few quick searches didnt give me any good results. was wondering if there are any good apps, or something in the settings that im missing to adjust the phone screens?

I have a contact picture on one of my home screens with two + signs up under it. I can't figure out how to get it off of my home screen. If I download and app and I decide I don't want it, How do I get rid of it? Sorry for the (probably stupid) questions, but these two things are really bugging me at the moment.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen adding new contacts to the droid x, it added it as both a goggle contact and phone contact. (i only have one goggle account setup). I went into contacts -> menu -> more -> settings. I am UNABLE to check/unchecked the "Phone Contacts" (it is always checked). The goggle one i am able to check/unchecked. WHY and HOW can i toggle the phone contact? Also, backup assistant only takes PHONE contacts and not GOOGLE contacts...while g mail contact sync only takes goggle contacts and NOT PHONE contacts. How can one change phone contact to goggle contact? (i have seen posts all over but no answers...and just replies saying "i have the same problem") I am trying NOT to have two (2) different types of contacts. PHONE and GOOGLE. I just want goggle contacts ( or phone contacts. so i can at least use verizon's backup assistant.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I have my Facebook account set to sync with my contact but I use Google voice all the time for text and phone. Is there a way to get the pictures that go with my contact to show up when they text or call my gvoice number?
All my pictures are from Facebook so if everything works right the pictures I see in gvoice should be the same as the profile pix in FB.
I don't remember my DroidX always doing this, but recently after I hang-up from a call it shows the "Call Time XX:XX" in the center of the screen and I can't do anything until it goes away, which is generally 5-8 seconds. Hitting Home, Back, etc does nothing and tapping on the screen or the message also does nothing.Is this a setting I can disable? I can look at the recent calls to get the length of call if I need to see it, so I don't need the dramatic pause to give me this info.

On the iPhone, there was an option to select different text notification sounds for different contacts. Bob has sound A, Carol has sound B, etc. I haven't found that option in the S3. Do I need to create Groups and then assign the Group a specific sound for text messages? With over 1200 contacts, I would like to choose one text sound for friends, another for clients, etc.
I'm using Android 2.3 with LauncherPro as launcher. I've added a shortcut to a contact on my desktop (longpress -> shortcut -> contacts then choosen a contact). When I click on the shortcut I got a popup with a list of application that can be used. Dial, Message, Mail and so on. Is there to customize this list (change the order of applications) ?

1. Nexus 7 with Google Contacts app
2. Non-android phone (Nokia N8 etc.) or really any dumb phone paired to Nexus 7 via bluetooth.
3. Select phone number from Contacts on Nexus 7 -> connected phone dials the number
4. Talk on phone.
As I have a very extensive and nicely organized list of contacts in my "People" app (Google Contacts) on the Nexus 7, I would just like to be able to select a number there and have the bluetooth-connected dumb phone place the call, so I just need to pick up the phone and talk, not dial the number manually on the phone.
Right now, when I select a number in the Contacts app on the Nexus 7, Skype - of all things - starts and wants to dial that number apparently. Instead of Skype, I want the number to be sent to the connected bluetooth phone. Surely that HAS to be possible somehow?
Even though this should only require a simple ATD command to be sent out via bluetooth and it's a functionality that every automobile bluetooth setup can do (dial from the steering wheel etc. -> connected phone places the call), I couldn't find one single, small app that does that.
In the PC world, this is sometimes known as CTI (computer telephony integration), basically you dial a number on your Windows PC (e.g. using on-board "dialer.exe" or using Outlook, and your phone places the call). So now I'm basically looking for a simple, one-way TTI (tablet telephone integration).
I did find Tablet Talk, which looks very nice, but this one needs a client software to be installed on the phone, which therefore has to be Android, so it's unusable for my case. I'm pretty much looking for a universal solution here, i.e. Android tablet to any dumb or smart bluetooth-enabled phone (or even another android for that matter), which, given that bluetooth is a universally specified protocol, shouldn't be much of a problem, in my limited understanding.
From my point of view, to problems or "routines" would have to be solved/written in an app that does this:
1.) Get the Google Contacts app ("People") on the android tablet to send numbers via bluetooth or to our "middleware app" (to be named) instead of sending those numbers to the Skype app (which might just be a quirky configuration on my Nexus 7, but it illustrates the use case).
2.) ATD command to phone via bluetooth, sent from the tablet
So when i either put my droid in my car mount or i press the "car/home" app, my phone goes into car mode. here i have 2 screens to choose from. the first screen has 6 buttons all with applications in them, the second screen has 6 buttons but only 3 have applications in them. question is, is there a way to customize the other 3 buttons and pit an application in them or am i stuck staring at 3 empty buttons forever?

View 2 Replies View RelatedLately when I open a contact the phone freezes up as soon as it gets to the screen where it lists all my options for that particular contact (call, text, etc...). It makes no difference whether I search for the contact in the Google bar (which I enabled), if I open them from my "Starred Contacts" folder, or if I open them directly from the contacts list... no difference.
It doesn't happen every time but i'd say it's about 70% of the time, which is very frustrating. The phone locks up for probably about ten to fifteen seconds and then asks if I want to F/C or wait, if I click wait then everything is back to normal and i'm good to go.
Now since yesterday I have installed Beautiful Widgets (which I have heard nothing but good things about), Home++ and Better Keyboard. All of those apps seem to be reliable and not only that but i've actually gone through and removed all apps I didn't really need just to see if possibly one of them was causing the problem.
I recently got a Droid 2, and have been liking it, till today, when I had to manually enter a contact on the phone. I have the latest OTA upgrade.
I found two problems:
(1) Once the Name field goes beyond a certain length, Contacts just edits one entry. I did not attempt a bunch of edits to figure out where the field length trigger for this occurs. However it occurred with two different contacts I wanted to enter, "Capital Ear Nose & Throat Wake Forest" & "Capital Ear Nose & Throat Raleigh". I could start a new contact, but one would just overwrite the other when I clicked save (including the name).
(2) When you task switch with the home button to the browser with a new contact opened, with information in it, and you then switch back to the Contacts app, your new entry is gone!
I won't compare it to other phones, but I am looking a solution or a confirmation this problem has existed forever, and google doesn't plan to fix it.
Is there a way to customize the four main buttons? I noticed that Back long-press and Menu long-press are not set to do anything. Seems like a waste and I would like to make use of those.

Also, is there a way to customize these in any of the UI's?For example, unless you leave them so large that you can only get 4 per screen, you only get the first name of the contact.What I want to do is be able to make the print smaller and have first name, last name.I don't care about the photo.
