I used my dad's upgrade to get the Evo on launch day. Bought it on his line and transferred it to mine. Now whenever he calls me, instead of saying "Firstname Lastname", it says "Voicemail".
Obviously my voicemail is not calling me. His number still shows up on the incoming call screen.
Same thing happens when I call him. It says I'm calling my voicemail.
My ACTUAL voicemail works just fine.

I am using lockbot pro and I noticed my phone was being woken up by all the buttons not just power. So I went to the app, menu, config and checked prevent wake up. But now the power button wakes it up fine but all the other buttons wake it up to a dimly lit lock screen. Is there a way to get it back to only the power button working like without the app?

View 18 Replies View RelatedI got the Droid yesterday, and I'm trying to use Google Voice *just* for voicemail. However, it seems like I never get notifications about new voicemail, unless the app is open. Also, recorded voicemail is very soft when it's played back, almost too soft to hear.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI added a few numbers and names to my contacts and a few hours later when I went to view the contact list one of the names was on the screen inside a transparent black box and wouldn't clear even though i could scroll through the list. Has anyone had this happen? I want to know how or why it was there. It took restarting the phone to clear it.

I posted this in someone elses thread but I figured this deserved it's own post since it's pretty much a deal breaker for me. Hopefully someone has the answer for me. Thanks in advance. "I've been looking for a reliable messaging app since I got my incredible, but I always stuck with the stock sms. The reason being is one HUGE glitch scared me away from handcent. the glitch where it would randomly send a text message to the wrong person from your contact list and pretty much pick a random contact to send the sms to. I can't really have that happen since I use my phone as my work phone and personal phone. It would be a VERY bad situation if a text message I was sending my girlfriend was randomly sent to someone from work or a customer. I've seen people posting about this glitch earlier this year but I've never seen anyone confirm whether it not the glitch has been fixed or still exists? It's not something I want to risk. I guess my reason for posting this is I am very curious to find out if that glitch has been fixed. I would LOVE to use hand cent or chomp but I would like some confirmation as to whether or not that glitch is no more. Can anyone confirm this?"
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a Verizon user in the US Pacific time zone (GMT-8) and ever since daylight saving ended yesterday, I've had a glitch on my incoming message non-Verizon timestamps...they come in as GMT. I just received one at 1:42pm and it says 5:42am. This has been happening all day yesterday and today on messages sent from non-Verizon customers but the ones from my Verizon-using wife are just fine. I can't find any way to fix it in the software itself.

Also, my screen is very glitchy does everyone have that problem? One more thing. I will go to the call list and tap on the person I want to call and it will call someone else. View 4 Replies View RelatedI believe I have found a glitch in the Eclipse Android SDK. I use my notebook for Android development and have noticed that when I try to create a new project, the "Build Target" section of the New Android Project dialog is unusable because of the small screen size. My notebook's screen resolution is 1366x768 and you can see what I mean in my screenshot here: http://imagebin.org/105099.
Does anyone have any suggestion on how to go about getting this fixed? Eclipse + Android is impossible to use on my notebook because of this bug. (Because the Build target cannot be set, I cannot progress through the dialog to create the project). I'm limited to developing in Genny and compiling manually for now.
In my notification bar at the top of my screen it says i have 1 voicemail. This notification also pops up when i turn my phone back on from being locked. However, when I check my voicemail, I do not have a new message or any saved messages either. Whats going on and how do I get rid of it?
View 16 Replies View RelatedI was running stock 2.1 on my Droid and I recently rooted it using the instructions here: How-To Root your stock 2.1 Droid. It went off without a hitch. Then, I went to Froyo 2.2, as found here: Download: Newer Motorola Droid Froyo Leak FRF57 | Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog.
After switching to Froyo, it appeared that I was having some issues with my root. I still had the superuser ninja, and I could still use Terminal Emulator. When I opened upTitanium Backup though, it asked me to allow permission which I did, and then it told me that I was not rooted (Setup behaved similarly). So I went and applied the update patch available on the Droid-Life page where I got Froyo and it appeared to work. To my knowledge I AM rooted. I have a custom boot animation and Titanium and Setcpu are working fine. Titanium says my root access is ok and that I am using busybox 1.15.3 from app. All is well, EXCEPT that when I try to use the cp command via terminal emulator I cannot. I recently tried to add a custom boot animation using the following:

cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
mount -o ro,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system

