect.

I cannot connect to my home WiFi, it even not trying to connect, other Wifi connections works fine, but my private home wifi connection not working, i have notebook that using this connection with no problem but N1 unable to connect.

I have not changed any of my router settings/phone settings, so this is strange. I have tried deleting link and re inputting key (this worked once, but now no longer works)
My router is on the recommended WPA-2 setting, and is regarded as a friendly router for the Hero (Netgear 834dg)
Is there a way to disable the start up sound on the Eris? Also, it recognizes my WiFi network. I type in the password, it obtains the address, and then it says unsuccessful.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere appears to be an issue with my Hero-router WiFi connection. Has anyone had similar experiences or have any advice? My Hero can generally see my home wireless router and report a good signal, though the visibility can drop out (when my other devices are still happily connected). It can also see my neighbors' networks, so it isn't a range issue.
For the most part, the Hero just doesn't seem to want to connect. If I reboot the router it will connect briefly for a couple of secs. I've tried altering a few of the router broadcast settings, trying b-only/ g-only/ b+g, but this hasn't helped (n isn't available, but I understand the Hero to be g anyway). I haven't yet been to another WiFi area, to check if it will connect to other networks. My suspicion is it is a specific compatibility issue with my router (Zoom).
I had been tearing my hair out because my new HTC Desire couldn't see my home WiFi and yet occasionally it would "see" a weak signal from a neighbor's house. My Access point was running WEP so I changed it to WPA-SPK - still no good. So I also set up a second standalone WAP running WEP. Still couldn't see either WAP.
Upgraded to latest ROM firmware. No difference. Long story short, it wasn't the type of security, it was because I was using Channel 13, It suddenly occurred to me that not all countries (I'm in Australia) have Channel 13 available so the phone might not have it either. Changed WAP from 13 to Channel 6 (although any other but 13 would no doubt work) and everything worked.
When I'm away from home without a WiFi connection it seems like nothing works. You Tube, Last FM, eBay and worst of all any of the three different types of Twitter I have. Some of these apps are incredibly slow or others just give up. I've never been able to upload a picture via Twitter using any platform. Really annoying. Seems my Gmail isn't even notifying my anymore.. Have I done something? Is this linked to Orange's notoriously poor set up?
Will rooting my phone help? I'm already running out of space on my phone after downloading what I consider a fairly small number of apps. Why don't they save to, and run off, the SD card?
I'm loving my Nexus 5, my first Android phone. I use Pattern Lock. I want to disable Pattern Lock when I'm at my home wifi. I did some research and it looks like apps can only turn off Pattern Lock when the phone is rooted. Is this true? I don't want to root my phone and I'd rather not have to enter Pattern Lock a hundred times a day.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI wiped my phone and flashed the latest cm nightly for my N1. I started reinstalling some apps that I had already paid for. Some worked, but other paid apps did not install. I received the 'installation unsuccessful' error message after the app was downloaded from the market. Swiftkey, ProcessManager Full, 360 Live, Rom manager premium, and iSyncr all failed to install properly. I have tried clearing the market cache and rebooting but the error persists. Not really sure what to do anymore. Has anyone gotten around this problem?

WiFi sees the network, says "Connecting", comes up "Failed to connect", "Scanning" and loops on that sequence. I know the router's working because this laptop is using it right now
My Hero takes a long time to connect to my home wifi. I usually go in to the settings and hit "Scan" repeatedly before it connects. Sometimes it fails connect, and I have to go into Settings to try again. Is there a way/app to scan automatically or re-attempt to connect again? Maybe there's something I'm not thinking of?

Any way to disable the fullscreen "USB Mass Storage" popup when connecting to USB on FROYO? Can't seem to locate any settings to turn this off and it's kinda overkill/unneeded everytime i plug in the phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I use the data connection, the phone crashes and it reboots.Sometimes it happens some minutes after browsing, other times it happens once the packets start flowing, and other times instantly just after a reboot, which forces another reboot again.Some applications started crashing too, mostly games.Since a couple of days ago I've been getting some restarts just browsing on the settings too.I did a factory reset which proved unsuccessful, and I've been wondering how to do a full wipe of the system to reinstall Android and hope that fixes it. However, I fear it could be a bad memory block or some hardware problem that's causing the crashes.AFAIK, there haven't been any incidents (drops, spills, etc), the problem just started happening and has increased in frequency.Also, could someone guide me to how do I reinstall Froyo?

All I'm getting so far is a "Connecting" status from the Nexus 7, followed after a few seconds by a "Disconnected" one.
As it is my first attempt at setting up a VPN (both on the server and client sides) I was wondering if there was a log file generated by Android on the Nexus that would give me a clue as to where I'm going wrong.

Droid Incredible running 2.2 OTA. When watching live streaming content using NFL Mobile app over my wifi connection(which is Cox Cable), the feed loses its connection after exactly five minutes of streaming. At the five minute mark, the feed will freeze and the V-Cast loading icon will appear spinning, then an error message will appear saying that NFL Mobile could not establish a connection. Back out at any point during this and hit the button to play live content, live content will work again flawlessly for exactly five minutes. Then the feed will freeze, etc...There are no problems with live streaming content when I am using 3G. I have tried using several different routers at different settings and the problem occurs the same with all of them, and I have no problems with streaming content over wifi other than NFL Mobile. This problem also never occurred with the versions of NFL Mobile prior to the current 2.0 version. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? The app streams much better over wifi, but that's not worth having to restart it every five minutes. A big reason of mine for being with Verizon is the NFL Mobile app so if anyone knows anything please let me know.
