How do I remove preinstalled stuff on the Droid 2? Specifically things like Skype and Blockbuster and stuff like that.Is there a list of what's safe to remove and initial customizations?

View 2 Replies View RelatedU mainly wanted to root to remove the unwanted apps preinstalled on my phone because I was tired of running out of space. I rooted successfully via Odin. downloaded root installer and removed the unwanted apps. Then I started playing around with other apps. But now when I try to use any of them I get "app was denied super user permission" and telling me I need to be rooted. I tried factory reset but that didn't work. In fact, I now can't even use app uninstaller to remove those apps.

I just got my Sprint HTC Hero Android phone and I noticed that it comes preloaded with FACEBOOK. While I know that most people would consider that great, I don't. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have just received my D2-G this evening. I upgraded from my HTC Droid Eris and man is it an upgrade! I used appbrain to move all of my apps and stuff and the D2-G is fast as heck compared to the Eris. My only problem is that I am getting overwhelmed by all of the CRAP that comes on the phone. I know it has more to offer than my previous but GEEZE is moto and vzw trying to kill me with all of this stuff on the phone? So, I have checked out the posts over the past couple of days on the D2 and I am guessing that there isn't much difference between the D2 and the D2-G aside from the obvious. Now I am just wanting to simplify the phone and get it down to the goods and avoid the bads. I was hoping out the gate to be able to watch netflix on the phone but that doesn't seem to be the case at all (I travel a lot and I also sit and wait a lot). So, maybe someone can point me in the right direction to explain all that this new beast can do and what I need not worry about (as a simple guy who isn't trying to OC the phone and take over the world).

Its like the colors are all faded looking. I have shot some nice looking pictures with my phone before but for some reason here lately they look horrible! Anybody else notice this with their phone when your uploading to a website? I do have photoshop mobile so maybe I should try and edit them first before I upload a picture next time.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI tried searching, but couldn't find anything about my question. My Droid came with Facebook preinstalled. Since the latest update for AppBrain, the list of updates available shows an update for Facebook. However, when I go to instal the update I am taken to the main install page. As if I didn't have Facebook installed already. When I got to the app manager in settings, Facebook is not listed as an installed app. Anyone know what is going on? Can I just download the marketplace Facebook app and not worry about there being two instances of Facebook on my system?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that my wifi signal strength is crap. I can be in the same room about 4 ft away from my router and my signal strength is 2 bars on my wifi. Also on my 3g coverage I am at 1-2 bars max. When I 1st got my phone never had this problem. Any ideas?

I dont knwo what the hell happened but my phone suddenly started reseting its self while on luancher pro and everything changed on it and it kept saying stopped working unexpectedly. I decided to delete the launcher from the phone and intended to download it again but now the phone keeps saying "The application HTC Sense (process com.htclauncher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." then a big button saying force close to push. I keep pushing and it keeps coming back up and I cant do a single thing about it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen the Galaxy S line first started in 2010 with the Fascinate, it was THE phone to have because of its really cool features at the time. Then they got creative with the ticker display on the Continuum and other phones. All the phones had the nice, shiny but plasticy look but I'm okay with it. But it seems like now that Samsung is making just blah phones and slapping the word Galaxy S on it and calling it a day. The Galaxy SII is pretty nice but some phones like the Samsung Illusion don't even have a flash camera anymore. I really hope Samsung and Verizon puts their thinking caps back on and really start hurling more phones like the Galaxy Nexus out onto the sales floor.

I have actually found the phone quite snappy without root and have had no issues since unrooting. This morning I was doing some house cleaning and found that SU is still installed on my phone. I tried to uninstall and got the Uninstall Unsuccessful message. Can someone walk me through uninstalling this app? I have the Android SDK tools installed and have used them, although I am by no means an expert or even a casual user, so be gentle. I am assuming that I will be able to remove the app through some sequence of adb commands.

I am getting real sick of UNREMOVEABLE crap ware or features, some just showing up on my phone. One day it's Kindle, now it's Places. I keep waking up to new junk or built in ahem...features that I don't want and can't remove. Let see - this is what I can't remove so far: Amazon MP3 - Don't play music on phone, don't need it Yeah I know I can root but I don't want to be an Android guru. I just want to use the phone to make calls and use the Apps that I want vs what Google or Verizon thinks is the greatest thing since milk. Jeez - people complain about Jobs having to much control with Apple, this isn't that much different. I feel better but I hope Google and Verizon can YOU HEAR ME NOW. Let us remove this useless junk.

title says it all. i manually installed froyo and it is so buggy there is definatly a problem, now i am seeing that they may be holding off on releasing the OTA. so i ask... Is there a way to remove the 2.2 update? and go back to my 2.1?

get your hands on root manager apk
install>launch> APP REMOVER>choose APPS> find bloatware.
also
launch root manager>APP REMOVER>DATA>remove bloatware.
REBOOT when youre done.
So my phone was rooted using 1 click method during 2.1. However, my phone is now in 2.2. I did a hard/factory reset. Apparently that didn't remove Superuser permission. Residual root files are still there. I made sure to untick the option to back up my settings. So... I'm guessing I have to manually get it out. Any ideas how I can do it now? I'm looking to root 2.2 but I think it's best if I start fresh.
