How do I stop phone from adding contact after I call them? I call a lot of numbers that I dont ever need to call again. How do I stop it from adding a contact??

I am a new Moment user. I transfered all my contacts info (phone numbers, emails, etc.) from my old phone to the Moment. When I go to add a new contact directly into the Moment, it doesn't display in the contacts. Is there a setting that I must check to allow input directly on the phone?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had my moment for a few days. When I'm on a call, this strange sound occurs from time to time. It sounds like it is coming from in the phone itself, so I think it's a hardware issue. The only way I can think to describe it is it sounds like a spring. Not boing-boing-boing-boing like a pogo stick, but just boing-boing very quickly. Once I thought was able to recreate the sound by moving the phone closer and then further away from my head, but besides that one time I've not be able to recreate it. It just occurred randomly about 24 times during a 30 min call.
At first I thought that the way I hold the phone or the proximity to my ear affects it, but again, I cannot consistently recreate it. Any ideas?
In Gmail I have my contacts sorted by groups, easy enough, on occasion I need to add a new group or move a contact from one group to another, which is easy enough using a pc and my Gmail account. However, I cannot seem to add new groups or edit existing groups on my Moment. I can see the groups, I can sort by groups, but I cannot find an option that will allow me to add or edit any groups. Does anyone know how this is done on the Moment? I suppose I could use the browser to log on to my Gmail account and change it from there but isnt that sort of redundant since I am on my Gmail account using the Moment? Also, maybe someone knows when Moment contacts sync with my Gmail why dont the contact photos sync? One more thing, anyone ever on a call and it goes dead and after a few seconds the phone rings with unknown in the caller ID. When answer it is some from my address book that should have appeared in my caller ID Anyway, now I have to quickly hang up on this person to call the person my phone hung up on to receive this call. Its like the call waiting gets disengaged and hangs up the present call to allow the new incoming. I also had this problem on a HTC Hero I had before I got the Moment also.

I have a hero that is rooted running fresh 2.1.1 The wife has a moment that we are going to root shortly. She likes the yahoo messenger from my phone better then anything from the market and her stock one. So my question would be, since I have access to the apk's is it possible to add it to her phone and have it work?? She would also like me to be able to add the teeter program that only came on the hero. If this is possible please let me know so I can make her happy with her Yahoo again. this is how we chat when she is working so I would really like to be able to do it for her.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to add a pause to a contact #.For instance I want to use google voice, have it dial my GV#, then pause, then enter 2, then my contact # to dial out.Unfortunately I've not figured out how to program in the pause. On my centro it was easy, just use "p" for pause. So I enter this "gv #, p, 2, p, contact #" and it worked fine. Have not figured out how to do this on the moment as "p" doesn't work.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI didn't like having my phone numbers showing up in my email contact list, so I turned off contact sync and deleted all the phone numbers from my iGoogle contacts. I do not seem to be able to manage my contact list in my phone, however -- none of the default numbers are the ones that I chose for my previous phone and seem to be in a random order -- and I wondered if putting them into google online would be the way to manage them. I don't send email from my gmail account and don't really need them anyway.
I deleted the emails in my contacts and turned the sync back on. However, I got an error message saying that to sync I had to delete 34 contacts. I assumed this was my phone list, and I didn't want to do that! I thought I told it no and cancelled it, but I just went in to call my child's daycare and my contact list is empty. Is there anyway to get that back? Or am I stuck with repopulating the list all over again? Also, do I have to use the online google to manage the contacts? Or is it in the phone somewhere and I just haven't figured it out yet? After this, I would prefer to not try synching them again.
Title pretty much says it all. The contact for my wife has about 8 numbers listed. I want to re-order how they appear -- e.g. move the 5th number to the top position. Other than re-enter all the numbers, is there a way to easily re-oder them?

After the person hung up, I saw that the first call I made was on "hold", so I switched to it, and tried to hang up. But the phone would not hang up. Noting I did would end the phone call. I could use the dial pad, I could go to the home screen, but the phone call would not end. I held the "end" button down and nothing happened, and I couldn't get out of the phone call. So I finally popped the battery cover, and pulled the battery to reset the phone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedOn my Samsung Moment, a lot of times when someone is calling me, the phone will start vibrating or ringing as it should but the screen does not turn on showing the caller id until 4 or 5 rings, if at all. It makes answering calls before it goes to voicemail difficult.
Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?
I've searched and have been unable to find a solution to this problem. Actually its with my wife's phone, we both have Moments, mine works great but hers frequently (not all the time) doesn't shut off during phone calls. At first I thought she was just holding it strange but I have seen it for myself and its quite frustrating. The biggest issue is that its an intermittent problem so of course it never happens when at the Sprint store asking about replacing the phone. I did the recent update to the phone and it still does it. Any way to fix this short of getting a new one?

