Rooted my replacement Vibrant but didn't wanna remove the bloatware right away in case future froyo required it. So, I tried just freezing the apps with Titanium. This makes sure they never start up when you turn your phone on and they are removed from the app drawer. You just unfreeze them whenever you want. Anyway, it makes the app drawer/homescreen scrolling a lot smoother.

So my Vibrant has been freezing on me and then consequently restarting to the state right after the Galaxy S boot screen, where it shows no signal and searching for media on the SD, etc.
Today it did some really really weird stuff!
I was using Google nav and then all of a sudden the screen froze, but it didn't reset or anything. The screen it froze was not good looking either, it looks like it's faded with scan lines.
I attached a picture, sorry for the low quality, but only had a friend's Pre to document it before I had to do a battery pull. But you can see the scan lines on the screen faintly.
I got a vibrant for 2 weeks now....really satisfied with it except it keep turning back to home screen by itself, when i try to access to google or some other websites like that......

View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone, installed lagfix, and removed some bloatware from the phone via Titanium. The phone was stupid fast after doing this, almost everything loaded up instantly. However I started to notice some things weren't functioning properly. Apps on the marketplace would not download, I would try to download Launcher Pro and nothing would happen, nothing downloaded. Tried this with other apps, same thing. I rebooted the phone and noticed upon reboot that a force close/app error happened, not sure which app it was but it had google in it. I have no idea what app it could have been since I only removed apps if I knew what they were like Slacker, Kindle, Sims etc. Maybe removing the Sims caused the error?
I also noticed that emails wouldn't send (or would take a long time) even when I was on wifi. And the XDA app wouldn't work. I would go to make a post, click the text input box, but it wouldn't let me move the text cursor. I would press the keyboard and nothing happened.
I removed a crap ton of apps but they weren't anything major. I also removed the samsung widgets since I would never use those. Guess I should have asked on the forums before removing so much stuff.
Which apps are okay to remove? Any ideas on which app could have caused the market to mess up?
Is there a way to get the icons in my home screens to show the entire name? There's plenty of room if it just goes to a second line.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got ballsy and since T-Mo is sending me a new phone since this one is Hardware locked and I can't get into ODIN, I opened up mini Kies and got the new firmware. All it did was re-install all the bloat I deleted before and got rid of root.
I don't know if this is universal or I got lucky, but it worked. It hung on the Galaxy S screen for about a minute, but after that it's awesome.
I see 12 Sats indoors and I connect to 7. Outside I see 13 and I connect to 11.
Vibrant is the best phone I've ever owned after this GPS update.
When you click applications button, you will see all the applications icons. I like this icons better than home screen icons because it looks bigger and feel more comfortable when I look at it. Well, yes it looks like iphone screen.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm afraid to bring this up as I suspect I might be headed for a replacement phone,For the last week or so, I've noticed my phone seems to be scrolling to the left automatically.The home screen will scroll as well as if I'm in the market for example and trying to enter a search term, the blinking cursor will move to the left. It's more of an annoyance than anything else.The phone still works great, but I'm worried that it might turn into something bigger.

So I dropped my vibrant (with rubber SGP Silk case) about 4 feet from the ground and the screen is completely destroyed. There is no external damage, but functionality is completely gone. I got my vibrant about a month ago.

Doing this, however, changed the page that comes up when I hit the actual "Home" button. It's becoming very annoying and switching the order of the pages around by dragging them in the Edit mode hasn't helped. It even sometimes chooses the very right-most, completely blank page to be the default home one. How can I assign which of the Home pages I want to pop up when that button is hit?

View 14 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed some type of faint scrolling lines on their screens. I notice it more when on lighter backgrounds, like the blue ink splash. Both my behold II and a friends has the same thing. Is this a property of OLED screens, some type of refresh? They are horizontal lines and dont always cover the whole screen.I really read how awesome an OLED screen was supposed to be, but eh I think the Iphone screen is still nicer. Any thoughts on these lines, I doubt this is limited to two phones.

It has to be very dark and you have to look closely and tilth phone upward. It doesn't bug me but i just wanted to share with you guys.

Works fine but the file size is like 1.5GB, does anyone know if there is a way to make the file smaller? I'm not hugely concerned that the quality is the best, but hopefully not too pixally, I just want something to watch while I'm at the gym.
Is there a way to make the home screen change orientation with the accelerometer? On my phone, it will only change when I pull out the physical keyboard, which is not really what I'm looking to do most of the time.It changes just fine in all other applications, but the home screen doesn't.
