I've had my Droid X since Tuesday and since then my phone has gotten faster everyday. Im talking about things such as scrolling through screens and the app drawer. Stuff like that. So if anyone is coming from a really snappy 2.2 Droid like myself give it time!

I've been using ADW because I like the easy cookie cutter themes but I notice it lags sometimes when switching between screens and sometimes icons and widgets will disappear then reappear as the screens load. I tried the free version of Launcher Pro and as I was setting up the screens it felt like it was smoother. But that could have been because I didn't have anything on them yet. I know most people here use Launcher Pro - is it because it is faster or smoother? I can almost get away with using the free version but I need to be able to resize widgets.

Petes 2.1 V0.5 and maybe another, SO which one is better or running smoother.. I have not OC'ed my droid yet so what happens if I install one and it is just boot loops, how will I fix that?
All credit for this animation release goes to Fab, I just made all the images about 20% smaller in file size (not dimensions).The best place in my opinion for boot animations is data/local. This allows you to keep your stock boot animation in place if you ever decide to delete this new one. The system looks here first anyway for the animation file, then in the system folder. Also if you flash a new rom, and don't wipe data, it should stay in place.

Long time Hotmail user. Live Mail works great on Windows mobile of course. I know I can set up the Eris to poll foor hotmail but I have a question.Will email run smoother if I just forward my hotmail account to my Gmail? And if I set up my gmail through the internet UI to "Reply As" my hotmail account, will it also set that as my reply as when I reply via my Eris?

I was at the verizon store yesterday comparing them even the htc incredible runs smoother as far as the interface goes. Will rooting make this better? I'm sure the EVO is capable even more than any of those two phones.
View 4 Replies View RelatedLauncherpro Plus seems to be laggy at times especially when pressing the home button while you're in a program e.g. Angry Birds. With touchwiz, this lag is completely gone, making the experience much better. With Launcherpro Plus, I'd have to wait a couple of seconds for the home screen to pop up. Is this just my phone, or is the lag a price you have to pay for an awesome launcher?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI received a text this morning from someone at 4am. i gave them a hard time and said they sent it at 830am and not 4... looked at my emails and were just receiving ones sent at 330am that were sent the day before... something is defiantly going on. this is an exchange account and i know there is issues with this that were supposed to be fixed. but the text at the wrong time, plus the emails... i am thinking something else is wrong..
what should i do?
Rooted my replacement Vibrant but didn't wanna remove the bloatware right away in case future froyo required it. So, I tried just freezing the apps with Titanium. This makes sure they never start up when you turn your phone on and they are removed from the app drawer. You just unfreeze them whenever you want. Anyway, it makes the app drawer/homescreen scrolling a lot smoother.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had the original droid and now a droid X. Normally when charging either of them it takes like 2+ hours to fully charge from a low charge. Tonight I was at a friends house and I took out this new cord I bought at walmart that came with a universal usb car charger. My droid was on 20% and within 20-30 minutes it charged to full! I'm almost positive the computer was charging it via usb 2.0. Now I have usb 2.0 on my home computers but it always takes 2-3 hours to charge. I went home and went from a 70% charge to 100% in minutes via this "new" cord and not using the cord that came with the droid. Is it possible the cord with the droid only will charge at a certain rate and this new cord is charging much much faster or enabling usb 2.0 instead of 1.0 or 1.1? It would be great to not have to charge my droid all night long all the time. Also is there a way to know if your droid is charging via usb 1.0, 1.1, or 2.0 or even usb 3.0? Does this make a difference with charging times?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Droid for a little over 60 days, and I've recently started seeing what I consider a Major issue. This aside, I Love my Droid, but I've been ready to throw it through a wall lately. It's been restarting at LEAST 10, maybe even up to 20 times a day. I uninstalled every app I had on it to see if maybe it was an app causing the problem. I hadn't downloaded any new ones before I started noticing it, but it was worth exploring.
So far, it hasn't helped at All. It's still randomly restarting all the time. I don't even have to do anything with it. It's restarted 4 times in a row just sitting on my lap while I was driving home. I've heard my "Droid" notification and checked it, seeing that it was preparing the SD card. I've left it sitting and came back to it to find it's not running any of the pages I had up when I last put it down, etc.

I have spare parts but I dont know which option to view for awake time because "other usage" with "time since boot" tells me it has only been a few minutes but the phone awake time under settings tells me 25 minutes awake time.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI set my screen time out to 30 seconds and..it's been 30 seconds my screen is not timing out. This can be REALLY annoying when I forget to push the power button and just put the phone in my pocket and the battery drains.
I called verizon about this yesterday they had me turn my phone off and back on and then it did time out. Today I tried the same thing and it's not timing out..
The phone is brand new, only 3 days old has not been dropped or anything.
For some reason my screen timeout setting keeps resetting itself and only staying on for like 5 seconds.
