I've had my Droid X since Tuesday and since then my phone has gotten faster everyday. Im talking about things such as scrolling through screens and the app drawer. Stuff like that. So if anyone is coming from a really snappy 2.2 Droid like myself give it time!

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo I know that there are a ton of roms out there and seems like more and more keep popping up everyday. Yesterday, I ran across this at AllDroid and I wasn't going to try it cause I thought the screenshots looked ugly...still do actually. You really have to put this on your phone to see how nice it looks.
Looks aside, this is a very fluid rom and the performance has been great for me (about 24 hours with it so far). WiFi Tethering is broken but like the title says, it's still a Beta. I was just so impressed with it that I had to check out what everyone was saying over here...and didn't see it posted...so here it is!
[ROM] Elegance v0.5 (2.1 ese53) -- Themed w/ JIT+SU+Wireless Tether+Motoroi Apps. Here is my main homescreen and lockscreen. Looks much better without the horrible, "un-elegant" looking clock they show in the screenshots over all AllDroid.
I saw a post recently, can't remember where any more, that said that ERE53 ROMs come by default w/the necessary versions of the files, and all that you needed to do was add the dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:jit line to build.prop and you had JIT enabled.
Is anyone sure whether this is correct or not?
So I've been reading around trying to figure out the whole ESE53 thing before I try it. The post on alldroid linked in the sticky says that it will wipe my phone and unroot it. A couple of questions arise from that. What exactly is wiped? And is the re-rooting process the same? Can I use DMupdater to root it again?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've been using ADW because I like the easy cookie cutter themes but I notice it lags sometimes when switching between screens and sometimes icons and widgets will disappear then reappear as the screens load. I tried the free version of Launcher Pro and as I was setting up the screens it felt like it was smoother. But that could have been because I didn't have anything on them yet. I know most people here use Launcher Pro - is it because it is faster or smoother? I can almost get away with using the free version but I need to be able to resize widgets.

I hate manually typing in letter by letter when using the phone in normal position. Use to be able to fly through text and not have to go horizontal to type. View 12 Replies View RelatedAnyone know how i can do it? I changed the notification bar using one of gl0be's update.zips to a desire themed bar, and i have a nandroid from about a week ago if the stock notification bar, but if i can i'd rather just do another update to the stock one.

I've seen an issue now on both Chevy's and Pete's ESE53 ROMs.
I play a video using the youtube player, and the video locks up, touchscreen and phone buttons non-responsive, and then the phone reboots.
I did a full wipe/reset and installed all apps from the market when I installed Pete's ROM, so it's not due to a messy setup...
Doesn't happen every time, but very frequently. Last night I played some or all of three videos, no issue. This morning tried one and my phone locked up/rebooted within the first five seconds of the video.

All credit for this animation release goes to Fab, I just made all the images about 20% smaller in file size (not dimensions).The best place in my opinion for boot animations is data/local. This allows you to keep your stock boot animation in place if you ever decide to delete this new one. The system looks here first anyway for the animation file, then in the system folder. Also if you flash a new rom, and don't wipe data, it should stay in place.

Long time Hotmail user. Live Mail works great on Windows mobile of course. I know I can set up the Eris to poll foor hotmail but I have a question.Will email run smoother if I just forward my hotmail account to my Gmail? And if I set up my gmail through the internet UI to "Reply As" my hotmail account, will it also set that as my reply as when I reply via my Eris?

I was at the verizon store yesterday comparing them even the htc incredible runs smoother as far as the interface goes. Will rooting make this better? I'm sure the EVO is capable even more than any of those two phones.

View 45 Replies View RelatedLauncherpro Plus seems to be laggy at times especially when pressing the home button while you're in a program e.g. Angry Birds. With touchwiz, this lag is completely gone, making the experience much better. With Launcherpro Plus, I'd have to wait a couple of seconds for the home screen to pop up. Is this just my phone, or is the lag a price you have to pay for an awesome launcher?

Im deodexed with a little bit of build.prop I got from someone on an XDA thread.I compared my phone to a coworker who has OTA. He was all stock. No apps even. And my phone loaded sites and the Market 3x faster than his.ive been skeptic about p3s 2.3.15 and especially the OTA esp since it upgrades the bootloader. So does TBH 2.3.15 upg the bootloader too??im more than satisfied with my leak. however, if anyone can justify why i should head over to either versions of the 2.3.15 ill do it. but otherwise im sticking with what i got.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just overclocked to 1.2 on cynagoen 5.062, I have overclock widget installed on my phone. Whenever I check it, the widget shows the phone is at 550, unless I manually move the slider to 1200. Does this mean my phone's not really running at 1.2, or am I misunderstanding how the overclock process works? Also, is there a way to do some sort of speed test? (I don't have set cpu and I can't buy apps at the moment) I do know when i move my slider to 1200 the web seems a lot faster, but whether thats real or placebo is beyond me.

View 7 Replies View RelatedOk, forgice my noobishness, but I am not sure if I have a problem or not. I have been reading a lot about how some people Droids open up apps spontaneously. I think that may be happening to me. They don't open up on the screen but lets say I kill all the running apps with taskiller or advanced task killer, and then I open up either task manager and bam, there is a whole bunch or crap running without me actually opening anything up.

I tried searching for JIT in this forum and got nothing. All droid didn't seem to help much more. It seems like there's really little to no documentation on how to get this running. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Also, I assume that it's still not too stable, so I should probably take a Nandroid backup first, right?

Why did Android design it that way? HOW to SHUT them off totally - that's the question. I have Skype, Wether, Contacts, Social app (Face book), Calendar, Sync Service, Google Messaging Service, and many more running ALL the time. And there are apps in my Tray, that are factory set, which I'll never use. How can I Delete them.
