i put a season of dexter onto my sd card and i realized that i have no idea how to play them. is there a specific folder i need to move them to? and what aps do i need to play them?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo with the last few ROMs I've had installed, I've tried moving apps to the sdcard. I figured it would be a good thing, even if I wasn't running out of room. Every time I move more than just a few apps to the sdcard, my whole phone starts getting laggy. I just moved all of my apps back to phone and the "lagginess" is gone. I currently have UD8.0 installed, but it has behaved this way with LFY and Pete's BB ROMs as well. So it doesn't seem to be a ROM related.

My Rhapsody Application on the Droid will only see Mp3's on the SD card that I have purchased and downloaded with the phone.
Any Mp3's that I manually transferred from the desktop pc to the Droid Music folder will not be seen by the Droid Rhapsody application (Even though I downloaded the Mp3's with Rhapsody on my desktop pc).
I did a dumb thing. First, I installed Angry Birds (this was not the dumb thing, by the way, unless you count how much of my life it has consumed) and then moved the app to the SD card.The dumb thing was that a while later I was charging my phone via my computer (and I was in Disk Drive mode) and I went to play the game. Well, the icon was wrong and the game wouldn't play, so I panicked thinking that I might have lost all my progress. I went out to the market and re-downloaded the game. Whew! All my progress was still there.Later the whole you-just-couldn't-access-your-SD-card-at-the-moment-you-idiot thing sank in and I realized I had the app on both the card and in phone storage. So I went into Applications and tried to move it to the SD card, but I got an error (presumably because it's already there). So now it's taking up room in phone storage and I don't want it to. I'm afraid if I uninstall the app completely that I really will lose my progress. Any suggestions?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently changed the storage location on my Incredible's camera from Phone Storage to Storage Card (i.e., my SD card). Yesterday I decided to move the previsouly taken photos "IMAG*.jpg" from the phone storage to the SD card and used the Astro app to perform this move. I made the mistake of using "move" rather than "copy-paste". Something went wrong and somehow none of the "imag*.jpg" that were previously on my phone's internal storage are neither there nor on the SD card.
Where could these files have disappeared to? Is there a "Trash" folder in Android like in Windows where these jpg files could be still hidden? Anyway to recover them? Using the search feature on Astro didn't reveal any of the newly disappeared jpg files.
Here's what I did using the Astro app:
step 1: navigated to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA
step 2: clicked on multi and selected all the jpg files there (about 15 or so), i.e., all file names turned orange.
step 3: clicked on Edit, selected Move.
step 4: navigated to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA which already had a few images that I had taken since changing the default storage location in my camera.
step 5: clicked on EDIT, selected Paste.
That's when I got a message saying "unable to move" or some such error - I don't recall the exact words and I had to click ok only for the same error to appear again some 15 more times. I guess it appeared once per image.
I went back to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA (the phone storage location) and to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA (SD card location) but the files aren't there in either location. Please note that I'm a noob to Android having only used Windows Mobile OS phones in the past. I appreciate any help and insight in this matter so that I don't loose files more important than some randomly taken pics.
I'm having problems trying to use files after moving them.
Example:
I took a bunch of pictures at an event, the created a folder for that event and moved the pictures into it. I can still open the pictures one at a tiem by navigsting too them, but the galleary app still shows the thumbs, but cannot find them.
Example 2:
I downloaded an mp3 for a ring tone, and while in the downloads folder the music player found it and I was able to set it at a ring tone. But I tried to create a ringtones folder, and then music could not find it, and just playing it by opening the file would not allow me to set a ring tone.
So how does this work? I have seen references here to folders called Media and ring tones, but I see nothing like that in the file system on my phone. Where does one put music if they want to actually use the music player?
Is the DCIM folder the ONLY one that works with the photo gallery? Is the Downloads folder the ONLY one that works with the music player?
So how do you make them not visible, cause the two pages of moved in the Droid section is annoying.

Also, can anyone tell me the difference between voice search and voice dialer? It seems like when I use voice dialer, I say "Call Home" and a list of options pops up of who to call (one choice being Home) (When I wish it would have just automatically called Home), but if I use voice search it automatically does call Home.

View 13 Replies View RelatedComing from a Iphone to the X the music player is a little lacking. Often I will go into a certain artist and want to play all the songs by that artist, or thumb through all their songs to find a certain one. On the stock music player on the X this seems hard to do (maybe I'm missing something).
if I pull up the music by artist and select a certain artist then it shows me all their albums (The iphone has the option at this point to select all albums and see all the songs of that artist in alphabetical order). The X doesn't give a option to select all albums at this point. If I go to artists and long press on a certain artist I can select play and it will start playing all that artists songs, then I can hit pause and go into the list from that point to see all the songs but they seem to be in a random order making it hard to find a specific song.
I've tried a couple other players and haven't been able to find one that functions like the Iphone, makes it hard to quickly find one song.
today I put my sd card into my sd card reader to throw some photos on to my computer. After I was done i put the sd card back into my droid and booted it up. After booting I get a notification saying my SD card is blank, so I turn off the phone and pull the battery out. When I grabbed my SD card it burnt my hand "literally" it was that hot... Wtf?!?! I put the SD card back in the reader and the computer doesnt even see the card. Idk if anyone has heard of a similar problem b4 and knows a fix...Thanks in advance! Side Note; I work at a cell phone repair store, so I put the sd card in two other blackberry's and they say "your sd card needs to be formated or it is corrupt". I put other sd cards into my phone and i have no problems.

I try to scroll over it moves back I press the home button and it does the same thing. I've tried powering down taking the battery put nothing seem to work.

He claims that whenever he call a contact, the actual contact is no longer available in the contact list but is instead moved over to the recent calls list. I told him that I believe that the recent call list only shows recent call and that the contact should to be found in proper order on the Contact list. Having no actual experience with this phone, I'm just looking for clarification. Does a recently called contact have to be found in the recent call list? If not, what may my customer be confused by? Is there a free application to make this any easier for him?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have "The Hangover" sitting on my computer. I converted it to .MP4 using handbrake, and it plays back just fine on my computer. However, when I put it on my phone, I hear the audio, and the player is playing (it shows the correct movie length and lets me jump from part to part of the video) but all I see is a BLACK SCREEN! Does anyone know what might cause this? I used the "Regular - Normal"" preset on the right side in Handbrake (my first time using it). Size is 672x272, Anamorphic is "Strict", Cropping is "Automatic", video filters are all OFF, Video Codec is H.264(x264), Framerate is same as source, and I chose constant quality 60.78% RF:20.Anyone have any idea what's going on? I just ordered an HDMI cable online so I really want to get this working.
View 19 Replies View RelatedBefore all these new updates or w/e I was able to stream videos on my Evo 4g off of Crunchyroll.com in SD, but now when I go to stream the videos the video works ok, but the sound is really really weird, it sounds like slowmo audio like a deep slow manly voice when it's supposed to be a girl talking etc. Does anyone know about this issue or how to fix it? It works ok in 480p but that takes a lot longer to load usually, so I'd rather use SD like I had been for a while now.
