I just found out that the GPS will NOT work while streaming music with pandora/slacker...I like listening to this music and having the directions spoken over the music while I am driving...Why the hell does GPS NOT work while streaming? It worked just fine on my Blackberry storm!

Ever since I upgraded to the non-official Froyo, I've been experiencing problems trying to get the two to work together. If I'm on hte Pandora screen with the Nav running in background, the song will pause when directions are given (audio priority to Nav) and will not play again until I hit play (note that the song is actually paused in pandora and not just temporarily muted by the Android OS) If I'm on the Nav screen (with Pandora running in background) the song will stop playing when directions are given, and when I hit home to get back to Pandora, I find that it had been terminated completely and I have to restart it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am currently having some problems controlling the audio on my phone via bluetooth in my car.
When I press the button for the next track on Pandora, that would automatically activate the Android Music Player and play whatever I have stored on the SD card. Ultimately, what I have is 2 sources of music playing at the same time.
Only way to fix it is to get rid of the SD card. OR I can switch tracks using the phone itself.
I realize that this problem isn't limited to the Droid X. I've read about this happening on the Incredible as well.
Anyone know whether a patch (or Froyo can fix this)?
I've got a lot of stuff going on in the background at any given time with my phone. Apparently too much.While trying to listen to Pandora through my Blue Tooth speaker set, the music gets interrupted by very quick pauses. Of course, this usually happens at it's worst when I'm trying to show someone how well my Droid works, just like everything else on my phone.I use Advanced Task Killer, but things do pop back up. It doesn't help. Then I see stupid things like Tesla LED app refuses to be shut down in the background. (WTH?.)Do I need to partition my SD card with a "clean" ROM just to be able to use Pandora and other streaming media without interruption? Or am I missing something setting wise?Satellite was on, WiFi was on (right near a router), etc.

I have my Incredible paired with my Altima and can make calls via Bluetooth with no problem. My question is, how can I wirelessly stream music or Pandora from my phone to my car (Altima does not have an aux jack). I know my car is capable because I was able to do this with my old Blackberry (exactly how I don't remember, it was an intricate process of pressing random buttons).

I really like the performance I'm getting now that I'm rooted but Pandora is a must have for me - so if I can't get it fixed I'll have to go back to stock - BOO. Does anyone know of a ROM that gives the same audio quality as the stock 2.1 OS? Or does anyone know if I'm maybe just doing something wrong?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have some strange problem when using pandora connected to my car stereo via aux in. If I start it up, it plays perfectly. If a call comes in, it pauses and takes the call. then resumes just fine after the call. but if I manually pause the music and switch to another app. when I return to pandora and un-pause the music, it plays but sounds "garbled" like it is under water! I have to reboot the droid at this point to get it back to normal.

If I leave it open I can listen with no problem. But if I hit the home screen to use another app it immediately stops working. In my list of running services it says it's still running and it shows up in my task killer as a running app. Any thoughts?
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy brother in law turned me on to Pandora this past weekend. I knew about it and even poked around with it a few years ago, but never "got into" it. Having bailed on renewing my satellite radio subscription recently, I thought it time to check out Pandora. He taught me the ropes and we set up 2 channels to drive home with. Fire it up, worked fine. Turned on the Satellite Layer in maps to show him his neighborhood in a live GPS route - almost immediately Pandora crapped out on us. I presumed it was a bandwidth issue with loading satellite imagery as well as streaming audio. Had to kill the app and restart. On our way back home however, it died again - working fine, fired up another app - one that saves my track logs to a file for later examination. As soon as this app started, Pandora stopped. OK, Pandora needs a clear pallate, whatever, for now, we'll give it to her. Fired it up now a 3rd time - it ran like a champ - playing a new mix much better than what we used to get on XM Radio. Love it, wish I used it earlier. However, it stopped dead in its tracks right about 30 minutes after we started it. Had to go into App Manager and "kill" the Pandora app, then re-start it manually. It ran this 4th time for again, right about 30 minutes. Fired up again and thankfull we were only 20 mins from home, were able to listen to it into the garage.

