Motorola Droid X :: Motorola Customer Service Contacts?
Oct 4, 2010
I have just had the WORST customer service experience EVER with Motorola. It started early last week, and is continuing through today. Suffices to say, the automated system is useless, the customer service reps are all in Argentina, and no one hears what you say. They only hear what they have been trained to hear, and can not think outside of their little scripts at all. If I hear " I really do apologize for the inconvenience, can you hold while I look that up" one more time, my head is going to explode.Does anyone have an email address for someone in Motorola Corporate that deals with the Consumer Electronics portion of the business? Preferably someone with a title of VP or such? I'd like to have a nice conversation with them.

Long time lurker. I have had an eris for awhile and numerous issues. I have sent 10 tweets and 4 emails to HTC and tried calling 5 times and keep getting disconnected. Someone picks up and then gone.

I'm starting a new thread on this one because I don't know where it's going to end. Here's a review of what's happened so far. My original post: "Round 1"--My 6 month old Droid quit yesterday. I went to a Verizon service center near me and they searched within 30 miles for a replacement. None to be found. They said they would have one sent to me from "the warehouse", and I'd have it in 48 hours. That's acceptable, especially considering the fact that I didn't have insurance on it. My contacts and calender will come over from my GMail account, but I'll have to load about 50 apps and I assume any special settings I'll have to re-do. If the "Factory like new rebuilt" isn't as close to new as possible, it will go back and back and back until I get one as mint as mine was. I'm thinking positive and will let you know how I make out. "Round 2"--O.K. so far so good. I got home last night and had the note on the door that Fedex didn't leave it (no signature). Drove to Fedex location (10-12) miles away and picked up "like new" phone. I was impressed with the physical appearance. It looked truly "like new''. Called to activate phone-no problem. Did my *228 to program-no problem. I make my test call and the problems start. With the volume all the way up I can barely here the voice. When I take the phone away from my ear the display goes dark.In order to see the display to end the call I need to slide open the keyboard. So, no volume and no display when calls end. On the pnone with 2 levels of tech support for 1 1/2 hours and no luck. Said they would send out another "like new' to me but with the holiday I wouldn't get it until Tuesday. After some discussion they agreed to send it overnight Saturday delivery to my office by noontime. Believe it or not I'm not upset. Things happen. They are doing all the right things to correct my problem. By the way, all my contacts, photos, and favorites came over as I'd hoped. However only 1/2 my apps came over. That may be because I didn't give them enough time to. I'll keep you posted. Stay tuned for Round 3.

i have to call customer support yet again, to get my fiance's droid replaced. Last time I called, the phone was not rooted. This time its running chevy'S ROM and kernel. Either way stock or modded this phone is just buggy.and there is something, wrong with the microphone. Can they tell ota that the phone is rooted? I'm going to return it to stock before I send it back to them, but don't want to do it till I know they are going to replace it.Last time they checked to see when the last tower update was, but I don't know if they were checking their info or my phone info.

I know there are threads about Sprint's terrible customer service, but this one is a little different and more specific to the Evo.

When I was on Sprint.com looking at accessories for the EVO I don't even own yet, a chatbox came up with this Customer Sevice Rep talking to me.So, I asked her when the Epic 4G was to be released, and she blatantly ignored me.I was hoping to bring better news, like, "I found the release date!", but alas,I cannot.

Did anybody over here get a replacement phone in the mail? I'm getting one for various issues plus the phone is completely dead right now.just wanted to know couple of things:How long did it take to arrive? What did u send back? phone & battery? or anything else..manual/box & etc. They said it might be here tomorrow or in 2-3 days...lol I guess I got really lucky also because they are all sold out everywhere & now sprint is sending to me directly & I didn't even have to leave my house. So far I'm liking Sprints customer service. But I feel really weird this is my first day without the EVO since June 4th.

I was interested in purchasing a shield for my droid incredible. will you be making these anytime soon? if so could you tell me when they will be for sale or notify me? contacting SGP customer service.
We are expecting it to be back in stock by end of this week, if not by early next week.
If you have any more questions, please feel free contact our customer service department again at sgpstore.com@gmail.com.
I got this reply from them but what confuses me is it says we will have them back in stock, i didn't know they ever had them in stock to begin with. must have been a typo.

I seem to be having a sync issue with my Droid. When I add a contact to my phone, it doesn't sync into "My contacts" in Gmail; it'll sync into "All contacts". So, a couple of questions:
1) How can I get the phone to add new contacts created on my Droid into "My contacts" in Gmail?
2) I'm trying to understand the point of "All contacts". Why does Gmail want to keep a list of anyone that I've ever sent an email to? Otherwise, it'll be simple enough to just merge the two groups and call it a day.(Note: When I bought my Droid I did NOT have the VZW sales person transfer my contacts or any data from my old Blackberry to my Droid. I used Google Sync on my BB and synced my contacts from my BB to Gmail, then when I got the Droid, it automatically pulled my contacts from Gmail.)(FWIW, yes, I did a search and found two great threads: http://androidforums.com/support-troubleshooting/15042-how-do-i-push-droid-contacts-back-gmails-my-contacts.html and http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/15069-contacts-dont-really-synchronize.html but I have a different situation than most of those guys and I'd actually prefer to sift through and merge a couple of contacts from "All contacts" to "My contacts" every once in a while than deal with a backup and factory reset.)

