Motorola Droid X :: Why Camera Button Is Tiggering Volume And Not Camera?
Aug 19, 2010I cant figure out why my camera button is tiggering the volume and not the camera. Every time I press it to use my camera it keeps lowering my ringer volume and when im in the camera mode(from app) it wont snap any pics, it just takes me back to my main page and lower the volume. Can anyone help me out?

Jul 17, 2010So I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button.
My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.

Android :: Why Is Animation Leaving A Trail?
Jun 18, 2009I'm animating a an ImageView from the right to the left of the screen using a translate animation. The ImageView is place inside a RelativeLayout over the top of my main layout using FrameLayout. When I run the animation on the emulator everything works pretty well but when I use run it on my G1 it leaves visual artifacts behind and effects the rendering of the text component behind it. Is this a performance issue and I'm being too ambitious or is it a bug I can overcome? If it is a performance issue is there anything I can do to improve things?

The app should be much less than the whole garmin device, right? The reason I won't purchase the basic $99 handheld device is they only provide room for 5 character names and I just can't provide enough waypoint info. but nav apps seem to offer more room for details.

Sep 9, 2010I don't know if this is an Android in general or Desire specific problem but I imagine all the sharpest minds have HTC Desires anyway so here goes:How do you get rid of the trail of previously visited sites that you step back though in the browser when you press the phone's back button? After clearing the history these pages persist and it seems the only way to lose them is to step back though each of them with the back button until you reach your home page when the next press finally 'closes' the browser. It's very annoying, especially if any of the pages you've visited have POST data or redirects.

Jul 17, 2010I have "The Hangover" sitting on my computer. I converted it to .MP4 using handbrake, and it plays back just fine on my computer. However, when I put it on my phone, I hear the audio, and the player is playing (it shows the correct movie length and lets me jump from part to part of the video) but all I see is a BLACK SCREEN! Does anyone know what might cause this? I used the "Regular - Normal"" preset on the right side in Handbrake (my first time using it). Size is 672x272, Anamorphic is "Strict", Cropping is "Automatic", video filters are all OFF, Video Codec is H.264(x264), Framerate is same as source, and I chose constant quality 60.78% RF:20.Anyone have any idea what's going on? I just ordered an HDMI cable online so I really want to get this working.

Oct 6, 2010Before all these new updates or w/e I was able to stream videos on my Evo 4g off of Crunchyroll.com in SD, but now when I go to stream the videos the video works ok, but the sound is really really weird, it sounds like slowmo audio like a deep slow manly voice when it's supposed to be a girl talking etc. Does anyone know about this issue or how to fix it? It works ok in 480p but that takes a lot longer to load usually, so I'd rather use SD like I had been for a while now.

Oct 7, 2010Ok I just tried to watch a video on HQ while having several bars of service but when I click the HQ button in the youtube app it just resets the video and never has HQ highlighted in red... anyone else having this issue? I already power cycled my Evo too. Spoke to a co-worked who has the Captivate and HQ is working for him fine.

Oct 16, 2010My Incred is on an infinite loop on all the startup screens. Just keeps saying droid and then the HTC brilliant screen and such over and over. This is the 2nd time it happened to me. First was replaced at no cost to me though some inconvenience. Problem is I have some pics/vids on the phone memory that I would like to grab before returning the phone again. Can anybody think of a way I could accomplish this? Would a verizon tech be any help? Just a few vids of my son that I would prefer to keep. Nothing life changing. I plugged the phone into the computer and looked for the drives on 'my computer'. They were listed but empty. I guess the phone keeps rebooting before they can be populated with stuff. Any shot of me getting a DX in replacement? Love my Dinc but have screen (size) envy.

Oct 20, 2010My camera is stuck in the Negative Mode setting. I can't swipe from the left to pull out the camera options and the menu softkey doesn't bring up anything either.
I didn't notice this till about after a week or so using LFYv1.71. However, it seems that I am the only one using that ROM that's experienced this prob. Truth is, it could have been like that a while. I have a great 15mp camera, so I rarely need to use the mediocre-at-best 5mp camera on the Droid. But when I wanted to take a pic without the good one at my disposal, I found my prob.
While I'm searching for a fix to this it made me wonder, "Are there replacement camera apps, much like there are for the browser and messaging apps?" Well, of course there are. Many, in fact. Most seem to be paid apps, but if it's a truly better option, just might be worth it.
So what camera apps are you guys using, or could you recommend one?

Sep 11, 2010So the default camera resolution is 6 MP and it says "widscreen." I know that 8 MP is "large screen" but what takes higher quality photos? I've heard lower MP doesn't always mean worse photos.

Oct 10, 2010I've had my Droid X since launch and been lurking here for awhile, I haven't had any real issues until now though...
Yesterday, my droid x started randomly opening the camera application without anyone or anything even touching the phone. It's maddeningly frustrating. It wakes the phone up when the screen is off, which kills the battery faster, it randomly pops up when I'm web browsing or writing a text. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, was there a fix other than taking the phone back to verizon? I haven't gotten the phone wet or dropped it or anything.

Nov 4, 2010[Droid X 2.2 No Root] For some reason sometimes when I'm using the camera or when I try to launch the camera, It fails. For example, I try to open a black screen flashes or the camera opens for a moment and closes. Sometimes it works, others it refuses to even after all running apps are closed, the phone restarted, and after a battery pull. This is not a shutter stick problem.
