when im watching a youtube video i go to exit the video and i have to push the the back button twice? and when i visit some web pages i can't zoom in? has anyone experienced this?

I installed it on the X and it worked well, backing up every night. It stopped on 31 July. Should have carried over into August. I re-scheduled it again. Anyone know why it stopped?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was running stock 2.1 on my Droid and I recently rooted it using the instructions here: How-To Root your stock 2.1 Droid. It went off without a hitch. Then, I went to Froyo 2.2, as found here: Download: Newer Motorola Droid Froyo Leak FRF57 | Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog.
After switching to Froyo, it appeared that I was having some issues with my root. I still had the superuser ninja, and I could still use Terminal Emulator. When I opened upTitanium Backup though, it asked me to allow permission which I did, and then it told me that I was not rooted (Setup behaved similarly). So I went and applied the update patch available on the Droid-Life page where I got Froyo and it appeared to work. To my knowledge I AM rooted. I have a custom boot animation and Titanium and Setcpu are working fine. Titanium says my root access is ok and that I am using busybox 1.15.3 from app. All is well, EXCEPT that when I try to use the cp command via terminal emulator I cannot. I recently tried to add a custom boot animation using the following:
su
mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /Dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
mount -o ro,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
exit
After the first line of code I got:usage: mount [-r] [-w] [-o options] [-type] device directory
After the second line however I got the error cp not found. HOWEVER, I was able to apply the boot animation using root explorer. Also, i tested the command busybox and got busybox not found. I can still utilize cd /system app though.
Basically I need to know if I am only partially rooted. I am having a ball with this phone and I would hate to be unable to do some future root process because of a glitch now.
So, today as I was rushing to get on the train after school I needed to make a phone call that would determine what train I would take. Of course, since it was time sensitive my droid decided not to make our receive calls. I would dial the number and hear nothing but silence even tho the call had connected. The party on the other end was getting the call but we could not hear each other.only silence. I had to reboot twice at which point I had a number of voice mails from the person i was calling trying to see what was happening. My phone is not rooted and I just have some basic popular apps. Is this just an occasional smart phone glitch or have others had this happen?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI used my dad's upgrade to get the Evo on launch day. Bought it on his line and transferred it to mine. Now whenever he calls me, instead of saying "Firstname Lastname", it says "Voicemail".
Obviously my voicemail is not calling me. His number still shows up on the incoming call screen.
Same thing happens when I call him. It says I'm calling my voicemail.
My ACTUAL voicemail works just fine.
I am using lockbot pro and I noticed my phone was being woken up by all the buttons not just power. So I went to the app, menu, config and checked prevent wake up. But now the power button wakes it up fine but all the other buttons wake it up to a dimly lit lock screen. Is there a way to get it back to only the power button working like without the app?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI added a few numbers and names to my contacts and a few hours later when I went to view the contact list one of the names was on the screen inside a transparent black box and wouldn't clear even though i could scroll through the list. Has anyone had this happen? I want to know how or why it was there. It took restarting the phone to clear it.

On my samsung galaxy s captivate, There is a little glitch I've ran into where notifications are with the wrong contact label and some times pushes my messages to that person. I'm wondering if this is a glitch that comes with adroid and can be fixed with the up coming froyo up date this month Or should I exchange with my vendor

I posted this in someone elses thread but I figured this deserved it's own post since it's pretty much a deal breaker for me. Hopefully someone has the answer for me. Thanks in advance. "I've been looking for a reliable messaging app since I got my incredible, but I always stuck with the stock sms. The reason being is one HUGE glitch scared me away from handcent. the glitch where it would randomly send a text message to the wrong person from your contact list and pretty much pick a random contact to send the sms to. I can't really have that happen since I use my phone as my work phone and personal phone. It would be a VERY bad situation if a text message I was sending my girlfriend was randomly sent to someone from work or a customer. I've seen people posting about this glitch earlier this year but I've never seen anyone confirm whether it not the glitch has been fixed or still exists? It's not something I want to risk. I guess my reason for posting this is I am very curious to find out if that glitch has been fixed. I would LOVE to use hand cent or chomp but I would like some confirmation as to whether or not that glitch is no more. Can anyone confirm this?"
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a Verizon user in the US Pacific time zone (GMT-8) and ever since daylight saving ended yesterday, I've had a glitch on my incoming message non-Verizon timestamps...they come in as GMT. I just received one at 1:42pm and it says 5:42am. This has been happening all day yesterday and today on messages sent from non-Verizon customers but the ones from my Verizon-using wife are just fine. I can't find any way to fix it in the software itself.