After the first line of code I got:usage: mount [-r] [-w] [-o options] [-type] device directory
After the second line however I got the error cp not found. HOWEVER, I was able to apply the boot animation using root explorer. Also, i tested the command busybox and got busybox not found. I can still utilize cd /system app though.
Basically I need to know if I am only partially rooted. I am having a ball with this phone and I would hate to be unable to do some future root process because of a glitch now.
My Bose Bluetooth Headset Series 2 makes my keyboard glitch and unresponsive. I have updated the headset's firmware etc. As soon as I turn off the headset, the keyboard returns to normal.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded a picture attachment from my Gmail that is an 'unwanted picture' which I opened when I went to Gallery/Download folder.It is currently the default preview picture now for the Download folder. I've already deleted this picture from the Download folder, but anytime I download a new picture attachment, it still uses the 'unwanted' pic as the folder preview.I've even tried manually deleting the Download folder using AstroFile Manager.Everything I've tried doesn't seem to work.I desperately need help because currently I'm not able to download any picture from my Gmail account without that stupid picture showing up as the preview for the Download folder.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, today as I was rushing to get on the train after school I needed to make a phone call that would determine what train I would take. Of course, since it was time sensitive my droid decided not to make our receive calls. I would dial the number and hear nothing but silence even tho the call had connected. The party on the other end was getting the call but we could not hear each other.only silence. I had to reboot twice at which point I had a number of voice mails from the person i was calling trying to see what was happening. My phone is not rooted and I just have some basic popular apps. Is this just an occasional smart phone glitch or have others had this happen?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have Moto Droid with the new 2.1 version. I am using Mixzing for me media player but I don't think this is a Mixzing problem but something with the Android platform or in the syncing process. I'm using Windows Media player to make play lists and sync to the Droid.
It worked great the first time. I had some mp3's on my sd card and Mixzing picked them all up. Now I wanted to add more and the new mp3's won't show up on my Droid even though it says they have synced successfully in Windows Media player. I don't know where else to look for them but they are not in Mixzing.
Could it be a Windows Media problem? I even looked for them through the media player that came with the Droid and it shows the first synced mp3's but not the ones I tried the second time.
After transferring my videos to my PC I have no sound. I downloaded media player classic and get sound through that but it still didn't help me get sound when I try to make a movie on windows live movie maker. Does anyone know what program I can use to get sound for making movies and burning DVDs?

I already know that it will play MPEG-4 videos without a problem (you can use the RealPlayer Video Downloader to download HQ/HD videos from places like Youtube and it automatically saves them to MPEG-4 format).
However, I want to transfer some files like music videos onto my HTC Hero and having tried several times, using the RealPlayer Converter, to convert the .mpg files to .wmv, I can't watch them on the Hero.
However, I recently looked at one of the threads (I think on a different forum) and he said that he could watch videos in WMV format using 750kbps on resolution 480x320. But RealPlayer only allows for 768kbps and resolution as 480p HD as the nearest possible (which was the setting I ordinarily chose).
The other strange thing is that when I go onto the Albums part of the phone to see if I can view any videos, it shows a thumbnail image of the music video (a preview image of the video) and when I play it, I can hear the music, but the video itself fails to appear.
I just transferred my .mp4 movies over to my droid. I'm getting perfect audio, but no picture. The movie plays fine on my computer.

My google account has uploaded all my contacts to the replacement and I switched the SD cards which took care of my saved Pics etc. None of my apps have shown up on the replacement besides the pre existing loaded ones from HTC and google.

and moved them to there
and now i cant find folder or photos
I plugged in my HTC Inspire 4G, and tried to copy everything on the card to a temporary folder, which I will then copy back to my new SD card. But the weird thing is Windows says the total size of all files and folders I copied is 1.85GB, but when I right click->Properties on the Removable Disc, it says the card has 1.94GB used. So there's about 90MB of something that's on the card but Windows can't see or copy. I'm concerned there's something hidden there that will cause problems if my phone can't find it on the new card. Any way I can make sure everything is copied over?
