I cannot connect to my home WiFi, it even not trying to connect, other Wifi connections works fine, but my private home wifi connection not working, i have notebook that using this connection with no problem but N1 unable to connect.

iv just got a replacement hero and i cant get it to connet to my bt home hub, my last one did no problems but when i try with my new one it just comes back as unsuccessful, it does seem to connect to bt openzone tho if that helps.

When I tell it to, it just says Connection unsuccessful, touch to try again. I tried reboot my phone and router again and also deleting the connection and connecting again, and nothing. It doesn't connect.

The phone didn't have any problems with this before the update.
Anyone had the same kind of problem, or anyone that has a smart fix for it?
My Hero takes a long time to connect to my home wifi. I usually go in to the settings and hit "Scan" repeatedly before it connects. Sometimes it fails connect, and I have to go into Settings to try again. Is there a way/app to scan automatically or re-attempt to connect again? Maybe there's something I'm not thinking of?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a factory unlocked HTC Desire with the official 2.2 froyo firmware installed. When I turn on the wifi using the inbuilt HTC wifi widget, it takes about 10-15 seconds before the phone connects to my wifi router and the wifi icon is shown in the notification bar. I am using a Dlink dir-655 router. The settings that I have on the router are as follows:-
wireless mode: 802.11g only
encryption: wpa2 personal AES
mac filtering on (phone's mac address has been added to the list)
SSID is hidden
Other devices such as my laptop and nintendo wii connect to the wifi router within seconds.
I have an application in which I need to connect to an access point with a specific name. Therefor I start a scan (WifiManager.startScan()) and listen to BroadCastEvents of type SCAN_RESULTS_AVAILABLE_ACTION and NETWORK_STATE_CHANGED_ACTION. When the scan results are available, I check if my AP is found and if so I connect to it.
When I'm connected to the AP, I receive a NETWORK_STATE_CHANGED_ACTION and there I open a SocketConnection to my serverSocket. The problem I'm having is that on the moment that I'm connected to the AP, the DHCP request is not yet finished. This causes the opening of the socketConnection to throw a "SocketException: Network unreachable". A few moments later I see in the logcat logging: WifiStateTracker - DhcpHandler: DHCP request succeeded. If I try to connect after this message, all goes fine. is there an event that I can listen to that informs me that the DHCP request is done? Now I try to create a connection and while an error occurs I retry. This is however very dangerous for hanging (if e.g the dhcp fails, the loop will never stop...)
Well at schoolwifi seems to work finewell at least it used to it would connect perfectly now it connects and says athundicating or something like that ... I'm on a nexus 7 .. My iPod used to connect until the same thing happen ... My wifi just turned off and I though the schools was down but for then on I couldent connect... I'm guessing that they blocked me ... is their anyway to bypass this .... Note this is not a phone its a 7 inch tablet so I can't pull it out of my pocket and text lmao. I play games on spare time and research stuff at lunch or after school..

My understanding is that this is adequate to keep my traffic from being sniffed by DroidSheep (Android), FireSheep (Windows), or other packet sniffers.

Is the Tasker app the best way to do this?
- if yes: how do I trigger the launch of the SSHTunnel when the trigger event (connection to unsecured wifi network) occurs?
- if no: what is a better way?

I re-flashed evil eris 4 today, & before I did I wiped data/factory then wiped dalvic. When I rebooted & got to the set up screen(set up google account ect.) the wifi worked! so I hit the toggle,& turned it off to make sure the 3G worked. Ever since then I cannot connect to my home wifi.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThere appears to be an issue with my Hero-router WiFi connection. Has anyone had similar experiences or have any advice? My Hero can generally see my home wireless router and report a good signal, though the visibility can drop out (when my other devices are still happily connected). It can also see my neighbors' networks, so it isn't a range issue.
For the most part, the Hero just doesn't seem to want to connect. If I reboot the router it will connect briefly for a couple of secs. I've tried altering a few of the router broadcast settings, trying b-only/ g-only/ b+g, but this hasn't helped (n isn't available, but I understand the Hero to be g anyway). I haven't yet been to another WiFi area, to check if it will connect to other networks. My suspicion is it is a specific compatibility issue with my router (Zoom).
I had been tearing my hair out because my new HTC Desire couldn't see my home WiFi and yet occasionally it would "see" a weak signal from a neighbor's house. My Access point was running WEP so I changed it to WPA-SPK - still no good. So I also set up a second standalone WAP running WEP. Still couldn't see either WAP.
Upgraded to latest ROM firmware. No difference. Long story short, it wasn't the type of security, it was because I was using Channel 13, It suddenly occurred to me that not all countries (I'm in Australia) have Channel 13 available so the phone might not have it either. Changed WAP from 13 to Channel 6 (although any other but 13 would no doubt work) and everything worked.
When I'm away from home without a WiFi connection it seems like nothing works. You Tube, Last FM, eBay and worst of all any of the three different types of Twitter I have. Some of these apps are incredibly slow or others just give up. I've never been able to upload a picture via Twitter using any platform. Really annoying. Seems my Gmail isn't even notifying my anymore.. Have I done something? Is this linked to Orange's notoriously poor set up?
Will rooting my phone help? I'm already running out of space on my phone after downloading what I consider a fairly small number of apps. Why don't they save to, and run off, the SD card?
I am having issues connecting to my WiFi at home using the dinc. I had it set up fine but temporarily disabled.WiFi to test something and can't get it working again.

It recognizes the network but I can't use send/receive any data. My two laptops have no problem connecting to my network but I can't get my phone to. Additionally, my Wii has the same problem. It recognizes the network but can't do anything. Its probably a router problem but their support was useless, so I thought I would try here.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIf I connect to my home WiFi, it works well. I'll go out of the house and come back a few hours later and the phone does not automatically connect to my home WiFi. If I go to settings, I can see it detects my home WiFi, but says "Connection unsuccessful, select to try again." When I select it, it connects and works fine. My problem is, I don't think I should have to physically select my WiFi network everytime I come home. Shouldn't it see it and connect automatically? What am I dong wrong? Do I have a setting turned on/off that should be different?

I have a mac address filter on my router and I put in the correct mac address of my Eris more than once as well and the security settings. I was able to connect my Nintendo DSi with no problem. So when I set up my wi-fi connection, it says it's not in range but remembered. At my job I was able to connect to the wi-fi with no problem. Could it be something with my router? Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or clues.

Interestingly it connects to wiki in my school network. At home, it scans, finds the network, says "connecting" and goes to "Disconnected" status. Setting static IP does not work, selecting Wifi network and Connect does not work.

I did some research and it looks like apps can only turn off Pattern Lock when the phone is rooted. Is this true? WiFi sees the network, says "Connecting", comes up "Failed to connect", "Scanning" and loops on that sequence. I know the router's working because this laptop is using it right now