People I call are telling me that they hear a phone number being dialed loudly while I speak to them, as if I am making a call while speaking to them. The call comes in, I hear the ringtone but no matter what buttons I press, the phone won't respond. I have to wait until voicemail kicks in or the call has ended.
I called Sprint technical support and they're going to send a new (I hope it's new) phone. I hate to set up the phone for the third time. Is there a fix or should I just bite the bullet and get the new? phone? Has anyone had this problem?

Dunno if this has been covered and maybe this is a stupid question. I have not had the phone long enough to have much call waiting experiences but the times I did, I noticed I had to press menu and then go thru a menu to "click over" to the other call. This is g=fine and dandy from the comfort of your couch but is not advisable if you are driving a car. Is there a one button shortcut to go to the other call without having to look at a menu?

It seems to happen when I get new notifications. I can see it happen maybe 50% of the time when i get a text, but have seen it other times just disappear when going into email or something. I can always get it back just by opening the alarm program i'm using.
I have seen this happen with the stock moment alarm and gentle alarm. Klaxon will disappear for a moment and re-appear at times when others would have probably disappeared.
For txt i'm using the application the moment came with. using gmail and moxier. not too much notification add-ons minus that except craigsnotifica.
any thoughts? i talked with the developer for gentle alarm and he couldn't reproduce it...
This may not be the best place for this, but I'm hoping someone else here has seen this. The stock messaging app won't stop notifications even if they're turned off...even if the app is deleted? If mms.apk is installed, it keeps notifying me even though it's notifications is turned off. If I remove mms.apk it keeps notifying me that I have 0 new messages. I've tried rebooting, reinstalling and removing. I'm running a sdx kitchen rom with meatkernel 2.0.9/no jit and I have ChompSMS installed. I don't understand how the app can keep notifying me if it's uninstalled? Other than this, the rom has been rock solid with good bat life, so I don't want to flash to stock and start all over for the 5th time this week.

Within the past couple of days i have been suffering from thje random restart problem at least once a day. Anybody know what the cause of it is and how to stop it? Same with the data lock up? what gives? I dont recall either of those 2 things happening with the stock os but the airplane mode problem did. Also my wifi tether absolutely does not work and nobody has been able to tell me why yet lol. That was one of the main reasons i rooted and flashed. I dont really wanna go back to stock because my battery life is better. What gives here with these 3 problems?

An app, a better phone-holding technique--I'll try just about anything. Also, for some reason I had a glitch the other day... I made a phone call, got my friend's voicemail, and then was unable to hang up the call. I ended up leaving a rather long, embarrassing voicemail message until I just went in and force stopped the dialer app, but at least my friend has a good sense of humor.

Please let me know if there is a way to stop the screen from timing out (going dark) during a phone call. I find it annoying to have to hit the power button to get the screen back..
I'm using earbuds so the phone isn't near my face and it recognizes the phones as I can see the headset icon. I keep the phone on my desk and the screen times out almost immediately after I make a call and accept an incoming call. It's extremely annoying since I make a ton of work calls and I need to either navigate through an auto attendant and / or leave a message. All of which I have to hit the power button every single time I want the screen to turn back on. I have noticed that the volume buttons turn the screen back on as well.
The screen timeout is set at 2 minutes under the "Sound & Display" category but that doesn't effect the screen time out during a call. Anyone out there have a solution?
Whenever I make a call where there is a long recorded message before telling me the options, I find the phone has gone into standby - when I bring it out of standby the call gets disconnected. Is there any way to stop the phone going to sleep during a call?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI like how contact shortcuts are done in Android 2.1, where you click on the contact shortcut and a quick menu showing phone, contact card, SMS and email are shown. I also like how when you click one of those items, you get to choose, for example, Text Home or Text Mobile. What I seem to be noticing, though, is that if I check the box that says, "Do this action by default" or whatever it is, then it does things by default for all of those actions. For example, if I check that box when I select "Text Mobile," because, really, I'm never ever ever ever going to text someone at home, then I go and select the call icon, rather than asking me if I want to Call Home or Call Mobile, it just calls (in this case, mobile). Anyone know how I can straighten this out and have my "default" only affect the one action?