I got my DroidX on 7/15 and on 7/16 linked all my phone contacts who have facebook to a facebook contact via social networking. I kike how the phone sets the picture, I like that in the contact entry it shows me thier status on facebook. What I don't like is that when I open up a contac that is both a phone contact and a facebook contact and I tap the facebook icon on the contact screen I get 3 options (view profile, write on wall, and poke). If I open up a contact that is only facebook and tap that same Icon I get 4 options (view profile, message, write on wall, and poke). Is there some reason linking the facebook contact to a phone contact needs to remove that option? I'd like to be able to send a facebook message from the phone to any contact as easy as I can send a text message.

Just wondering if there is an app or a procedure to get your facebook contacts to automatically sync with your phones contacts as well as your google contacts. For instance if you add someone as a friend on facebook and they have their email and phone number filled out in their profile, that information would automatically be added to your phone. Is there a way to do that?

On my Droid there was a setting to only sync Facebook data for contacts who also were Google contacts. On the X, there doesn't seem to be that option anymore. I don't want all of my Facebook "friends" to show up in my contact list on my phone but I would like Facebook data to sync for my actual contacts in my Google contact list. Has anyone figured this out?

I see I can access contacts by clicking on phone icon on the main screen and also clicking on contacts in the programs list. The latter has more contacts than the one in the phone dialer program.

I use a Droid and Google contacts. I hate Google's contact interface - it crashes Internet Explorer half the time - so I want to edit my contacts on my Droid and have them get updated on Google contacts. I tried this, but when I sync, the google data overwrites what is on my Droid. I've lost a lot of changes already. I tried deleting the contact in Google thinking the Droid contact would then become dominant, but the contact just got deleted on my Droid. But when I add a new contact on the Droid, it does go to Google. So it seems that all the existing Google contacts only sync one way - from google down to the Droid. I must change this. I need updates to happen both ways or else I need to make changes only go up to Google from the Droid.

I have searched for an hour and a half with no luck. Is it possible to get your hotmail contacts to sync with the contacts on my droid? I am already not happy with the phones ability to get my mail from hotmail but will deal with that later. Has anyone else sync'd their hotmail contacts to the droid contact list. Sorry if I repeated this thread.

Have new Droid X, getting settled in and doing all the setup tasks. Migrating from Palm Treo. Exported all contacts by category(group) as CSV. Imported into Gmail, all was well. I then set up my ICE contacts and notes. Now my contacts are gone from the main contacts button on the home screen. I still have access to the contacts from inside the dialer, email and messaging apps, but when I press the contacts icon on the lower right of the home screen, I get
Contacts: Status
Contacts: Google (with the + mark to add a new contact)
No recent status updates. If I touch the 'Contacts: Google' button, I can choose between 'all contacts, Favorites, Google, Phone contacts', but all are blank.

I have contacts in my phone that Verizon brought over from my last phone (a regular phone phone... I carry a BB for work, have for years. I also have Google Contacts I spent hours getting in order in anticipation of getting this device. I can not, for the life of me, figure out how to back up the contacts now only on the droid to the cloud OR how to get the Google contacts information down to the phone. What I want to do is keep them in Sync and do the cleanup from a laptop/desktop one time, once the nasty merge happens.

I'm heading out to Haiti next week to volunteer with the earthquake relief effort. The NGO base where I'll be camping will have WiFi for a couple hours a day. I don't want to lug a laptop down there but want to stay connected to email. Do you know if there's any issue using WiFi without cell service?I don't have a desire to be using the cell phone service while I'm there; email will be enough.

I did a factory reset 2 weeks ago, because when I uninstalled launcher pro, my dx went black. reboots did not help. Since that factory reset, everything has appeared to be fine though. I just read the big read stickied warning, and figured I better ask about the potential issue.

Recently trying to send a text to my wife I got this error back as a text from myself: "Message Delivered to XXXXXXXXXX as plain text. Destination does not support enhanced messaging service."
I've never received this message before. A quick google search told me it was because the message was over 160 characters, but on my old phone it would automatically split the message up into multiple texts. I can't be sure if I've sent a text with 160+ characters n my droid before.

I'm extremely new at this, and I seem to have run into a problem that I cannot find a solution for from searching. To be honest, I registered this account to ask this question because right now I'm a bit frantic to get my Motorola Droid back working (Verizon service). This afternoon I attempted to root my phone, and everything seemed to be going according to plan. Right after my phone finished flashing the rooted 2.1 ROM, it rebooted and the original setup appeared on the screen.
I followed the instructions as it asked and tried to activate my phone. I pressed the little green android, and proceeded to call the Verizon number and I press 1 to activate my phone for service. Once the whole process was finished, it told me that my phone had finish being programed. When I pressed the "Next" button in the bottom right corner, I was taken back to the first setup screen which informed me that I need to activate again. Needless to say, I'm now stuck in an infinite loop of this and can't figure out what to do. I've left the phone with full bars for over an hour to try to get the service to activate with no luck. At this point, I just really want to be able to use my phone as a phone again!

My sister just got a brand new Droid about 4 days ago. I noticed when holding both droids next to each other that her Droid always has 1 extra bar of service than mine. I don't understand why?? Like she will have 4 3g bars and i will have just 3. Sometimes if she has 3G but none of the bars are lit, my droid is on 1X. We live in a rural area and 3G coverage is spotty but it works pretty well most of the time. I just don't get why her droid would be getting better reception than mine? My phone does have root installed, but no custom rom or anything. Just a couple mods to the video recording quality and auto hi quality youtube videos. also tried to load the same website on both droids and hers went pretty fast. mine was stuck on 1X.
