Anyone know how to stop the motorla phone tools from installing automatically when you connect the phone for the first time? Also how to avoid browser pop up of verizon media manager when you connect?

Not sure which app or setting is causing this, but I'd like to get rid of it.When I get an SMS a pop-up is displayed,I have no idea what is causing it and would like to disable it.I had Handcent SMS installed, but uninstalled it. It had a pop-up, but a different one.I also have Missed Call installed, but do not have SMS configured, nor do I think it even has an option for pop-windows like this anyway.

I do have a problem though: My house is in the same town as a non-verizon CDMA tower (US Cellular) and very far away from the nearest Verizon tower. With my other Verizon phones (older handsets), they just connect to the close tower and have full signal all the time without any issues. My Droid, on the other hand, will always try to stay connected to the distant Verizon tower - it can be very difficult and frustrating to make calls with the Droid because there is often no signal and the phone is unable to place a call. I don't need the 3G at home, as the Droid can use my wireless for browsing, etc. How can I get the Droid to stop trying to connect to the distant Verizon tower and connect to the nearby partner tower instead (so that I have high-quality phone signal at home)? I have called Verizon and Motorola and nothing seems to help.

Now, the height and width variables were supposed to be height and width of the layout used for the popup window (popupcontact). But they return 0. I guess that is because the layout isn't rendered yet. Does anyone have a clue, how can I control the size of the popup window without needing to use absolute pixel numbers?

I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.
Is it possible to get more than one popup window in the browser?Popups are accepted in settings.We are using a website in my work that redirect first to one popup (and thats ok) but from there it redirect to another popup and its here the phone blocks the popup with the message tah one popup are allready open.Before 2.2 the first site open as a new site and not as an popup and the second as a popup and that was ok.I have tryed original browser, opera and Dolphin with the same result.

Since loading Cyanogen 5.0.7 and now 5.0.7.1, I have been unable to get SDK tools working in order to push apps to my Droid....when I start with the usual "adb shell" I get an error message saying "adb server out of date....killing"...I then get a "device not found" message any time I try to connect again...
I downloaded the newest version of SDK tools thinking that would update the adb server, but that did nothing. I upgraded to the 5.0.7.1 Cyanogenmod ROM, but getting the same message...
USB debugging is connected. my Droid Sd card is not mounted worked fine before upgrading to CM 5.0.7 stable. worked fine on 5.0.7 test 1.
I have a copy from my Razr days. Would it be advisable to update and try using with my new DX?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a MapActivity as one of four tabs in a TabActivity.This MapActivity can launch a PopupWindow that is a legend. The PopupWindow remains on the screen, on top of the map, until the "Show Legend" button is clicked again (back and forth, etc.).The problem is that, when a user switches to another tab, the PopupWindow remains persistent over the view.I've tried implementing the onPause() method in the MapActivity class, and dismissing it from there. The application force closes with this method in place.I hope this provides an idea of where I'm at. Everything works perfectly well on the Map tab. It's only when you have the Legend shown and switch tabs that it is still displayed on other views.

Basically, how can one dismiss a PopupWindow when changing to a different TabActivity? The onPause() method in my TabActivity causes the app to force close.

Or do they glow with pride, knowing that they have developed something that struck a creative chord with so many people and that their product is something we just can't get enough of? It just may be some of the Moto-gurus themselves who prompt and post some of the modifications and changes that get us nudged into one astonishing direction or another. I can think of several helpful members here now that I would not be a bit surprised if I found that they were co-creators and architects of the Droid. Hats off and thanks to you, either way! View 3 Replies View RelatedI just loaded up bugless beast 0.4(2.2) and noticed that for the default messaging app I was getting a pop up window every time I got a text. I found no way to disable this. So I finally decided to just load Handcent and use that. So I disabled all notifications for the default app, and set up Handcent. The pop up options are not selected yet I still get this stupid popup!

There is a website I freqent for work that I need to get to. It has to go through 2 popups to get to it. Prior to Froyo the browser allowed 2 popups, but now it only allows 1. I can't get to this site anymore and I really neet to.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy battery drained all the way until the "red" and a popup came up that said "Battery is less than 5 percent. Connect to charger" So I connect to charger. An hour or so later, the battery icon is "full" and green, I disconnect my charger and it immediately shoots down to red with the popup appearing again. I have tried charging it on numerous Motorola chargers, even overnight and it still happens? Anyone have this issue?

They're probably not functionally different, but I think the genuine Motorola accessory looks more Droid-ish. Anyone out there have both? Is there actually a difference? It always drives me nuts that Verizon will sell you a really nice phone, but then carry their own version of the accessories.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently switched over from Win 7 to Mint 15 and cannot get ADB and fastboot to work for the life of me! On Windows, I just downloaded and installed the Android SDK and had no trouble using ADB and fastboot to mod my phone. It is proving to be much more difficult on Linux.
I've searched Google, Linux Mint forums, and these forums; tried following numerous guides, and still my comp can't recognize my phone. Every time I type in "adb devices" I get "List of connected devices" followed by a blank line. No question marks and certainly no connected devices. "lsusb" shows my HTC One S as connected so I know it's not my USB port.
When I plug in my phone, I get an error message, "Unable to mount Android Phone Unable to open MTP device '[usb:002,005]'" and then a file explorer window opens displaying my phone contents anyways. Not sure if this could have anything to do with it but I thought I'd mention it.
