Motorola Droid X :: Droid X Running Froyo / Folders Lockup
Nov 3, 2010I have a Droid X running Froyo. The folders every now and then lockup and won't open. I have to restart the phone to get them to work (sometimes I just have to leave them alone for a while and come back). Any one know how to fix this or what's going on?

Aug 4, 2010I couldn't wait for the OTA, so i manually updated from the droid life site. now that i am running 2.2 my phone is so slow its almost impossible to use. whenever i put the phone in standby then start up the phone to do something, it takes approx 10 seconds to repopulate the home screen and approx 20 seconds before i can swipe to a different home screen.
I am obviously not rooted, i do run live wallpaper and only have 2 widgets (beautiful home and calendar) phone ran great on 2.1
Motorola Droid X :: Running Stock 2.1 - Route For Froyo
Oct 23, 2010Had the dX for about a month now, still running the stock 2.1 OS and have not upgraded to froyo yet, i played with a friends phone with 2.2 OTA but he has had some issues with the phone since OTA and i am concerned about upgrading with the whole bootloader deal and not being able to do what i want with the phone. currently with the dX i have it rooted with universal androot with recovery and thats about it.
I am new to the dX and i have been reading alot, but i have a few questions because there doesnt seem to be a clear answer anyhwere on what the best route to go is. i am coming from a rooted custom rom'd and OC'd eris so i am familiar with the processes and how to modify android.
Here is what i am looking to do
Froyo
root
overclock
recovery
custom rom/theme
remove bloatware
deodex
From what i have read i have 2 options, 2.2 leak and OTA
Is there is a leaked 2.3.15 and is that the best option over the OTA ?
What does the OTA offer that the leak doesnt and vice versa
I guess once i figure out what version of 2.2 to go with i can take the rest from there. i have been looking at the team black hat app is this a good idea ?

Also, after coming from sense i hate the moto dialer, personally think its terrible no easy way to just call someone wiht out dialing a million things, is there options for a custom dialer like the sense dialer ?
Motorola Droid X :: Froyo Can't Get Along Both Nav And Pandora Running Same Time
Aug 31, 2010Ever since I upgraded to the non-official Froyo, I've been experiencing problems trying to get the two to work together. If I'm on hte Pandora screen with the Nav running in background, the song will pause when directions are given (audio priority to Nav) and will not play again until I hit play (note that the song is actually paused in pandora and not just temporarily muted by the Android OS) If I'm on the Nav screen (with Pandora running in background) the song will stop playing when directions are given, and when I hit home to get back to Pandora, I find that it had been terminated completely and I have to restart it.

Sep 25, 2010I've noticed the GPS icon at the top of the screen even when I'm not in a GPS app. It's definitely affecting my battery life. I've rebooted the phone a few times. I used Google Maps last night, but closed it before I went to bed. This morning my battery was really low and the GPS icon was still sitting there. My wife noticed a similar occurrence of GPS running more than expected on her Droid X as well.

Aug 22, 2010Has anyone noticed that there are lots of apps that are autostarting with the new froyo update. I have to constantly open Advanced task Killer to kill these apps. Things like, skype, google search, and contacts for example. Any way to keep these from autostarting every 5 seconds... its like they start immediately after I kill them.

Aug 31, 2010I send lots of text video messages. Before the 2.2 update, the MMS capable video had a decent resolution up to 30 seconds. Since the update, the resolution on the MMS setting (or the low setting) is horrible and almost too grainy to be visible. Is there any workaround? I tried taking just a very short high res. video but it won't let me text it.

Oct 5, 2010I'm tired of the slow performance of the Motorola Bluetooth voice dialer. Now with Froyo sporting its own Bluetooth voice dialer, does anyone know if there's a way to switch to it? I am running 2.2. My biggest issue with the Motorola bluetooth voice dialer is that'll take up to 30 seconds from the time I press the dial button on my bluetooth device till it'll be ready for me to say a command. Totally unacceptable! Is my only option to go to a custom ROM?

Jul 8, 2010so been rooted for quite some time now, got my droid out of my pocket and its just a blank screen.Tried multiple battery pulls, memory card pulls, boots into recovery, nothing will get it to reboot again. its essentially bricked.I wasn't flashing anything battery was just charged, everythign was fine, 800mhz kernel.Now my question is can I return this phone to the Verizon store and still be under warranty, I've had the phone the day it came out with no problems.I think the screen just went out, I can still move the buttons on the screen even when they don't show, and I can also lock the phone with the lock button. Still will I be okay returning this on warranty with the screen out and rooted?

How to Root DROID X Running Official Android 2.2 - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog and well when I hook up my phone to my computer its telling me that it can install the driver. (Its never done this before when I had 2.1) the SDK program wont even do screen shots for me so thats the main reason I am trying to root. I know thats a dumb reason but still. I know this isn't much info but its all I got for you. I did run the root program and it said my phone is now rooted and no errors occurred. I know its not rooted cause the screen shot applications are not working on my phone.
