Long time lurker. I have had an eris for awhile and numerous issues. I have sent 10 tweets and 4 emails to HTC and tried calling 5 times and keep getting disconnected. Someone picks up and then gone.

I'm getting one for various issues plus the phone is completely dead right now.just wanted to know couple of things:How long did it take to arrive?What did u send back? phone & battery? or anything else..manual/box & etc.They said it might be here tomorrow or in 2-3 days...lol I guess I got really lucky also because they are all sold out everywhere & now sprint is sending to me directly & I didn't even have to leave my house.So far I'm liking Sprints customer service. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just had the WORST customer service experience EVER with Motorola. It started early last week, and is continuing through today. Suffices to say, the automated system is useless, the customer service reps are all in Argentina, and no one hears what you say. They only hear what they have been trained to hear, and can not think outside of their little scripts at all. If I hear " I really do apologize for the inconvenience, can you hold while I look that up" one more time, my head is going to explode.Does anyone have an email address for someone in Motorola Corporate that deals with the Consumer Electronics portion of the business? Preferably someone with a title of VP or such? I'd like to have a nice conversation with them.

I got this reply from them but what confuses me is it says we will have them back in stock, i didn't know they ever had them in stock to begin with. must have been a typo.

Anyone else have horrible service with this setup? I thought a new radio was supposed to give better service? Im running Skyraider 3.0 Vanilla, with a 2.15 radio and a 2.6.32 kernel. Anyone know a fix or anything?

I'm starting to think its just the Eris because I've had other phones with Verizon and have had very good coverage with them.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI (like hundreds of others) have had a call quality problem with the two Droid Incredibles I purchased for my wife and myself when they were released on April 30th. Verizon recognized that there was a problem and replaced both devices with ones manufactured about a month later (5/02) and the same issue with poor voice quality continued.
We love the device EXCEPT for the lack of ability to understand callers. So, I asked Verizon to extend our 30-day opt out to give them an opportunity to work out the issues with this device. I just received a call from Verizon customer service (which I could barely understand) and was told they would not extend the 30 day period and my option was to live with the poor sound quality or switch to another device. Verizon has no other devices that were interested in at this time so well be canceling these two lines (and one other) and returning to T-Mobile. T-Mobile may not have the best coverage, but they do have great customer service, unlike Verizon.
I'm starting a new thread on this one because I don't know where it's going to end. Here's a review of what's happened so far. My original post: "Round 1"--My 6 month old Droid quit yesterday. I went to a Verizon service center near me and they searched within 30 miles for a replacement. None to be found. They said they would have one sent to me from "the warehouse", and I'd have it in 48 hours. That's acceptable, especially considering the fact that I didn't have insurance on it. My contacts and calender will come over from my GMail account, but I'll have to load about 50 apps and I assume any special settings I'll have to re-do. If the "Factory like new rebuilt" isn't as close to new as possible, it will go back and back and back until I get one as mint as mine was. I'm thinking positive and will let you know how I make out. "Round 2"--O.K. so far so good. I got home last night and had the note on the door that Fedex didn't leave it (no signature). Drove to Fedex location (10-12) miles away and picked up "like new" phone. I was impressed with the physical appearance. It looked truly "like new''. Called to activate phone-no problem. Did my *228 to program-no problem. I make my test call and the problems start. With the volume all the way up I can barely here the voice. When I take the phone away from my ear the display goes dark.In order to see the display to end the call I need to slide open the keyboard. So, no volume and no display when calls end. On the pnone with 2 levels of tech support for 1 1/2 hours and no luck. Said they would send out another "like new' to me but with the holiday I wouldn't get it until Tuesday. After some discussion they agreed to send it overnight Saturday delivery to my office by noontime. Believe it or not I'm not upset. Things happen. They are doing all the right things to correct my problem. By the way, all my contacts,photos,and favorites came over as I'd hoped. However only 1/2 my apps came over. That may be because I didn't give them enough time to. I'll keep you posted. Stay tuned for Round 3.
View 10 Replies View Relatedi have to call customer support yet again, to get my fiance's droid replaced. Last time I called, the phone was not rooted. This time its running chevy'S ROM and kernel. Either way stock or modded this phone is just buggy.and there is something, wrong with the microphone. Can they tell ota that the phone is rooted? I'm going to return it to stock before I send it back to them, but don't want to do it till I know they are going to replace it.Last time they checked to see when the last tower update was, but I don't know if they were checking their info or my phone info.

