Motorola Droid :: Motorola Promises 2.1 Update Fro Droid At CES

Jan 6, 2010

From BGR after the Motorola Press Conference at CES..All Motorola Android handsets, including the CLIQ, will be updated to Android 2.1.Motorola is working on Flash 10.1 integration, is optimized for the DROID's chipset and will be pushed out the DROID at some time in the future.Motorola DROID will receive a second maintenance update in the near future..Motorola kept is short and sweet so that is all folks!

Heres hoping for sooner rather than later. Only thing that concerns me about soon is the fact that the last statement just says maintenance update in the near future. So im kinda thinking 2.1 wont be with it on the 22nd.

Motorola Droid :: Motorola Droid / Milestone Update Petition

Jan 5, 2010

Unlike our US counterpart (Motorola Droid) the European Motorola Milestone/ users are not currently given any updates at all. The update server does not respond, as such we are stuck with 2.0 and with well known documented problems. Some of which make the device not usable.

Motorola Droid X :: Update To 2.2 Via In Recovery - Install Rom Manager

Aug 28, 2010

I've got a quick question.

My friend bricked his DX with the Deodexing or whatever. After an sbf flash..

Can we update to 2.2 via in recovery, install rom manager, and then install MY backup on his phone? I'm currently uploading them to file hosting, and wondering if this would work.

If so, will he be fully rooted, deodexed, and themed(I'm rocking the xtreme 2.2 theme)?

Motorola Droid X :: Overclock Droid X 2.2 Via

Oct 20, 2010

I turned FreeWells writeup into an - ALL CREDIT GOES TO HIM!

This is also now available in Rom Manager under Beesley's Build.Props

All you need to do now is run the insmod code and from terminal after flashing this.

Beesleys OC

After you flash that and reboot..

From a terminal with "su" (#)

insmod /system/lib/modules/overclock.ko <--- DONT FORGET THE "SPACE" AFTER INSMOD!!

Boom. Done. 1.38Ghz

If your phone cant run that high, edit the values via root explorer.

People who did the OTA should have no problems

I recommend you get the app called GScript and then make the following scripts (very easy!)

To turn OC On

Motorola Droid :: Want To Edit An Update

Mar 2, 2010

Here is what I'm trying do accomplish. I want to use the newest Bugles beast Rom but i want to insert the Adamz kernal, wifi driver, and a framework-res file so it can all be installed in 1 update. reason for this is i have 3 friends that i have rooted phones for and would like to keep them updated with the most current rom but i want them to only have to install 1 file (they are not very tech savy). so anyways i tried simply dropping those files in there appropriate place and installing it but i get an error "(bad) installation aborted" so what do i need to create/edit an file. i read maybe i need to sign the update but i have no idea how to do that.

Is there a way to root after the OTA 2.1 update yet?

Sorry, I had my noob goggles on this morning and accidentally applied the OTA update after I did the baseband update so now I've lost root. I know, I know... that update file should never have been on my sd card to start with.

I did a backup with ROMmanager prior to these updates, but can't do anything with it now. Just need to root again so life can continue.

Motorola Droid X :: Check Update

Oct 30, 2010

I have a DX running the 2.2 OTA. I rooted my phone but did nothing else (no deodex, no custom anything.) I did rename some of the default apps to disable them but backed up before. Now, here is my question. I want to check for updates (I know where are none, but I keep hoping there will be to fix all the little bugs Froyo seems to have) and I get a "Check for update was not available at this time." I get this EVERY TIME.

Could this be a problem from rooting? Is anyone else having this issue? And yes, I did disable the wifi only updating in settings, so it isn't that.

Looking for a peep or light at the end of the tunnel on this!

This is unusual, as we all know the internet is based on rumor and conjecture and if we don't have that we don't have an internet.

I just flashed back to 2.1 using RSDlite 4.7 and the sbf file, but is my operating system up to date? As soon as I flashed it, i rooted it and that all works fine, but i hear that rooting doesn't allow OTA updates. I went into settings and found that my phone said it was up to date, but idk if this is accurate with rooting right after the sbf flash.
