Nexus :: Installation Unsuccessful On Several Apps
Oct 4, 2010
I wiped my phone and flashed the latest cm nightly for my N1. I started reinstalling some apps that I had already paid for. Some worked, but other paid apps did not install. I received the 'installation unsuccessful' error message after the app was downloaded from the market. Swiftkey, ProcessManager Full, 360 Live, Rom manager premium, and iSyncr all failed to install properly. I have tried clearing the market cache and rebooting but the error persists. Not really sure what to do anymore. Has anyone gotten around this problem?

So over the past few days the apps ive tried to download dont even start to download, I then turn my phone off and back on again and they start to download, then start to install, but just as i think its done i get a notification saying ''Installation unsuccessful''.
I have 14MB of phone memory left so ive constantly got the low on space icon in the notification bar but i have ample space for the certain apps i wish to download. Have i without realising fiddled with a certain setting or something?

My brother girlfriend has an Inc and she installed Angry Birds just fine.Is anyone else having this problem? Should I just take it to Verizon so see how far that gets me?

Our customers are seeing these errors a lot when purchasing our apps, and other than suggesting a few workarounds(unmount sd card etc), I'm not sure theres anything i can do to fix the issue. Is anyone aware of anything that might be causing it from the app developer side? Obviously our app uploaded fine, and the majority of users can download and install it just fine, but we're seeing this problem a lot and losing a lot of sales because of it. If theres something that we're somehow getting wrong in our app, i'd love to be able to fix it! It seems to be related to Android 2.2 and installing to the sd card Any ideas?

I went to the Market today and noticed Google Maps was automatically updating (I'm using Froyo 2.2 on the Moto Droid). After it downloaded, it said Installing... then it said "Installation of Google Maps unsuccessful". When I go to the app in the market itself, it says "A manual update is required." However, when browsing the "Downloads" section, there is no "Update available" next to Google Maps. all it says is "free" as if its not even installing when it is indeed installed. Anyone know how to fix this issue?

I'm rooted running chevy's simply stunning 4.9. I've noticed some of my apps I have installed doesn't show as installed on the market. So I wasn't receiving updates for it. I click on the app and click install and it reinstalls onto my phone with no issues. However my youtube app doesn't fare as well. It downloads but install is always unsuccessful.
Second problem is with my speaker.
I've got the gba emulator and occasionally play some pokemon fire red. This phone I currently have is a refurb replacement. My first had a bad headphone jack. I was able to play on my first one with volume on full blast without it being all raspy, unfortunately my replacement one I currently have cannot do it past half volume.

I published my app on the market, and when I first tried installing it from there, I got the 'package file was not signed correctly' error. Uninstalling the unsigned version I was testing with let me install from the market with no problems. However, from the comments, it looks like no one else can install my application.
I've put other versions up that worked, and I used the same certificate, so I'm pretty sure it is not an issue with the validity days for the certificate.
The name of my application is Bloxors. It will be going up and down as I try to figure out what the issue is here, but if someone else who is getting the error can debug it it would be greatly appreciated.

I've rooted my HTC Desire with Unprovoked, running Clockworkmod Recovery ROM and AuraxTSense on top.
I've noted that I cannot install the latest versions of Gmail and Google Maps from the Market.
After the whole download gets over, it gives me a message "Installation unsuccessful"
Edit: I've tried downloading the .apk. But installation of even that fails.
Has it anything to do with my custom ROM or with rooting? Can anybody suggest a workaround?

Today, I was connected to my WiFi at home with my Nexus One. I had to reboot my router, and all of a sudden, the Nexus One doesn't connect to my WiFi. When I tell it to, it just says Connection unsuccessful, touch to try again. I tried reboot my phone and router again and also deleting the connection and connecting again, and nothing. It doesn't connect.

I've tried downloading a few apps from the market and they seem to download fine but when they start to install it fails every single time. I've tried clearing the cache of the market then force closeing and rebooting phone and I read that launching google talk could help that hasnt either. The apps in particular are "Angry Birds" and "Baseball Superstarts 2010" both are the full versions. I want to get Angry Birds before it isnt free anymore. Also I am rooted on Clockwork Rom with KingxKernal BFS. And all other apps and updates download and install fine which is really odd.