Also, my screen is very glitchy does everyone have that problem? One more thing. I will go to the call list and tap on the person I want to call and it will call someone else. I use my notebook for Android development and have noticed that when I try to create a new project, the "Build Target" section of the New Android Project dialog is unusable because of the small screen size. My notebook's screen resolution is 1366x768 and you can see what I mean in my screenshot here: http://imagebin.org/105099.
Does anyone have any suggestion on how to go about getting this fixed? Eclipse + Android is impossible to use on my notebook because of this bug. (Because the Build target cannot be set, I cannot progress through the dialog to create the project). I'm limited to developing in Genny and compiling manually for now.
My Bose Bluetooth Headset Series 2 makes my keyboard glitch and unresponsive. I have updated the headset's firmware etc. As soon as I turn off the headset, the keyboard returns to normal.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded a picture attachment from my Gmail that is an 'unwanted picture' which I opened when I went to Gallery/Download folder.It is currently the default preview picture now for the Download folder. I've already deleted this picture from the Download folder, but anytime I download a new picture attachment, it still uses the 'unwanted' pic as the folder preview.I've even tried manually deleting the Download folder using AstroFile Manager.Everything I've tried doesn't seem to work.I desperately need help because currently I'm not able to download any picture from my Gmail account without that stupid picture showing up as the preview for the Download folder.

The main points that I like to enjoy is: Droid beat out the phone that beat the iPhone, and the Droid got further in the brackets than any other Android OS phone Some of the progress is due to hardware, some due to following (over the Nexus'), but a lot due to the v2.01 (and now 2.1) version of the Android OS. Also, this poll is open ALL weekend - it does not close until April 5th, so we have tons of time...but then again, so does the Palm Pre. Let's have at 'em!

I don't care that it is kind of blocky as long as it has Android 2.0 or higher (including Google Maps Navigation). Seriously, the keyboard on it kicks the (edited by mod) out of the Droid. The keyboard on the Droid has been causing me serious grief because I do not like typing on the virtual keyboards and the physical keyboard is so flat and requires so much pressure to press one of the keys that it cramps my thumb up with any moderate usage. Has anyone heard anything at all about a release date?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been messing around with my phone for quite sometime and I've reached a road block that I can't quite figure out. I've previously and successfully put JRummy, Cyanogen and Bugless Beast on my phone, but suddenly out of nowhere, NOTHING works. I'm attempting to put a custom ROM on my phone and I've had little to no success.These are the steps I've taken:
Start at stock 2.1
Apply ESE81_SPRecovery with RSD Lite 4.6 (Proper drivers installed)
Phone boots successfully and I can boot into SPR successfully
Move custom ROM onto SD card named as "update.zip" (not update.zip.zip)
Reboot into recovery
Wipe data & cache 3x
Go to Install and Allow update.zip
Install update.zip (UD7 specifically -- not a corrupted download as I've downloaded several times from different locations. I've also tried several different ROMs)
Install is successful
Reboot and I get stuck at the Motorola M
I wait 10 - 20 minutes and no boot screen
Pull battery, wipe data & cache again, reboot
Same issue with Motorola M
I've tried literally everything and Cyanogen, Liquid, Bugless Beast, UD7, and numerous other custom ROMs all have this same issue. I've tried wiping my SD card completely clean.I had momentary success when I flashed back to stock 2.0.1 sbf with RSD Lite, installed SPR, then applied Liquid custom ROM but I felt daring and tried to do the same process but with UD7 and it won't load. Since then, nothing has worked.I've tried this same process on two different computers with different versions of RSD Lite (4.6 and 4.7), different sbf files, different ROMs and tried using SPR and Clockwork (With ROM Manager Premium and different versions of Clockwork). However, none of this has worked.When these processes don't end up working I have to reflash the stock 2.1 sbf with RSD Lite because restore won't work either.
From BGR after the Motorola Press Conference at CES..All Motorola Android handsets, including the CLIQ, will be updated to Android 2.1.Motorola is working on Flash 10.1 integration, is optimized for the DROID's chipset and will be pushed out the DROID at some time in the future.Motorola DROID will receive a second maintenance update in the near future..Motorola kept is short and sweet so that is all folks!
Heres hoping for sooner rather than later. Only thing that concerns me about soon is the fact that the last statement just says maintenance update in the near future. So im kinda thinking 2.1 wont be with it on the 22nd.
I'm upgrading from my Droid 1 to the Droid X tomorrow and would like to start my use of the DX with it's new 32gb card in place of my old 16gb card from my Droid 1 but need to know if there's anything required to copy from my droid 1 16gb card to my new DX 32 gb card that would be required or helpful in the DX use.I will obviously transfer music/vids/pics but are there any essential files, apps, etc. that are needed.Or is it a good idea to use my paid MyBackupPro to copy the old Droid 1 apps/data for use in the DX larger memory card or is this not copatible to perform between the 2 devices?

I have 2 overclocking utilities. (Setcpu, and overclock widget) I understand that I have to update or flash the Kernel. The adb commands were successfull. WHen I rebooted my droid it was bricked (well not really cause I did a Nandroid backup right before I did this) It was just frozen with the white Motorola logo. Perhaps I downloaded a bad 800 mhz evilboot8.img.
