Using "adb logcat" I got the stack trace given below, suggesting a security restriction. Is this fixable?

I have not been able to find the answer to this searching the web so i thought i'd come here. Just got a new droid in the mail and i'm trying to manually punch in my contacts. It says they are saving but I am unable to locate the entry when i go to contacts. Would the contact be saved to a separate account?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOk i have not been able to find any answers what so ever regarding the people that can not find the backup/restore option after entering the recovery mode. I have recently rooted using the new z4root application. I get a skull and crossbones supper user app, and was wondering if that means its different than the one with the ninja icon that everyone else gets.
Anyways, When i go to make a nandroid back up, i follow the steps to the letter, but when i get to the recovery menu, my options stop after the wipe baseband data option. there is absolutely nothing else there that says anything about backup/restore option everyone seems to be screaming about. Its not there!
Now please can someone figure out a solution to this problem?
My recovery looks like as follows: Android system recovery <3e>
Use d-pad to highlight: center to select.
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
wipe baseband data
I'm having crappy reception (like most people) with -100db reception so I was wondering if I might try hybrid prl to see if that helps. Can I make the change to hybrid or do I have call or go to a vzw store?
Also, how do I access the Inc's service menu?
Manually enter contact info? For starters, here are two things I'd sure like to see -
...Automatically enter dashes in phone numbers (after third and sixth digit)
...Change default layout for entering phone info (start with home phone, then work, then cell)
Is it still possible to make your password part of the voicemail speed-dial #, so you don't have to dial the password every time? I can't seem to find that option since the OTA.
View 6 Replies View Relatedyou know the menu that you drag up to see all your apps? Well it still looks Old Style...It dosnt look like when I had the N1 where the menu looks like a 3D cube, whats going on? In Videos ive seen on 2.1 on the milestone it looks like the N1, I updated through the Moto site, did I do something wrong? Also in the settings I have 2.1 update-1.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've figured out how to put folders on the desktop and arrange things there.I'm wondering if it is possible to put folders in the apps menu and clean it up a bit.It would allow me to group like apps and not have to scroll through so many icons.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi have problems with my recovery menu options. running clockwork mod & i only have the following 4 options in my recovery menu.
1-reboot system now
2-apply sd card: update zip
3-wipe data factory reset
4-wipe cache partition
underneath is the message
e: can't open /cache/recovery/command. without a restore option, i cannot change mod's or kernels--or if i can, i don't know how. i've tried to flash sprecovery from rom manger, but the menu options do not change. any ideas how i can solve this issue?
If you press the Menu button when the phone is in the Motorola Car Dock, a 'Dock Settings' menu pops up leading to an 'Audio' menu. However, the Audio menu doesn't seem to respond or alter anything.Any ideas what this menu is for, or what it's supposed to access? I've tried it with the headphone jack plugged into the car audio, with Bluetooth connected, with music playing, on a phone call, etc. etc. etc., and nothing else comes up.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add a widget and I followed directions to go to Menu > Add, only add isn't selectable. It's there, but "greyed out" ... not sure why or how.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe "Menu", "Back" and "Search" buttons are not working for some reason? The "Home" button is the only one that works. I'm talking about the hard buttons on the bottom of the phone. This started today. Tried removing the battery and restarting the phone and that didn't seem to work either. Now Droid X not booting at all. Just stays on the "M" and nothing happens. Tried the Power button with home key press to get to recovery and nothing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI cant find the settings menu for Helix. I have gone though my apps list, installed programs, search function and the whole settings menu. I even went into the market and tried to open it through there... Where is it at?
It is definitely still on my phone as it is still in use and the market says "installed".
Can someone tell me what the 'MIN' value is on the Droid X under the Menu -> Settings -> About -> Status? It appears to be a phone number but it isn't mine.
This is just under the 'My Phone Number' field (which does have the correct phone number) and just above the MEID.
Is there any way to make the settings menu icons display in color like on the incredible? Seems a shame to have a HD display but all the options are in black and white.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter using Rom Manager to boot into recovery, what buttons do I press to access the menus? On the Droid X you press the search button. What's the magic button or combo for Droid? I'm trying to clear the cache...

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a few ringtones and notifications that I'm trying to put on the memory of my phone, and not my SD card. I used Root Explorer to move them to system/media/audio/ folder dropping them seperately in "ringtones" and "notifications." After that isn't the file suppose to appear within the menu where I'm trying to apply them either as ringtones or notifications? I don't seem them appearing. The reason for me doing this is sometimes my phone doesn't play the ringtone assigned to a person because the clock rating on the CPU is low, so it doesn't pick up from my SD Card fast enough.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen I long press on my homescreen to add a widget (say Pandora's widget) I have to scroll through a TON of crap. 5 different beautiful widget options, 7 calendar pad pro options, 6 contact widget options, 6 folder organizer widget options, etc. Most of those I know I will NEVER EVER use. How can I remove them from my "choose widget". My phone is rooted, and one app I used, pure calendar, gave me the option of which "choose widget" menu options to show. So I know it exists somewhere.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSomehow when I select icons and menu items now, it's bright red.I'm pretty sure it wasn't there before.Where can I change that back? What was the default color?Even if someone doesn't know the answer, can someone at least select any icon on one of their home screens and tell me what color the background turns.Argh, there's got to be a way to change it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe first one I'm looking for is how to customize the notification bar and menu once the phone is rooted. The second is a tutorial on how to replace the recovery console on the to nandroid etc. Which recovery console is the best?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just demo'd the Droid X in store today. One thing that annoyed me was having to double tap on things like menu items, when I wasn't used to having to double tap those before. Here is what I'm talking about (take a look as he double taps the "More" icon at 3:34 in the video):

I looked for a plain black wallpaper for the X in the menu system. Doesn't seem to exist.
Resorted to taking a photo with the lens completely covered. And then chose that for my background. Is there a better way?
So I attempted to hack my droid to wifi tether but I ended up getting stuck at one step. I decided to give up so I want to restore my droid to factory settings, but when I rebooted my phone into recovery mode and factory reset, there is a superuser app in the app menu. I think it's factory restoring to a custom image. Is there a way to restore it the way I got it when I walked out of the Verizon store?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm developing a game for android, and texture problem has been reported on Motorola Droid phones. (Missing/white background in the menu and during the game).
I've tried to fix this with changing the texture sizes to power of 2 (I used jpeg images as backgrounds, and they wasn't power of 2, however this worked fine on all my test devices).
I have just had the WORST customer service experience EVER with Motorola. It started early last week, and is continuing through today. Suffices to say, the automated system is useless, the customer service reps are all in Argentina, and no one hears what you say. They only hear what they have been trained to hear, and can not think outside of their little scripts at all. If I hear " I really do apologize for the inconvenience, can you hold while I look that up" one more time, my head is going to explode.Does anyone have an email address for someone in Motorola Corporate that deals with the Consumer Electronics portion of the business? Preferably someone with a title of VP or such? I'd like to have a nice conversation with them.