My phone was working fine and I had downloaded numerous apps with no problems. All of a sudden, when I tried to download apps, they would just be stuck, saying "downloading..." for days.
When searching for a fix for this problem, I was told to clear the Google Apps Cache & login again to clear the problem. I did this and it did not fix the problem. It actually wouldn't let me connect to the market apps at all anymore. So, I searched for a solution to this new problem. The best option was to do a factory reset...which i did.
After the reset, I could not get the market apps to download. Every time I click install on an app, I get the Download Unsuccessful error...please try again. I searched solutions and tried to set up a new google account per those solutions. This still did not fix the problem. I still cannot download anything.
Now I have a reset phone, with no apps! Very frustrating. It seems like I lost all of my data and made it worse.

I have a Nexus 7 tablet and I need to prevent my little brother from installing apps from the Google play store and from other sources. There's an option in the play store to require a pin code but that's only for app purchases, I need to also prevent the installation of free apps.

Long time lurker, first time poster here. As a brand new andoid fan, I've learned a lot from everyone here and now I would love to get help for my problem. I have downloaded lots of apps, but now there seems to be a problem. When I click to download, nothing happens, and then an orange triangle appears with the words "download was unsuccessful, please try again." I have tried all of the suggestions out there, removing and replacing the battery and SIM card, turning Wifi off and back on, logging out of Google Talk (although I seem to be automatically logged back in w/out doing anything), using 2G, 3G and Wifi.

I just got my update for my Nexus today. Unfortunately I made the grave mistake of leaving my Helix 2 app as my main launcher, so I was stuck in an endless loop of force closing. After restoring my phone to factory defaults I was able to set up my gmail account as I did when I first set up the phone.now that I'm going into the market, I'm noticing a LOT of apps that I had before (most of them paid) are not even listed in the app store. I'm also noticing that the Helix apps are not listed either. It would appear that non 2.2 compatible apps are not being listed? I have no idea, but whatever it is, I hope I get my touchdown full version app back soon, otherwise I'll be in a rough spot with work. (not a huge fan of the regular mail).Example, I did a search for the developer "Camel Games" I recently purchased one of these games, however, when I do a search now, I ONLY see all the free version, and no paid versions. If anyone has any insight on this it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone is not seeing the same thing as me, that would be helpful too. If I need to reset my phone again or something, let me know! I miss my apps

I recently upgraded to a 16G SD card in my N1. I backed up the entire contents of my old 4g card and put them on the new card. Ever since, I have not been able to update any apps that have ever resided on my SD card, even if they are now located on the phone. In an effort to resolve this, I uninstalled the afflicted apps, and now I cannot even download them again! I simply get "installation unsuccessful." Anyone have a fix for this? Got a long road trip coming up and I'd really like the use of some of these apps!

I bought the Nexus One last sunday. I'm very pleased with how the phone works. On monday though, I started noticing notifications popping up from the Android Market. It said some applications failed to download. The only app I downloaded so far was Google Earth. Now every now and then it keeps feeding me with these notifications... I've installed an app killer to shut down the Android Market, but after a while it turns back on by itself.

so looks like a problem with 2.2 is that some apps, maybe protected ones, arnt showing up in the market since update. am sure this happened when the desire came out and htc had to do an update to sort it out.does this mean we can expect to be getting an update soon or is it something they can sort out without an update.example of some that no longer show. tapatalk and close everything 2.

So I got my N1 today and installed apps w/ no problem. After I manually updated to 2.2, whenever I try and download an app it says "Sorry, there's not enough space to install this item." If I go to settings, SD Card & phone storage settings, it says I have 158MB available space under Internal phone storage. So I have plenty of room to install things, what's the deal?

Got my N1 on order (should arrive tomorrow), and I was wondering whether we can use a Google Apps email account as the "main"/initial account when we first start up the phone, or if we must use a gmail account?
Reason I'm asking is, there are several things not available to Google Apps account (Google Checkout, Buzz, etc) - so I'm just wondering, since that first account is used to to sync Calendar events (from what I read) and also used to manage what you buy on the Market.
