View 4 RepliesIf anyone knows any good applications that can show multiple time zones in once glance. I'd like to know the current time for where I am as well as the time in my future destinations plus the current time back home.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMotoDroid 2.2. Since 2.2, the auto-rotate screen goes haywire from time to time. I normally use the vertical format, easier to type, but when it switches, not much screen left, and I have to go back and back to start over again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been an Incredible user since the day it came out, and on a scale of 1-10 of familiarity with the phone, i consider myself pretty close to a 10 i know the phone backwards and forwards. Here's the problem - I have an Exchange Activesync and GMAIL account set up on the phone.I tried sending a calendar invite to my GMAIL account this morning, and noticed that the time was showing up as being 1hr off. i.e - in my calendar the event showed at 8:00AM, but in the Gmail calendar entry request it showed 7:00AM.So i checked my time zone in Settings >> Date and Time. It's set to "automatic", yet the time zone is set to GMT -5:00, which is incorrect, since i'm smack-bam the middle of Texas, and am fairly sure i'm in the Central time zone, whereas -5:00 GMT is Eastern Time
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get a local time from a server UTC time. I get the UTC time form the server -- and i want to make it right for each individual Android phone whether it be in California or China. This is the code I am using now -- however it snot working. The time I get from the server is "2010-08-17 19:41:13.0" And the code I use to get the difference(in seconds) is the following: public static long getSecondsDifference(Timestamp timeStamp) { final Calendar calendar = Calendar. get Instance (Locale.getDefault()); int refrenceOffset = TimeZone. get Default (). getOffset(timeStamp.getTime()); final long referenceSeconds = (timeStamp. get Time() + refrenceOffset) / 1000; final long currentTimeSeconds = (calendar. getTimeIn Millis()) / 1000; final long differenceMinutes = (currentTimeSeconds - referenceSeconds) / 60; return differenceMinutes; The timestamp is from the java.sql.timestamp package.Right now the time where I am is 11:50AM -- and the method returns that the given server time is -53 minutes ago( so obviously doing something wrong

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been reading that when you first get your new phone you need to charge it but I was wondering can I use it while it charges or does the phone need to be off that first time.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHalf the time that I am using the phone doing normal things ex: writing a text, going to the market, opening up an app, etc. the phone will not respond to my touch. I have to lock my phone and then unlock it to get it to respond.
I personally don't think that is normal and if it is it should not be a normal thing someone has to deal with.
I notice that on random occasions,I'd have an extremely hard time unlocking my phone. When pulling the unlock bar on the lock screen (stock),there are times when my finger doesn't register.I'd do it for a few times until it finally works.Anyway,I had this problem with the Incredible when trying to unlock that screen (HTC EVO 4G and Droid Incredible suffering from unresponsive screen issues -- Engadget)

View 5 Replies View RelatedHave any of you found that it takes a really long time to charge the phone to 100% battery? Maybe i'm coming from a sidekick and it was short to charge fully but is this true for you guys too or am i just not used to needing this long to charge a phone up?

View 24 Replies View RelatedI use Outlook/Exchange as my primary contact database, so I only wanted to sync my DX with Exchange for contacts. However, before I was able to get to my Google account settings on the X to tell it not to sync Google contacts - it had already synced them. Now, my contacts are a mess because of the damn "linked profiles", so practically every contact has some trash from my unmanaged Google contacts. Old email addresses, dupes, mislabled phone numbers (work, home, etc.) It's ugly and frustrating, since I keep my Exchange contacts perfectly edited and managed.
My problem is that I can't figure out how to delete the Google contacts from my DX other than doing it one at a time. (Since I have over 1500 contacts, that would be a huge pain.) Is there any way I can purge these? I'm a power Gmail user, so I can't just delete the entire Google account. (Not sure that's possible anyway.)
Is there a way to change the time in Nexus 4? I dont want to change time zone, but I want to, say, keep the time 10 min faster.

