When I plug my fascinate into my comp, the memory card wont show up under devices with removable storage?What am I doing wrong? I want to be ably to put all my divx vids on it!

View 2 Replies View RelatedLemme start by saying I was finally able to figure out how to sync my fascinate with the music on my computer. It took a while but I did eventually figure it out.But now I'm having a very strange problem. I'm unable to mount the phone when I connect it to my computer.The problem is whenever I plug the phone into the computer the phone doesn't recognize a USB connection.So I can't go in and tell it to mount. The weird part is that if I just plug the phone into the wall to charge that's when I get the USB notification that I've connected to a USB.Somewhere my phone has mixed the two inputs up.

If not, is there any 3rd party music player that allows sorting by filename and sounds as good (or better) than the default Music Player?
View 2 Replies View RelatedTransfer music files from your PC to your Verizon Samsung Fascinate smartphone.
Note: You may have to enable Mass Storage to complete these steps.
1. Connect the Fascinate to your computer with the included USB cable.
2. Slide down the notification panel at the top of the screen.
3. Tap USB connected.
4. Tap Mount.
5. On the computer, open the drive that represents your device. It should be in My Computer/Computer for
Windows users or the Finder for Mac users.
6. Make a folder named Music (not required but recommended for organizational purposes.)
7. Copy the music files over to the Music folder. Supported formats are:
AAC
AAC+
AMR-NB
AMR-WB
EVRC
MIDI
MP3
QCELP
SP-MIDI
WAV
WMA
8. After copying music, swipe the Notification panel down, tap USB storage, then tap Unmount.
Now you're ready to enjoy your copied music files right on your Samsung Fascinate.
When I try to close out of my music player, the only way to fully shut it off is to go into the task manager and close it out there. Does anyone know of another way to do this?

I know my BBerry would advance songs by holding the "up" volume toggle for a few seconds but that doesnt seem to work. There has got to be a way that doesnt involve me unlocking my phone each time i dislike the song!

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone is not recognizing my sd card. It is mounted in the phone but none of my pictures show up in my gallery. It says no sd card detected when I open the gallery. Also I can take pics but they do not save to the sd card our anywhere that I can find. I tried unmounting the cars but it stol does not recognize it. However, it does show my music like the card is mounted. It just seems to be a problem with the gallery.

I'm trying to mount my SD card on my MacBook Pro with the stock USB cable. I had a Moto Droid before my Fascinate, and I knew what to do there � turn on USB debugging, then drag down the status overlay and tell it to mount. Voila, drive appears on desktop. Here, though, I can't get that to work. I have debugging turned on, I've told the phone to mount the card over USB, but my Mac doesn't see it. This is a stock Fascinate, about two weeks old and not rooted. I', I've tried both USB ports on my computer, and that hasn't made any difference.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy music has ID3 version 2.3 tags (most common). About 10% (2,500) of my music is AAC (.m4a) format which is MP4 tagged. All my songs are very organized into 11 different genres. Everything has a title, artist, and album assigned to it and looks great in my iPhone, iTunes, MediaMonkey, and Mp3tag program. When I add my music to my Samsung Fascinate, it reads the tags of my .m4a music but when I go to genre, things are messy. It appears to be putting albums in the genre section (only with .m4a files). Example: Lets say I have an .m4a of Garth Brooks, Thunder Rolls, No Fences (album), Country (genre)In my Samsung Fascinate player, it will be found in the genre section under "No Fences". If I click "Country" genre where it should be, the song will not be listed there. It seems to be reading .m4a Album tags as genre and not reading the appropriate tag "Country".I hope someone can help straighten this out without having either manually edit each song tag OR convert all of them to .mp3 and deplete the song quality.

I tried to email myself a ring tone on my Fascinate and it comes through, gives you the option to preview it, but no option to save it to the sd card. Does anyone know how to do this? I ask because I have friends that swap ring tones around and it is now impossible to do this for me.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe SD card on my samsung fascinate worked fined until I tried to save a sound from a mms. Then my fascinate starting slowing down... until i removed the sd card. Then the phone ran fine.The problem I have is that I tried to format the sd card both by phone, and by computer. However the phone would freeze up if I insert the card, and my computer is unable to format the card. I tried going to controlpanel//administrative tools/computer management -> disk management, but it was unable to format the card.I even tried downloading something called an "sd formatter" however it appears as though my card is "not supported". Does anyone have a solution on how to return it back to normal? It appears as though normal formatting methods are not working.The card came with the fascinate 16gb, class 2 if that helps at all.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if this is a common verizon thing or a phone thing.Every time the verizon signal is lost or detected my music pauses for a split second. this becomes very annoying while commuting to and from work everyday underground where the signal is lost and gained about 17 times due to the depth of the subway. how can i fix this? this is not an email sync issue but a carrier signal detection issue.

To add music to my moment i usually take out the SD card put it in the adapter and and drag music into the music folder from my laptop once the SD card in in plugged in. The last time i did this, i put the SD card back into my phone after just adding music to it and my music library was empty. i plugged the SD card back into the computer and the music folder is missing. i tryed to add all the songs back into the phone but the computer tells me the SD card is too full. Ive checked the entire SD card to make sure i didn't just accidentally drag and drop the music folder somewhere else but theres been no luck. any suggestions?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I plugged my new Captivate into my PC (Windows 7 64-bit) and the Captivate says it's connected, but the PC shows no signs of it being connected. I called SAmsung support, and from what I could understand of what the "tech" told me, this is a bug, and there's no way for a PC to recognize the Captivate unless there's a memory card installed. is this correct? Once a 16GB memory card is installed, do you have 64-GB of storage space you can use for music, etc?
This seems like a mammoth problem - do they have any timeframe for a fix for this? Or is the "tech" incorrect? I can't believe I just bought a brand new "Smartphone" to replace my old mobile phone and MP3 player, and I can't copy files to it. Help!
Should Samsung Kies be selected as the USB setting? That's the default.
Do you have to put music on the micro SD card or can you put it directly on the phone? Also, if I want to change to a custom ringtone, does that have to be stored on my micro SD card?
