Nov 6, 2009i read where you can't delete with out rooting or some work.can we hide them or possibly put them in a folder? i don't like seeing them in my app menu

Jul 23, 2010Last night I donated and am just waiting for the paid version now, but I have a couple of questions:
1. What exactly is "freezing" an app? Will it remove the app from the app drawer? Will it just prevent it from running?
2. Can I use Titanium backup to delete apps that are safe for delete like amazon.mp3, etc?
3. If I "freeze" an app like backup assistant will it still be on the phone so that it doesn't brick if I do a reset?
4. Can I delete or freeze things like crap ringtones so they don't show up when I am setting a ringtone?

Feb 12, 2010With my G1 it was possible to hide apps from the drawer, but I can't remember if that was something somone enable via a ROM or a separate app. Anyone with a Droid able to leave an app installed and fully functional, but hide it so it doesn't show up in the app drawer?

I just got my Sprint HTC Hero Android phone and I noticed that it comes preloaded with FACEBOOK. While I know that most people would consider that great, I don't. Do to my job, I am prohibited from using FACEBOOK or MYSPACE and therefore, would have absolutly no use for the application. Aug 23, 2010So I just installed Easy Root because I was so disappointed with the new OTA update I just had to do something...So a few questions that I have are what are some must have apps to have with having a rooted Droid 1. Not much seems to be different, I am still having lag time from loading up my icons when I go back to home which was originally my main problem with the update. I have so far just downloaded Rom Manager, Wireless Tether, and Set CPU which is set at 600 mhz Max and 125 Mhz, is that alright? My last question is how do I delete the pre installed apps? Custom Roms, and kernels whats that all about? Sorry for the new bs questions I'm just really lost and have no idea what I am doing.

But my phone is slow and lags when i try to go home, it sticks between screens and i have to swipe the phone to get it to go to a screen. I am using Open Home when this happens. Since the latest update for AppBrain, the list of updates available shows an update for Facebook. However, when I go to instal the update I am taken to the main install page. As if I didn't have Facebook installed already. When I got to the app manager in settings, Facebook is not listed as an installed app. Anyone know what is going on? Can I just download the marketplace Facebook app and not worry about there being two instances of Facebook on my system?

Awesome phone and this forum has already been a huge help, so I figured I'd join and ask my first question.The phone of course came with some apps already installed. I went to uninstall them, but it doesn't show up. Is there a way to do it with out getting all into moving files and all that stuff? I basically want to get rid of Friend Stream and the Desk Clock (since the other app, Clock, has the desk clock and is the same thing, just a different default setting when you open it).I'd like to maybe ditch the GMail app too, because the Mail app is set up to my gmail and does everything I want it to do.

General :: Remove Unwanted Apps Preinstalled On Phone?
Jul 11, 2012U mainly wanted to root to remove the unwanted apps preinstalled on my phone because I was tired of running out of space. I rooted successfully via Odin. downloaded root installer and removed the unwanted apps. Then I started playing around with other apps. But now when I try to use any of them I get "app was denied super user permission" and telling me I need to be rooted. I tried factory reset but that didn't work. In fact, I now can't even use app uninstaller to remove those apps.