I have added contact photos to my contacts using existing photos on the SD card. they are high resolution photos that look great on the phone screen even zoomed way in. When I use these same photos for a contact, and then that contact calls, the photo pops up showing they are calling, but the photo looks terrible.
I also see the terrible looking contact photos on LPP's People Widget.
Anyone know what is causing this? Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone have great looking contacts photos show up when calls come in? I have a feeling this is happening when I add photos to contacts...not with photos that are coming through via contacts on facebook or google...not sure? Any ideas?
So the other day I went to the camera to take a pic (keep in my I don't really take pictures often) and the camera is all blurry. I don't really get it. Nothing like this has ever happened before and the screen over the camera is definitely clean. I'm sort of pissed off because the nearest Verizon retailer is probably 25 miles away and I don't want to drive that far for a damn camera problem. Any suggestions? I'm new to these forums so if I can figure out how to get a pic up I will do that.

View 35 Replies View RelatedI'm speaking as a formal HTC user, Had the HTC Eris for over 6 months, before that, the palm Pre.... and being around my mother with her HTC Hero (cdma) her phone ringing all day long it was impossible to ignore that thing, dang loud and clear.
My previous phones both had VERY loud and rich speakers on them (the speaker the ringer/music/sound affects come out of), even in some noisy environments it was impossible to miss a call when I had service, just the week that I've had the droid X, I've missed several calls either from not noticing the vibrator in looser pockets or its just too dang quiet.
Speaker placement is bad too, sitting the phone on a slighty soft surface like a chair can muffle the speaker to nearly impossible to hear 6 feet away.
I'm hoping the droid X doesnt have a hardware deficiency and that this can be fixed through software... My best buddy has the droid x also, his is just the same, very quiet vs my old Eris put side to side.
Ok, now I've had time to listen to music on the Droid X and I ain't liking it. I'm comparing it to the iphone and it's so weak in comparison. Is it just me or do others feel the same way?

Basically I'm wondering if the Eris could be used by my son as a sort of Android based iPod Touch.
For the past two days, I've had no service. I was using xtrROM4 when it first started. So I went back to EvilEris and it worked for a little while, then yesterday stopped working again. So I re-flashed xtrROM4 and it worked all night and this morning. Now it's gone again. Can't make a call, send a text, get online, nothing.
I'm at work, and I never had the 'best' signal, but I'd go by a window and be fine. Now nothing, no matter where I go.
So 2 weeks ago, i updated my droid to Froyo/2.2 and my reception has went in the toilet. I can't even talk in my house anymore... I didn't do an OTA update, i followed a website that was for VZW which is my carrier and said it was the same update. No custom roms or any custom software....
View 9 Replies View RelatedI use Slacker and Pandora every day in my car on the ride to and from work, via bluetooth.Every Froyo rom I've tried (CM 6 alpha, the straight FRF57, FRF84, etc) sounds terrible.Its like the highs and lows are WAY overboosted and distorted.Because this has been common to every rom I've tried to date, and it is always fixed by reverting to my rooted 2.1, I usually do that.But I'm tired of missing out on flash and chrome-to-phone. Is there a sound fix?

Because of this I decided to do a factory reset at the suggestion of some users with the same problem and now that I have done one I no longer have service. I was able to download stuff from the marketplace, but no calls or texts. Whenever I make a phone call it says "welcome to verizon wireless, your service has been temporarily disconnected, please call your customer service representative." I have done *228 to reprogram and activate, I have done it to update roaming, and I pushed 3 and activated the phone again but said it was already active.

Verizon phone....like the Eris. And the reviews seem to be pretty positive.Anyone have any experience with Page Plus?cause their plans are cheap....much cheaper than Verizon.

I mean come on! We can't save pictures, can't batch delete, hell we can't even click most links! Maybe I'm venting a little, but It's kind of embarassing when your a company's web apps work better than their natively installed apps that come pre-installed on a phone whose OS you developed!