View 6 Replies View Relatedi was wondering if there is any way to load resource (such as skins etc.) that include drawables and layout information during runtime. what i mean is that the user can download a file (probably a signed apk - would it work any other way?) and would be able to install it adding to an already existing application thus adding more resources to it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI created an activity by using a layout written in a XML file. I would like, in response to some events, to change the content of this activity. I would like to show a VideoView over the content. In response to some other event, I may want to go back to the first content. Would it be possible to switch the content of the activity this way without running another activity (I have another technical difficult in doing that)? I tried using setContentView( videoView), and then switching back with setContentView(T.layout.main), but it seems that, when going back to the main layout, all my buttons and text boxes are created again as they were new. Would it be possible to go back to the last state of all the controls?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there any good example to show how a single compiled application could support both english and say germany. The aapt approach and Resource R.java approach seems to me that, we may need to have one binary for english and one for germany etc and so on. View 13 Replies View RelatedI am having an EditText. If i specify image for the EditText in the layout XML file (android:back ground) it looks different and looks different when i specify it at runtime EditText et = (EditText)find ViewById (R.drawable .et1) ; et.setBackgroundDrawable (Main.themes.getDrawable (EDRAWABLES.EditText BackgroundImage )); Both codes point to the same image. When i specify the image at runtime , the EditText leaves a margin at the top and bottom of the cursor in the edittext which does not happen when i do it in XML. I have attached the screenshots of both images. Top image is the one drawn from XML and bottom one is given at runtime. I am not getting the difference ? Actually i am facing similar problems with other Widgets too if i change the logic of specifying the drawable at runtime and not at compile time.. Is this the default SDK behaviour? View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to change the time on my LG Optimus M (Metro PCS) to compensate for the day light saving. however I can't find from where should I do it, I don't see anything else other than the time and date format under Date and time settings. View 6 Replies View RelatedI don't mean 12/24 hr format. I mean HH:mm:ss format. I want my status bar clock to display something like 23:59:59, I want the "seconds counter" included. View 7 Replies View RelatedAll text messages that I receive are 6 hours ahead of the actual time on the phone. Does anyone know how to fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy calls to getFromLocationName() always fail the "first" time I start my app. I catch the IOException which has reason:
Unable to parse response from server
Then I make a second call and it succeeds. Once things are "awake" all future calls to getFromLocationName() succeed, it's just that first one, and there is a ton of latency.
I haven't run this on a device yet, just in the emulator. This seems like a network problem, but it is so reproducible I'm thinking I'm not initializing something properly. I'm using Android SDK 1.1.
I just got the magic yesterday and so far I'm loving it. Just have a couple questions about texting. When I receive a text it usually tells me the time in eastern time though I'm pacific. However, my sent messages come up with the right time. This makes it so that threaded sms is kind of useless. Everything is all out of whack. Also, every once in a while it just won't even give me a time and there has been once or twice(after fiddling with it for a bit) that it gave me the right time but it just went back to the wrong time right after. Could this be a problem with the phone or is it rogers' fault? I'm assuming it's getting the time from the network and they have it wrong(meaning I can't fix it) but I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem.
Also, is there any way to make it vibrate when I receive a text? I feel dumb for asking this as it seems like it should be something really obvious but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
I recently received an LG optimus f3 with android 4.1.2.
After activating the phone, it displayed the correct date and time for my time zone, so I didn't mess around with settings to reset the time, as I would with any other device.
However, I've noticed that the time changes to exactly an hour ahead, before changing itself back several minutes later.
I went to settings > date and time, but 24 hour time and selecting a date format are the only options listed.
I prefer to leave mobile data off when I am at home and can use the wi-fi. Is it necessary to have mobile data turned on, so the phone can receive the time from a cell tower, or is there a way I can set an internal clock?
When i'm connected to my router at home via wifi, the connection randomly drops from time to time. My laptop and TV is fine which are both running via the internet. The setting is set to stay connected always, even when the screen goes black.
Does anyone have a resolution for this? Perhaps static IP? if this is the answer, what should the settings be?