Some seem to think in 2.1 Android's memory management is somehow messing with services that Pandora needs to run. Would installing it as a system app help in any way? I am running Cyanogen 5.0.5.7 if it matters at all.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a 2010 Mazda 3 w/ Bluetooth and an auxillary output--I have had no problems w/ the Bluetooth as far as receiving and making phone calls and I play my iPod thru the auxillary system all the time...I just got the Droid 2 weeks ago and downloaded Pandora this past weekend--I can't get it to play thru the Bluetooth (even though the little music symbol shows that it is paired) and I can't play it thru my Droid hooked up thru the auxillary system either.

Tried a bunch of different stations and same thing, with major lag and disconnects. I guess I found the answer, Froyo support TuneWiki does not work on FroYo (partly)
Anyone else having issues with another internet radio program?
I just made the switch from Moto Droid to Samsung fascinate and can't say that I'm all that happy with my decision, No froyo, horrible artifact and color hue, 3 hour charge times, a worse benchmark than my old phone. And on top of that it appears to have terrible reception! While using this phone in the same locations that I had zero problems on the droid, I can't stay connected to 3G to save my life. Youtube and Pandora are useless because I'm not able to keep connection long enough to stream. It has also caused the browser to time out pretty regularly.

With the DX, when I use this same button, it automatically brings up voice commands and is asking for a command while the music still plays in the background? Anyway to disable this so it just mutes or pauses? It appears that the settings for the voice commands are taking over and I don't know where to change them. I can not delete or uninstall the voice command settings since I use the voice to text.

I have done all updates for the apps, and still nothing.
With the hdmi cable is it possible to stream videos saved to the phone to a TV? Say i put a movie like Avatar on my phone, can i play it on the TV?

I was never able to on my X and thought it was because it did not have Froyo. I just updated my software to 2.3 or what ever Verizon's version is and the first thing I did was check out the site and try to stream a movie. It still says "This video can not be streamed to this device" am I missing something? I would love for this to work. Everything else is great after 2.2/2.3.

Whether it's around the house or on the go. 9 out of 10 places I'm usually at have highspeed wifi connections so I'm not too concerned about streaming over the 3G network; although it would be nice.
Basically, I want to set my PC up as a private media/file server that I can access from my rooted Droid X 2.2.....cheaply, free if possible.
I'm actually surprised that this device doesn't have streaming capabilities over local wifi networks. I can transfer files over from my home network and then play them but that requires a lot of wait time and uses a lot of space on the phone.
How to configure ftp and http servers with DNS if that helps. http would take a long time to code and can't be updated quickly so I'm hoping it can be done with an ftp server.
I was wondering if anyone has successfully streamed AVI's to their droid?
My history with streaming:
- Used Orblive on PC to stream media (Media Skin)
- Streamed to my omnia i910, played media with Coreplayer
Worked pretty good with that setup, streamed AVI's very well (which is practically 99% of my media library)
Now i have a moto droid(1) but im having trouble trying to find an easy setup to stream video media.
Have tried:
- VLC. The setup to stream media isnt very user friendly such as a web menu that you log into your PC and browse through your library (or atleast i havent found a good tutorial yet)
- GMOTE. Its easy. Install GMOTE (w/java) on the PC (if linux have VLC on the PC too) but on the droid... you cant stream AVI. I have tried installing VLC on my droid, opens the program but wont play video. I also have Rock Player but you cant make it the default media player, so thus it wont play the stream either (or atleast i havent found/read a way to do so)
- Orblive. Great web interface. Problems though is that orb only streams in WMV/.SDP/.3GP/.PLS/Flash. The droid can only do Flash (recently, as in... 2 days ago or so) or 3GP. Flash looks... well... to give it some credit... "decent" but isnt the best FPS IMO. The 3GP format looks like watching horrible pixelling crap, to say the least. Other formats wont even stream due to the media player.
I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Looking for stream software (either Win7 or Linux (ubuntu)) that will stream video files (AVI's) w/o having to convert them before streaming to the android phone. If possible... A Decent setup such as web interface thats easy to point/click navigate through the stream library (like GMOTE or Orblive)
Is this possible? I would like to just keep using Orblive but i cant change the default media player... and the only other media player i have found is Rock Player (and recently VLC on android)
Alpine ida-x303. When I plug the USB cable in the car stereo it will charge the Droid but it will not play radio apps. The unit says no USB found.
